Howdy guys! Mage gave me a tome today from the one amulet I got from questing X)

How do you guys feel about the fact that someone can literally just drop $400.00 on the site and get a top tier trained pet nowadays? It kills all my motivation sometimes so I need to hear what your guys perspective on it is.

Not a huge fan of it, but it supports the site and I like that. Usually people who do that don't stick around long too.

I don't get my motivation from watching others fight and build their pets, but from the progress my own pet makes when fighting. Anyone with money can dump it into Subeta for CSC and sell it to get sP and buy high-end weapons and what-not... but in the end of the day, they still need to train and boost. Even with all the sP in the world, boosting requires work.

Try to focus on your own progress. The littlest things can give a sense of accomplishment, like going up one tier, or reaching X amount of stats, or beating X opponent for the first time after many losses.

It's also a matter of looking into the big picture. What are you able to accomplish today that you couldn't a few months ago, or a year ago? How much EXP can you accumulate from BQing daily?

Those are the things that motivate me. And having other battler's support and encouragement.

Battle Quests done for today - completed Level 26 (General Error) - also beat Saggi twice along the way.

All four of my pets now have ten wins on Annabelle and Dirty Matty. And, after much weapon searching, 16 losses and 1 tie -

The big problem here (as often happens) is that 81 is still only T3 and can't find good weapons to use against him. Not sure that she will have any chance at reaching five wins (unless I train/boost her 73 stats to reach T4), but I will at least give it a try before the pirates leave. A Shinwas Temple Shard and UltimaPlus Tag could work wonders here.

- turns out the SubetaLodge database helps only marginally because it only searches a single tier at a time, but if I have a T3 pet, I want to see all weapons up to T3, not just all T3 weapons. Also it only searches a single attack icon and a single defense icon. So if I want to defend physical and fire and attack with earth, water or wind (for Angrybeard) then I need to search every possible combination for all three tiers. I know I said multiple searches were okay, but that would quickly get unreasonable for my T9 facing some higher level challenger. And then, you have to page through the results because they can't be sorted in any useful way. So something else is definitely needed.

And I agree, the search is the big problem as far as SubetaLodge goes. Which is a shame.

Anyway, back on topic, I'd love to see something like this! I have been using my own (super incomplete) spreadsheet of some weapons (primarily my armory), scrolls, and a still incomplete but more than 85% done, challenger list with a breakdown of their weapon damage/blocks, but if we can have something like that it would be splendid! lol Plus I have gotten all the data from SLodge, and while it's helped, I've found it's not 100% updated

The website cost would be around $10-$30 yearly for the domain, and $15-$30 monthly for the server, to give you an idea. It really depends how many people are interested, and someone (or a group of people) has to run the site. But yeah I wanted to throw it out there as an idea :)

- that sounds very reasonable considering how many battlers could be helped. For what it's worth, I'd be happy to supply some volunteer labor for data entry or administrative work, at least long enough to get things established and figure out what should happen next. But someone else would need to do any weapon testing for new weapons that might show up (especially since my main pet is only T9).

As far as sleeping goes, it seems to me that you keep the same hours I do - lots of overnight and irregular ones. :-).

Players aren't in direct competition, except maybe for pet ranking, so I don't care. Someone blowing a ton of cash to boost their pets doesn't affect me outside of possibly inflating booster/amulet prices for a time. I'm a terribly lazy and self centered person, so my motivation isn't driven by the progress of others, let alone how they did it. They could get instantly capped pets and the best weapons for that price and I'd still be trudging along, training and doing daily BQs.

[edit] It might be worth pointing out that I'm not a devoted battler, or someone who has their pets face off against the strongest opponents for the enjoyment of the challenge. I do this because I felt I was missing out by not being able to fight holiday, event, or plot challengers. Having a big pet that can take those on makes Subeta more enjoyable for me and gets me phat loots. Someone who wants to have a capped pet now and throws money at the site to get that doesn't invalidate what I've done or my reasons for doing it.

Congrats on your wins against the Pirates, and I know you can beat Angrybeard with 81 with time and good luck. Pylonics and the like are very helpful at all tiers.

Also, thank you! I'm now up to three wins against Rita. I'm playing high-risk high-reward with her, hoping to chain freeze as often as possible and banking on her not critting me. I upped Sun's AP to 92 so I can run four Shrieks+Strong Stomp+Gift of the Forj, and I'm using Glaciating Pylonic with Gift for the extra chance. I've got Shinwas Temple Shard and Amulet of Neutrality(mvp, it's lasting more than one turn often) plus Negating Pylonic for full blocks.

Yes, AoN is definitely great and not only often lasts more than one turn, but sometimes lasts many turns. So wonderful.

Thanks everyone for your responses! I guess it's just a matter of perspective on the game and how it's played. But yeah, I suppose Subeta isn't very competitive so that it doesn't matter too much if someone jumps ahead by helping the site out and then getting the instant gratification.

Thanks again! I could scream though, I was in probably the best position I was going to get with her down to around 3000 health a couple of tries ago, and I forgot to click my Negating Pylonic when I made an attack - she crit me and killed me. Argh. So much raging. So now I'm just going to boost his AP enough to equip my last freezer, Psychosmasher, and pray that I can chain her again. I added four critical strike tear crystals to both my attackers hoping for some sweet crits of my own since I don't need the parched blessings.

Its really worth it to up your AP though, it'll chew through several million pure but its very helpful if you have the scrolls to make use of it.

Ten wins against Angrybeard done with Tos, Tharg and Gulp. 81 is at three wins looking for five.

Well Tos actually has 13. After her next to last battle, the screen froze, and then when I tried to go back it said the battle didn't exist, and then the second time I tried it let me, so don't know if I lost count, or if the counter somehow glitched during the freeze/reentry process. I'd count loot drops, but he only drops things after the fifth battle, so that won't work. I guess it's not really important. Tos either gained (or possibly lost if the tenth battle wasn't counted) a small amount of EXP.

- Ouch! That is sooo frustrating. I'm sure you will beat her again. She sounds really tough. I have no idea how Tos is going to be able to beat her five times. At this point, I'll settle for one. :-)

I'm sure it is worth it to raise AP. And I have a pile of books in my vault,, so it will cost me mostly time unless I buy more books or start using intel boosters. But I only have a couple of scrolls, so right now, I would only use the AP when I'm borrowing scrolls for a special challenger. I've been trying to balance raising AP and getting some scrolls of my own to go with it. :-) Right now, I just want to finish battling these pirates.

- I did manage to snag a couple books and wearables from the MB yesterday. Still a long ways to go to get all my pets educated on the ways of pirates! (and then they went and made achievements for it so now everything is even more unaffordable OTL)
