my usual flyers both have hit and run, so i brought out donnel to make sure i wasn't misremembering -- if you try to do something like drag a horse onto a tree and you can't KO, neither of you will move. but if you can KO the opposing unit, you will retreat. so if your ny! camilla is strong enough to OHKO or still fast enough to double and clean up that way, drag back is ok. if not, hit and run is better (just harder to get)
- Unfortunately she is - spd, she rarely doubles anything. I don't have a spare unit for hit and run. I got tank build -spd + res, It's not great. lol. I don't really plan on using her outside of this week's arena, but it would be helpful if she had something!
The announcement of the new TT made me go a bit nuts this morning and I decided to properly invest in my +Spd NY!Camilla. I promoted a spare Naverre to give her Killing Edge+ and have now upgraded it to refined +Spd Slaying Edge+. Also fed her Reposition and Desperation; think I'm gonna keep her Bond skill for now. I think Draconic Aura will work as her special if she gets a Hone Fliers buff, as it tips her over 50 attack which is considered the minimum threshold. Also refined NY!Azura's Hagoita+ into +Spd. Thought about giving her a killer weapon, too, but I do largely use her as a support unit. She hits 38 speed before buffs, though, which is a decent amount.
I think I'm gonna field Cordelia, Cherche, NY!Camilla and NY!Azura as my main team. So happy there's no trickery with Corrin, yay for a free archer!
If S!Corrin graces us again I'm definitely going to aim for her. I almost have a second fliers team with NY!Camilla, Cherche and Minverva built, but obviously they're missing a strong blue to fill the gap.
Wished oliver showed up today, stuck st home due to snow today and it's making me insane and upset. Could have used his GHB and hours working on him to kill time and get my mind on other things.
Has all 2009 strains, all 2010 strains, all 2011 strains, all 2012 strains, all 2015 strains, all 2016 strains, all 2017 strains, all 2018 strains, all 2019 strains, all 2020 strains, all 2021 strains, all 2022 strains, All 2023 strains, all 2024 strains, all Vial strains, Biodoominessence, Batnip, Cakewalk, and Stalacbite,
- Jealous of your +spd NY Camilla. She's pretty awful with -spd.
Another 2 3* gwendolyns and a bunch of other fodder, finally got Micaiah to show up! +att -HP. Not bad, +spd would be better, she's kinda slow, but with + att, she hits like a truck, and bonus damage against armors and cavalry will still make her a pretty valuable asset. I feel like she was designed specifically to counter the menace that is winter tharja.
I'd argue that's her best IV, potentially. Allows her to function as a QR wall with added firepower, very similar to the role Julia and Dierdre play but with the added bonus of effectiveness against two major threats.
Managed to beat Hard and Lunatic of Oliver but Infernal is giving me some problems. Took three attempts with my fliers but couldn't manage it. Not sure if they have the firepower necessary to take down some of the bulkier threats.
Also actually started playing Path of Radiance yesterday. It's fun! Made it up to chapter 11 I think? The limit on support conversations is making me anxious though haha.
Welp about to see how bad Oliver's GHB is >_< I feel like I'm going in sorta blind dispite seeing the map
Edit: ._. Well that was easyer then I thought. I had Fae, Hector, Lachesis ( as she can heal from a farther distance, keeping herself away from Oliver and the red mage), and Ike on my team since I hear a Fae could kill everything. Basicly Fae, Hector and Lachesis did all the work in the defence tiles while Ike just sat there.
Has all 2009 strains, all 2010 strains, all 2011 strains, all 2012 strains, all 2015 strains, all 2016 strains, all 2017 strains, all 2018 strains, all 2019 strains, all 2020 strains, all 2021 strains, all 2022 strains, All 2023 strains, all 2024 strains, all Vial strains, Biodoominessence, Batnip, Cakewalk, and Stalacbite,
tfw intsys obviously made the map claustrophobic with trenches and everything to impede horse teams and you brute force a win on infernal with your usual horse team haha, oops?
what'd you end up going with, if anything? at that point, i would probably just... see what i had too much of, and see if there's anything useful; inherit just to clear some space x: of course with my barracks it'd be escape route or pass, lmao
- jealous of your green distant countering units. I barely scraped out a win on lunatic after about 5 tries, infernal is just causing me all kinds of problems.
- Still nothing, but I probably will throw draw back on her just to free up some space, as you say. Not sure I have anything else that would be useful for her. Looking for something better for Micaiah as a B slot as well, Guard is only useful situationally (like winter tharja lol) Maybe blue tome breaker? I picked up a spare Henry one one of the blue-less circles. My Nowi loves having blue tome breaker, it has come in handy a lot, but not sure it would be as useful for Micaiah though. She's not particularly fast, maybe a sword breaker or QR (though, I don't think I have any spares for either right now)
I guess it depends on her primary use. QR is a bit more versatile while Tomebreakers will allow her to counter specific threats, probably better if she'll specialise in AA etc. I think I'd sway towards QR, personally, as her Res is already fantastic so she probs won't have many problems against mages and it'd let her be versatile against a wider range of tomes. Vantage could work, too, for picking off weakened threats if you aren't able to OHKO.
Just trying to complete up some quests and man the lunatic Bk2 3-4 is really killing me. I can deal with Micaiiah, Sothe and random dragon rider without too much issue but nothing dents Zelgius without killing one of my units :( I’ve tried various combinations... perhaps a mage will do it? That dc on Alondite really wipes me out though.
Team Ponytail project, Hinata is going really well, currently has Wo Dao+ and ignis. He will eventually have fury 3, renewal 3 and savage blow three. They definitely need a good healer though to make the team work.
Just need to find some good skills for Soup Takumi ready for Tempest trial (I think desperation might be good for him)
I just caught up with the quests today. The obstacles were a pain so went flier emblem for the Lunatic maps. I sent Firesweep Lance+ Cordelia to take out Zelgius which is a bit of a cheat. Not sure if you have a Dazzling healer but could be a good alternative. Or Brave Lyn! Or Reinhardt?
And yeah, Desperation seems a good choice for him!
Ah, how did I forget about the Reinhardt! I was trying out my flyer emblem and really wanted it to work. (Cordelia, Tana, Cherche and Elincia). My Cordelia is running brave lance with death blow but even then she was still 6 short on Zelgius before he killed her. I pulled another 5* Cordy around the time I promoted my only Cordelia so I might have a look and see if the new one runs slightly better stats.
Anyway! Gave the map another shot and ran Sigurd, Cecelia, Reinhardt and Vanilla Azura and finally got the clear. Thanks :) Now to figure out a good strategy for Laevaetinn map. I think I need to find a way to make Flier Emblem work for that one.
- I just stuck Nowi in his way, and with the blue tome breaker she took care of Micaiah easily too. :P I had the most difficulty with the last map, I always struggle with turn limits.
- Yeah, I think I'm leaning QR, i got a Tsubaki trying to get Hinoka on the TT banner, so that works out pretty well. With distant def as well, it lets her bait pretty well. Maybe throw on a deflect seal for the Brave/Desperation/Reinhardt or possibly hardy bearing. Did you know that Hardy Bearing also cancels desperation? I thought it was pretty much just Vantage, but desperation does technically change attack order too.
No problem at all! The last map is a bit annoying with the unfortunate starting positions and turn limit of 4 on Lunatic, the battle isn't hard but pretty spread out. Might be good if you can bring a dancer along in case you need a touch more range. Or just horses.
That sounds like a good set-up! Of course, now we have the Quick Riposte seal (wut) she could run that instead. But tbh I think she'd benefit from a defensive seal more than another B slot, so would probably still lump for QR.
And yeah, I think Hardy Bearing is pretty slept on! I haven't had the chance to upgrade it though because of the rate we're getting new seals, I'm basically always coin starved (well, I would be if I didn't keep a reserve of 'em...). QR in an instant upgrade and Def Ploy has a lot of potential if you have someone who can abuse it.
finally got the last map with Sigurd, Cecilia, Reinhardt and Airzura. A flying dancer is really handy!
Can we talk about how great the TT-mini is? I’m so excited to try out Quick Riposte. I am tempted to put it on my Xander and then give him vantage. Or- give it to my original Takumi because he is minus speed. The possibilities are endless, haha. Also, the final map is beautiful and they picked End of All for the music! I really hope next big version update gives the option to turn off music so we can enjoy the final map music for future trials.
Haha lots of people seem bummed about QR becoming a seal but I think it's a great boost to defensive units, which have always lagged behind offensive threats. :) Opens up some fun capabilities for mixed units - M!Robin being able to run both Swordbreaker and QR to give him both offensive and defensive presence and able to counter some of the units he should. QR and Vantage is gonna be another great combo on any units that can counter on both ranges. I look forward to running it on my Fjorm during Arena bonus, gonna be a fun combo with Ice Mirror and Shield Pulse against mages.
- I'm only bummed about QR seal, cus now everyone and their dog is gonna be running QR seal and Vantage in the arena, making a lot of units which were already scary with one or the other, even scarier like Nowi and BK. And I agree that Micaiah would make better use of the defensive seals. Hardy Baring was one of the first ones I upgraded to lvl 3 cus when we first got it, vantage was hugely popular in the arena, I'm seeing it less now, but still often enough that the seal was worth having, and the fact that it interrupts desperation has also come in handy a handful of times. Micaiah would probably do will with ploy seals as well.
Thankfully I think it'll be a little more powerful in our hands, as QR is an enemy phase skill so we can at least play around it and bait the enemy rather than initiate. Harder with stuff like Armour Emblem as they're more prone to stick together but I think we will be able to around it.
I definitely think it's worth investing in Firesweep weapons if you get the chance (I have so many Rodericks I don't know what to do with them... he's following me), they're a simple but effective tool in countering that subset of annoying skills and I'm really happy with both Cordelias.
- I have a spare one spare 4* roderick, but no other sweeping weappns. I did give Lucius dazzling pain+ for no counter attacks, and I still have windsweep on Joshua which helped when he was a bonus unit. The sweep weapons are double edged sword though, your unit is essentially a sitting duck on enemy phase. Maybe azure would benefit from firesweep lance, but she kind of needs the sapphire bonus defence to not die, cus her defence is crud.
