For my main two weapons, I used ME and Unstable Syringe. Led with Scientist Specs and Volatile Mecha, then used Captured Flame for chip damage next turn along with Soma for another freeze chance. PQuill and STS as standard. Started switching out Soma for AoD towards the end, along with throwing vials.

Scroll-wise, you want to keep him iced and hope his blessing doesn't go up. If it doesn't, spam as many freezers you got, like Shrieks, after your first turn freezing weapon. Keep him chain frozen for as long as you can. Use an infinite freezer like Gelaspell to help out once you run out of OPB freezers.

If that blessing does go up, focus on healing and blocking. I used primarily Cobalts for blocking and had my Skelly Scroll initially, but changed to Feather Explosion for the much needed :block:physical:. Had Gift of the Forj for extra healing when needed, along with a Lucky scroll for a quick :block:dark:.

Thanks for the in depth rundown on strategy etc that was very interesting and helpful. I can see that for next year I need to revamp/rethink my weapon and scroll set a bit more and by then hopefully Jaleeta will have better stats too so fingers crossed

... have pretty much accepted that 6 is a fair max for wins on Rouland for J this year, its like a brick wall lol weird cause up to the sixth win I felt it wasnt all that bad, then suddenly wallop!! he seemed to become SO much stronger, now I cant even get him down by half of his hp.. weird

Thanks for the advice. In the end it turns out what I needed was to change up my strategy and mod my weapons properly... I found that throwing Fireside Flames was also better than the Dark X Potions for doing damage.

I remember why i put this off, but can't say no to that EXP.

Has anyone else been as stupid as me and read tomes to your pet instead of using them?

I honestly don't like the way this is set up now, and that was even before I screwed up. Tomes have always been used as boosters, so why in the world would that not be the first option? Most of them are still going to be used, not read. can you see where I am coming from and can this be flip flopped?

Happens to me a fair bit, especially when i mass stat boost as i get complacent after awhile.

I agree it could be streamlined abit better, all battlers would love that.
