"I'm Paddy," she replied to Maddox (), "I used to be one of the Gryffindor prefects, but I had to stand down this term, so I'm just a plain ol' Gryffindor now."

"I 'ope it'll be a lot, cos it'll be more fun that way," Magnus said.
"Magnus Lee," he replied to Maddox, "Ravenclaw prefect." The boy shrugged, "ey its okay. It were good. Spent time with me parents. Took an art class at a local college. It was a lot o' fun and I picked up some new skills."

"Eros () would really like the second one I bet, and Sam () too."

"What did the college course cover?" Paddy asked Magnus (), strangely surprised that he felt he needed to take a class to improve his already amazing drawing skills. "I bet you were the only one there who could actually animate their drawings though."

"Maybe they didn't like the idea of potentially competing against their own house," Paddy replied to Poppy, although she thought the real reason was that they were all so tied up with their essays that they hadn't read the noticeboard yet.

"Where do you think we'll do all of this? I regret wearing these shoes too," she said looking down at her oxfords.

He didn't immediately sign his name, however, as he was still hesitant about registering for this workshop. Although he was an athlete and enjoy competitions, he didn't see the point of the games. It's been a while since the last Triwizard event and he wasn't sure if another one would ever be held, to his disappointment as he would soon be eligible if they were still a thing. Maybe that was the reason to participant in this. If there wasn't going to be the real thing, this would be a momentary substitute. He sighed and signed his name. He turned and went to Elise to grab a box before noticing there were quite a few other students already.

As usual, the sixteen year old isolated himself and just leaned against a post as he waited.

His lips twitched in a smile. "Actually, it was a storyboard class. Covered things like 'ow to prepare the art for animation. Of course, they do that on computers in the muggle world and not with a spell. Mum signed me up, thought I'd enjoy just about any art class and I did 'ave a good time--even if I was the youngest person there."

Maddox' lips twitched into a thin line. He had nodded at the introductions then the conversations flowed on around him. What he didn't appreciate were what he saw as slurs toward Slytherin. He glared a little at the girl (), not at all amused. He might not have been there long but he did have pride for his house. "Or maybe they didn't want to listen to gossip," he stated dryly, nodded once to Magnus then marched away from the small group. Hopefully the older boy who was standing alone wouldn't mind a little company. Irritated company.

"Poppy Blackwood, Slytherin House prefect. Nice to meet you. Say hi to my friend Eros for me."

Magnus didn't appreciate the comment the Slytherins. "You know, I think it's rather unfair to lump them all in like that. Actually, I think its a rather rude remark that shows little consideration or thought at all--just sheer bigoted thoughts really. Just like people think all werewolves are evil." He shook his head and walked away.

There's a group I'm socializing with a lot, and two boys in particular who may agree with me and would enjoy the challenge of a good clean competition. I hope you'll get to know Eirik () and Kyros ()."

Poppy reminded herself that outsiders had no way of knowing what kind of things transpired in the Slytherin dungeon and amongst her housemates.

She continued, "I regret my thoughtless comments. Of course not all Slytherins are alike. I hope you don't think badly of me. I'm finding it difficult to navigate through different social groups after being a bit of a hermit last term."

Kat stepped aside to let Maddox past. When he introduced himself, his formal tone made her automatically fall into one of her own. "I'm Katsumi Mattrick," she answered, bowing as she would in Japan. It wasn't her usual habit, but English introductions always seemed to be far more casual to her ears, and the difference had made her subconsciously switch manners. "I look forward to working with you."

She noticed Eros arrive, though she still didn't know his name. And then people were stereotyping houses again -- though she was thrown, because Poppy was Slytherin herself. "You don't have to be a Slytherin to trounce people," she said firmly, though not /quite/ sharp. Maddox and then Magnus both moved away, and Kat frowned ever so slightly. But instead of moving off with the purpose of speaking to those two, she looked at Eros instead. "Hey, I remember you from the workshop meeting. I'm glad you came." If he didn't want to talk she would move on.

[img align=left]https://i.imgur.com/4BvNQuW.png[/img] Poppy shrugged. She hadn't been mean, rather offhand actually, but she'd accept the loss. It was a good lesson, to be more careful in her word choice because she could have been expressed her thoughts much better.

I don't mind the little disagreement. It gives them something to talk about while waiting. Poppy's a good sport, she just lacks seriousness and is less prideful because of some of her own failings. I look forward to her maybe patching things up and getting to know Maddox (). She's not intentionally rude, but can definitely be insensitive.

At least Mattrick met his sense of formality. Not that he was trying to project it but he was a little stiff when meeting new people. "I look forward to it as well," he stated, inclining his head slightly.

Making fun of your own house was a 'friendly rivalry'? And this girl was a prefect? Prefect or not Maddox didn't appreciate it. Maybe he had too much pride and he certainly wasn't one of her so called friends to 'understand' her so called jokes. Not everyone found them funny obviously, his gaze straying to Magnus. "You should show more pride for your house." That was all he was going to say really. It wasn't his fault he was new and hadn't had time to socialize as he got used to everything. That was why he was at this little sign up begin with. He doubted very much that he would be making friends with Poppy. Her answer had been far ruder than his simple statement. If that was how she treated new members of her house while being a prefect no less then he certainly wanted as little to do with her as possible. There were certainly nicer ways she could have explained it.

Kyros smiled politely and greeted Beth as he wrote his name on the participant's list for the Triwizard Games. After the last workshop, he had been drowned in so much homework he had barely seen his friends, even less people from other Houses. His whole day was focused on going to class, studying afterwards, writing assignments, running to the library, fetching books for his private projects and reading or practicing spells until he fainted and woke up with his cat pawning at him for him to go to bad. A few weeks of this routine made him feel that after all this intelectual exercises, he needed some physical ones to compensate.

For that the new workshop would do just fine. He was glad Quidditch wasn't envolved - the boy didn't like it much - and a huge smile had come to his face with the idea of a snowball fight, as it made him remember the charity event. Once he had his box, he walked over to see the other students. He recognized a few, but not most of them, and there was no sign of his usual group. Shruging, he walked over to his prefect and her nearby colleagues.

"Hey. It's been awhile, hm? Good to see you two again." He greeted Magnus () and Poppy () politely, a small smile on his lips. He then nodded towards the ones he didn't know yet, turning on his usual charm with a slight bow. () () "I don't think we've met yet. ladies. I'm Kyros, from Slytherin. Nice to meet you all, and hope you're enjoying the term."

There was another one there too, but the guy stormed off before they could talk. Slightly raising an eyebrow, Kyros watched curiously as the man walked away, seemingly angry.

Magnus sighed. "I dont think badly of you. I just... I don't like people always saying things about Slytherins. I mean, most seem to be negative comments and... well from what I've discovered its foundless. Sure there are some stereotypes that seem to fit each 'ouse but...I think we should have less 'ouse rivalery and more building understandings rather than focusing on differences." He shrugged. "I guess I'm touchy cos I see 'ow it relates to my condition. People just don't wanna see past the 3 days as a monster some times."

He knew his girlfriend wouldn't like the monster comment and Maddox would be confused most likely given he didn't know Magnus was a werewolf. "Hey, Kryos."

[img align=left]https://i.imgur.com/vj3r8oQ.png[/img] Eros had heard Poppy's comment and really didn't think much of it. For the most part, it was true for him. He was here to compete. Ambition was, after all, one of the many characteristics that was taken into account when the Sorting Hat categorizes a student by house. It did come off as a little generic and he could see how some would be offended by it. But he wasn't really one to judge given his own personality. Plus, he knew Poppy enough that she didn't mean it in a bad light. Eros lazily waved to Poppy (), just to greet her and let her know he wasn't at all offended.

Eros saw that some students had joined him. The first one another male () had seemed irritated with the Slytherin prefect, but Eros didn't mind the company since it didn't seem like the student was going to bother him.

However, the other student (), did speak to him, much to his chagrin at first. He stared at her a bit and recognized her from the last workshop. "You're Magnus' girlfriend?," Eros actually decided to reply sternly, but with a slight curiosity in his tone, remembering she was with the lycan boy.

Maddox was not angry, he was a little irritated. There was a big difference. It would take a lot to make him angry actually, anger was such a... a crass emotion after all. He sighed under his breath and stepped a little further away from Eros since a girl decided to strike up a conversation with him. He really wished he was a little better at these social type settings. Being home schooled with not too much interaction with those his own age, then being shoved into school at the age of 13- well, he tended to come off stuffy.

Glancing at Mangus he felt a little curious but to outright ask him what he meant might be rude. It did stir a vague memory in the back of his mind. It would probably come to him in time. "I'm new to all this house stuff. I just don't see how making fun of another house, or your own house even, is any fun." Well, maybe he should have just kept his mouth shut. Besides it seemed like more people were arriving. Maybe they would start soon.
