Should these new items have info on what they do in description when they are clicked on in inventory? Is this something we just use and figure out on our own? I imagine they are pretty much like the old ones. Maybe just souped up a bit.

The defense has a 7% chance to activate, and eye has a 6% chance I dunno what they do though :o
Those are higher tier mod crystals like the tear and baguettes we've had for years. I assume they add more damage/block more damage when you mod them onto your weapons. Perhaps they've become percentage-based blocks/attacks compared to adding icons like they used to be?

The ice crystals don't exist sadly, and won't ever exist. The higher tiers of freezing crystals have ice attack and defense to make up for it!
You can see what they do when you try to modify a weapon. Just like all other mods!

Are challengers supposed to be giving out sP after 10 wins or only EXP and items?
Shouldn't be, no. Is being looked into!
I get that challengers drop loot after the 10th win - but is there a cap for when the loot stops? What about the special prizes?
The loot never stops :D Special prizes are only given out after a specific number of wins, which vary by challenger (and not all challengers have them).
Xotl Prince only has loot at win 5

do the throwback challengers have special loot after 10 kills?
I didn't get my total Achievements going up by one when my Hello Kitty, Kitty! Achievement tier was awarded by UA fiat. You should check and see if your total went up.
