- Surge is scary looking! But you can beat him, he just takes a dozen losses for each win, so not sure if you want to bother for BQ. Tos was getting regular wins using Large Gutting Knife, Blessed Trident, Rapier of Error, AoN, Phoenix Quill, Deluxe Death Shard, UltimaPlus Tag, and Recycle Blaster. With Aftershocks, GoTF and one Perilous Whirlpool. Freezing helps when you can get lucky. It takes some time, but you definitely can win.

Tos was also able to get her fifth win against Llindorm with the same set except I used Gelatin Slayer (for the big dark block) instead of the Blessed Trident. Stealing and blasting helps. If you manage a steal of his Frostbite Amulet you can use it to help freeze him. has some good help for him.

Battle quest done through Level 22. Beat Surge once but it takes more time than I can afford.

It took me about a half hour and multiple battles before I managed it. I swapped out the LGK for the core this time since I was getting close repeatedly and he doesn't block dark. (He blocks lots of earth, physical and water, so try to avoid those as your attack.) Unfortunately, I've got him again for Level 23 and I don't really have the time to play with him again right now (I have some work to get done today). You should have an easier time as long as you remember to keep your parched blessing up because you have the higher health to survive most of the hits that kill Tos. Good Luck if you decide to go for it again.

Congrats on getting the one win though! Your pet is T10 yes? You could try using the plague claw, which blocks physical, paired with something like the minotaur knocker, gelatin slayer, or OHS you could borrow.

I also can't wait for the next TBT challengers. I hope it's more balanced like this time around, with one easy opponent and one harder opponent.

The castle can only be frozen during the first turn. After that he activates a freeze protection blessing for the entire battle. Fatal fire scrolls have been really good for him. I have also been using cobalt and SE. SE would probably be the better option though if I had more of those. He just hits hard by the time I've gotten him down to low health. I made a bad scroll decision and he killed me.

He becomes pretty tough by the end of the battle yeah =x

Oh it definitely depends on what you blast. I wait until later on in the battle to blast, in the hopes of blasting one of the weapons he spams towards the end. Battle two was a breeze because I was able to blast the wizened wizard and rally call of the king. That's why I was hoping to get win 3 xD

Thanks for the advice. I wasn't aware of what the Sierrac Flail does (I have it, though). Don't have the OHS , Natasha, or Ether (still deciding if I need either.... ). Didn't know what unstable fairy does either (I'm a terrible battler - get the weapon/scroll before they figure out what it'll do and then I never use it). I'm 10 stats away from 5,000 speed, so I'll wait until that happens.

The flail works at its best when you have 5k speed so hopefully that will help you get the wins. Natasha and OHS are definitely worth picking up when you have the funds. You can use the trident in the meantime and mod all with blessed armor for steal protection, hope the trident blessing kicks in. You could also bring a third weapon into battle if she does steal. DGR is another good weapon for her.

I noticed that the scroll does better at that speed as well. I'll wait until I get some tomes to increase my speed - I only boost intel, health, and strength at this point, unless other stats happen to come with them. I've been saving for the Natasha and OHS, but am afraid that once I plonk down the sP a new weapon comes out that I need or there will be a new opponent that needs something else.... I'm close to pulling the trigger, though...

Earth block and fire block are almost always a good block for challengers. The only impossible challengers I can think of that neither would be good for are prakherash and the forj.

True. I've always done ok with my P-staff and Tainted Keeper Skull, but they're not quite as strong, of course.

- so apparently, the idea is to figure out how to kill him quicker because he grows so much (and generates new weapons?) as the battle goes on. But he has high health, so he takes forever to kill and if you goof, or get unlucky, he kills you instead. Have I got that about right? Sounds really nasty! Almost makes me think that life is easier fighting little guys with 81. :-)

the good thing about prodigy is that you can freeze him anytime too. ugh yeah her heal is super annoying.

also i didn't know the unstable fairy scroll scales too LOL... ...oh you need to have less than 50% health too for 3k+ speed... interesting!

The skull staff is very good when your defense > strength, even if it's just by one point more. Pstaff I found to be very unreliable for the block and don't like that it doesn't do as much water damage when your pet has high stats.

Yeah it's all about knowing what weapon to use when and blasting one of his infinite use weapons that are a real pain. I was using Cronus, AU and OHS but I am going to see if I have better luck with Natasha instead of AU.

Yes! It's most useful at 5k speed though, has a better freeze rate then. That is the only scaling scroll so far. The battle admins were testing it out since we have scaling weapons. I would like to see more that didn't scale with speed though

...if I have energy after BQs I might see what happens with my T3. Not much good, I suspect, without a 100% freezer.

Yes, thank you, Tos was also able to win a core. It just took her 1200 battles to do it.

It took all four of my pets together to do about the same damage as Nightmarium did on his own. :-) Good job, Nightmarium!
