Congrats on your wins against mutant scientist! I was high tier 11 last year I think when I managed 3 wins on Rouland so you can definitely get to 10 wins with your stats. Best weapons for him are ME and natasha
If anyone wants to make their battling seem more exciting...I recommend playing the theme for Requiem For a Dream in the background...it makes it seem more epic!
Oh really? Thats really good to know! My armoury seriously lacks a water blocker so I'm looking forward to Rouland this year :D
...need... ...coffee...
head falls on desk
Ooh, I wasn't even thinking about Rouland. There was never any point in me fighting him before but my main battle pet is T12 now, I have an ME thanks to the Gelly War, and I'm pretty close to buying a Natasha. Thanks for the info that those are the best weapons for him, maybe I'll have a shot this year. Do wins reset every year for Rouland?

Nope. If you have 8 wins you only need two more to get to 10. Good luck.
[Edit] You Won! You have defeated Prodigy Kuuipo earned 3500 EXP Points!
Knocked out BQs.
[edit] You have defeated Ice King 62 times! You won a(n) Extremely Hard token to use in the battle shop! Kuuipo earned 30 EXP Points!

You Won!
You have defeated Crithbolcan 10 times!
That was... way easier than I expected. I just realized I can beat it in BQs and figured I'd try my luck outside them. I guess I was intimidated by the high HP and hadn't bothered to tackle it.

Thanks! I may attempt a third win since I did really well for win 2.
Yeah I checked my records and I was early T12 when I beat him. I remember it wasn't easy. It took 47 losses for 3 wins. My friend was telling me once I had around 6k health and just in general higher stats he would be easier.
He does a lot of fire and dark damage so those two definitely help! Nope, wins don't reset. I have 3 wins from last year so I technically only need 7 for the achievement, but I will go for all 10.
- Go for it. You have nothing to lose but time. Good Luck. I'll see if I can arrange to drain the moat and provide an oil shield this time. :-)
And negating pylonics lol. He is burning through my stash. I have to be more conservative with them. The oil spill is the least of my worries thanks to Cronus. It's the rally call of the king that will do me in since it heals him for 1,000 and boosts his strength/ def for 400 each. I managed to blast one of those and the wizened wizard so that battle went really well.
Quick question for the battlers/boosters out there. What's the max you'll spend on Quentin's quests in hopes that you'll get an amulet? It's definitely not hard to get the sP back that you lose (because, seriously, those sP rewards are usually garbage), but sinking 60-80k into a single quest every now and then and not getting one just sucks. Lol. Especially lately, when every amulet I do get just ends up giving me a shard. >.>
- I really hate when my opponent has big healers. An infinite 1000 point healer that also boosts strength / def is just cruel. And I had no idea he actually had a weapon called Hot Oil Spill or that he had a Deep Moat Scroll. Wow - they really tried to get realistic with their weapon names for this challenger. Definitely blast that Rally Call of the King! Good to make sure he doesn't generate that Invigorating Incantation by blasting the Wizened Wizard too. Good Luck. Maybe you can do that again.
Just think what we could do with one of those Rally of the Kings in our weapon set though. :-)
- I know sometimes it doesn't seem like it, but it has been a very long time since I've done all ten Quentin Quests without winding up with an sP profit (even if small). So, personally, when I'm trying for amulets, I don't worry about any individual quest and just do them all to maximize my chance of getting them.
I do them all unless it costs 300k+ for one quest. In that case I could just buy the amulet guaranteed for the same amount. Otherwise it's worth it in the long run and still cheaper than buying tomes.
There's a reason he is the hardest challenger haha. Aww thank you and your battlers for the potions. Verdugo really appreciates it :D
You Won! You have defeated Unstable Snow Fairy Nightmarium earned 3500 EXP Points! Head back to the Battle Quest headquarters to finish up this quest! Because this was level 30 you earned 3500 experience!
BQ done! ;)
I always do all the Quentin's quests. ~
- I believe there is actually a cap on the price of the items that quentin will ask for. I always do all of them. Sometimes I lose sP, but usually I gain at least a bit, and getting even just one amulet makes up for it. (and the last time he was the special weekend quest, I also got 5 SBQ items!)
Time to get some battling done!
Mmkay, that's just what I've been doing. Thanks for the answers!
- you're welcome, hope they help!
Apologies to all for the very late response. I finally stopped trying to keep up during the latter stages of the Gelatin War.
Tos and Tharg each got ten wins against the Gelashells I tried Gulp too, but after 6 straight losses I gave up.
- just saw this from earlier when I stopped being able to answer all the pings and battle too. "Maskros sends her best luck to Tos. She needs some rest. Tomorrow it'll be Zac's turn but I'm just going to do 1mil max with him 😀 Oh the dilemma of being a T8..." So funny, without having seen that I decided to work on getting to 1 million damage with Tharg - my T8. Guess we're starting to think alike sometimes. :-) And belated thanks for the good wishes. Tos really needed both them and lots of rest.
- hope you were able to finish your 5 million damage and win that core.
- (very late responses to your post
Yes, really nice to be able to make some time/effort decisions in advance with this year's Gelatin War format. Definitely one of the reasons I also liked it.
I agree. Serious battlers will always have an advantage in any event. They have the experience and the equipment and in many cases, the support of each other for strategy/tactics/encouragement and/or shared battle stuff. But I do think the level of competitiveness of any given tier will be somewhat a matter of luck - since you can't tell who will choose to spend time battling with which lower tier pets. I would hope that all tiers have enough battlers to be reasonably competitive unlike the first time the format was tried. Lots of good battlers have multiple pets at different tiers so I think you would find them battling in more than just the top levels if a tiered prize award returns. And they will tend to win the prizes there over less serious battlers. Depending on the reason for awarding tiered prizes, you could consider that to be either a good thing, or a bad thing, I guess.
Sorry - wasn't trying to take your remarks out of context. I was probably way too tired to be trying to have a serious discussion right then. I admit I don't know what sP was worth relatively years ago, but I do think that battling is very much too expensive at high tiers. It's okay if that isn't how you see it. And I certainly wasn't trying to say you didn't work hard to earn your battle equipment or that it should become worthless. When you talk about needing a balance I'm in complete agreement.
I would ask which weapons you are calling essentially free. If you are talking about weapons that you earn by defeating cash shop challengers, I don't call those free, since I count the cost to purchase whatever item you need to unlock the challenger. I do know there are some good less expensive weapons and some you get by battling challengers everyone can access, but I'd love to know if there are any like that I don't have.
- I see you got to at least five wins on Malerias Familiar. Wow - that's fantastic! Congratulations.
I'm the same way, I'm active during events, then the events ends and I drop off the face of whatever forums I was hanging out in. I hope enjoyed some relaxation in the real world!
And I wanted to thank you for the book~<3
bird and bear and hare and fish give my love her fondest wish
Congrats for getting 10 wins with Tos and Tharg! Gulp will be ready by the next war
10 wins with my T4s on the bloodred golem. I may try with Deino later.
- I don't normally disappear after an event, but this combination wore me out. I do try to take periodic breaks from my computer (since otherwise I would be glued to it day and night). Before the Bathhouse, I would sometimes just not turn the computer on at all for a few days. I was lucky enough to get a whole new stack of library books so I did a lot of reading and a lot of sleeping!
You're very welcome.
- probably. And Gulp will always be the first one in the family to earn a core, and, so far, the only one to earn a Lambent Guardian Crystal, so she is still able to brag to her siblings when she feels like it. :-)
81 managed to get five wins on the Bloodred Golem, so Deino should be able to get that far. I followed some advice from and used Azathoth Hungry Boots coupled with Classic Hero Sword and Batwing Blade for my healer. And threw on some defense tear crystals to block magma and a little extra dark since putting back the parched tears is very inexpensive right now. Icy Freezing Rod of Doom, Shrine of Apollonia, Sparkling Quill, Jeweled Quill and Phoenix Quill (lots of feathers flying all over the Battle Coliseum :-) ).
Is Verdugo still swimming the moat and trying to breech the castle walls again?
