I start with items I want to use or face items or take items with special theme (DarkMatter to example).

I'm with everyone else on the one inspirational item thing, though sometimes I see a cool idea for two items together and make them match from there.

I always start with the Peculiar Petri Dish. If there are new items I pick one I like and try to match it with items I've already got. Hair and makeup are always last so I can see what looks best with the completed outfit.

I always start with the hair. Usually I have a theme in mind, so it doesn't take me long to find items I know I have to build on that theme.

I usually start with the face then the hair. I will do the outfit from there. If I am trying to hide my zombie Bindi Bite I will use vanishing cream or whiteout then pick a background first.

I usually start with an item I just got. Sometimes, I find a top I want to use and go from there.

I usually start from a favorite item, or more often, a new item. Something I'm excited to work with. Sometimes, it's a specific item I remember spotting halfway through another HA, that I mentally set aside as my next starting item. Then, I gradually work from there. If it is hair or makeup, I start with her head, if it's a bigger item, I often head to the chest section first, and wind up doing the head and hair last.

Of course, if I'm working on a challenge of some kind, those items come first, then I move onto whatever will be hardest to put with it... If it's some kind of belt or waist bit, I'll worry about the dress. If it's background, I might choose items based on what I want showing... If it has an interesting part near the head, I work on the hair first. If I want to make sure stuff lower on the background is visible, I start with the skirt and legs...

A backdrop first if I'm using one. Otherwise, I pick one main item and try to match the colors and look from there.

I fall in love with a hair first, then go to a backdrop that fits and build from there.

Custom hair is my downfall! I already have too many!

I usually build my HAs around wigs, I've noticed.

I normally just try to build off a general word/theme and then such for items with that word in it.

I usually start with an idea of the type of HA I want to make (based on an event, theme or item I've been wanting to use). Then nine times out of ten I start with a chest item and then a wig of some sort and then go from there.

Start with something cool I want to work with, then build an idea off of items that match in concept and/or palette.

My kingdom for a random button though. So many pages of wardrobe and I'm sure there's cool stuff I have that I've never used.

I usually start with the face or the wig, then move on to other things! It's important for me to have a colour scheme in mind.

I personally start with the face first so I can move onto the wig, or vice versa, because a lot of my favorite eyes don't pair well with a lot of my wigs. As I move on and make the rest of the outfit I often end up changing the wig, though, because I get indecisive and find that the outfit I created doesn't work with the wig.

I spend a lot of time in the section of the wardrobe that displays every single item on Subeta, and I accidentally buy new stuff every time I want to make an outfit...

I almost always start with a hairstyle that I like. Very rarely I find an item or accessory that I really want to incorporate into my outfit, so I work off of that - but if I can't find a hairstyle that I love to go with it, I'll scrap it.

I usually start with the same face for all of them and then the hair. If the eyes and hair are right, everything else will fall into place.
