i usually only change my HA when i have a new item so i start with that and build and outfit around it. unless i get a wild hair and decide to make a themed avi then i usually star with the face!

I usually start with the base, really; then, from there, I usually go for the hair, or the face, or an item I really want to use and keep working from there.

If it's cosplay, I choose the items that resemble that character the most and work around them.

I tend to start with an item that I like, and work from there. Match up similar colour schemes where I can and so on. Though, if i'm just throwing something together 'cuz i'm bored, it's usually just whatever works together. Sometimes not even.

Like a lot of people, I usually start with a single item or a certain color and go from there. The face is one of the first things I work on since it's my favorite part for details and layering, but hair often ends up being the last thing I mess with.

I'm usually inspired to build around an item. It could be something I just got, it could be something I stumble upon in the wardrobe, but it's often just something I feel I need to do something with. There are times however I'll just want to do a certain theme so I look through what I've got that will fit it and go start with whatever pulls me to it.

I always go for the hair first. The hair imo defines the whole outfit :)

For me, it first takes an idea or an item and then I scour my closet for what I have an spend too much on items I end up using only once. XD

Sometimes it starts with an item and I build from there. Other times it starts with a face and I go from there. It's all depending on my mood.

I almost always start with a character of mine in mind. Build the face to look like theirs and then find items they'd wear ^-^

Usually the background to be honest. Unless I have a specific piece I know I want to use. Sometimes a skin, but I usually start on the bottom and work my way up.

I tend to start with an item I really like, so I can decide next the theme of the HA, and the most important; the colours! After that I just try barely everything that I think it can fit well and then decide. 🦋

My HA are based on my pets, most of the time! I usually think about their human designs, the kind of life they live, etc. and check SubetaLodge for items with related keywords/characteristics. c: My current HA is of my Angel Malticorn! Needing some nice horns/antlers still.

Skintone for me, it decides a lot of the colors I will use. I tend to use brighter or more vibrant colors on darker skin.

I always start with the face first because it kinda sets the whole personality of the HA, and once I get that finished I have a better feel of who I've just created and what they'd wear. Then I do the hair next to sort of set a color scheme, and from there it varies but usually chest, bottoms, etc., and bg is last.

Like a lot of people I start with an item I really like (be it new or just my favorite), and then go from there. Or I'll start with a background. Whatever I'm feelin.

I tend to start with the face because I normally make avatars based on ocs, and the face is what communicates an emotion the majority of the time. I also start with the face when making avatars based on my petsbut I'm more likely to change that as the outfit develops

Most of the time, I start putting random clothes on my HA and see what happenes, if it fits or not. Then I try to focus on a color palette and play with layering. Sometimes my HAs are based on my pets. One thing I learned about making HAs is that you don't need to expend so much money on clothing to get a cute or decent HA. I hardly ever expend more than 500000 sp on it. I only expend considerable amount of sp on backgrounds, If I use a background xD. I've to admit it, I'm a little bit mean lol

I usually have one item or two that catches my eye, and then I go back to the face/head create something i like there, and then bop around until I'm happy
