You know what would be cool... if you design one design, it gets approved. Subeta takes that item and then just like the hair salon we can make it any color we want and it would only cost 250 CSC for a blue dress that was white, the original. Maybe streaks would be an additional 100 CSC. That is the only thing you can change, the color. Just putting it out there.

If lowers the price of submitting directly to shop, most of my stuff would end up here. I entirely hate dealing with keeping up with my own shop. I get stressed out when someone miss my release and they get sad/frustrated. I'm probably going to retire of the business with what's happening. Too tired to deal with all of this.

It's quite sad. People want Subeta to make each and every CW a "public propriety" but we pay for that at the base of everything. Unless it ends up being free (impossible), I cannot imagine that happening unless you're an artist and don't get to pay for your design + recolour.

Thank you for taking the time to read it! I was thinking since I've only started releasing about 6 months ago, I would probably be able to catch a bit more details versus veteran releasers who might be able to submit a CW with their eyes closed!!

It's definitely rough...there's an insane amount of pressure we're being put under because a lot of people don't understand/have unrealistic expectations/want something that is entirely a decision for Subeta to make. air hugs

ahh, seriously! i didn't anticipate the amount of sheer anger we got about this at all! of course there are going to be some disgruntled people, there's some people that just don't like cws as a concept/even what the site originally intended them to be and there's a lot more that simply do not understand it like, at all, but danggg. you're an actual angel. ❤️ (also random thing but i saw your wig and sweater got approved!! you've improved SO MUCH over a really short period of time, it's amazing!)

ahh, don't go, you seem like a super sweet person and that'd be sad!! i understand why though, it does seem like we're being put between a rock and a hard place by some of the user base. :/ i feel the same way and if it burns me out too much i may have to reconsider.

yeah, you're probably right! i've only been releasing for a year, but i definitely submit things much much faster than i did when i was first starting. i'm trying to keep that in mind for when i make the little voiceover things too, that's probably happening tomorrow!

another thing i thought of to add about the ping group directory thing, we could also include links to the person's main thread + cw shop! tbh i kinda wanna just go ahead and make it because i feel like it'd be a really good thing but since no one's really said anything about it and no one else has done much with much of anything on here yet (aside from closing the pawn, ofc, and staff might be doing more stuff on the back end but i have no idea) so it makes me kinda hesitate/feel like someone'll be like 'why'd you do this' if i do (even though 98% of me is like 'literally why would they do that' but y'know).

I'm at a constant bewilderment at the sheer amount of anger and frustration over the decision made about the pawn shop and how this one decision has opened a can of worms and every disgruntled and angry user on the site has emerged from teh woodwork to proclaim their utter disdain for a part of the site that has been working and changing over the course of 5 years! FIVE. This was launched at the end of 2012, so I suppose it's more like 4, but no matter- it's been a constant changing part of the site, trying to make it better for all involved, even the smaller un-involved side who only mildly care about cws by purchasing one out of the pawn shop once and awhile and yet believe they should be the ones to be in control.

I literally had no idea how utterly loathsome people were about the cw market in general and the jealousy is rampaging to a point that it shakes me. I have toyed off and on for the last few years about quitting cws myself and this just adds to that, even though I don't feel I can. Once I had my son, I couldn't devote the time I once had to making cws- no matter how much I enjoyed it and how much I liked working with others (and still can't for the most part).

It's incredibly insulting for anyone to imply that those making the cws (us artists) should just up and lower are already pittance of prices simply because /they/ don't think it's worth their money. I've heard this time and time again in all facets of work with being an artist, and my prices are incredibly low in comparison! When ppl say they are surprised that I am as low as I am, I don't feel that happy about it- I feel sad because I feel I have no choice. If I raise them too much higher, people tell me that's a ridiculous price and won't pay it, so I lower it just to get any business. And I hear again and again "It's just art". It's only my soul, but thanks. People don't care about artists in this place- those that do are few in comparison to the hoard that are turning into a mob asking the cw community to cow-tow to their demands in the name of 'fairness'. What about what's fair to us?

When someone dares to go to Pixar/Disney or Dreamworks and tells those people there that they are overpaid for just 'art' and they don't get utterly laughed at and thrown out on their asses, then they can come talk to be about what's fair for the struggling artist that's just simply trying to make extra money to help support her family.

Babe, don't you know it's because it's not a /real/ job -eyes roll outta my head- Like, I swear to god, it takes more time/effort/education to be able to art than it does to work retail or food service or most entry office jobs. I do not get why people still try to pretend like it's super easy work.

@ Reaper I remember awhile ago, I was talking to this one girl that had done some artwork on her computer and took it into class, I think at the time, she was in like 9th grade (or she was relaying to me this story of when she was in the 9th grade anyways) and showed her art teacher who, when told it was done with the computer, the teacher said "Well, the computer just does it for you..." and I wished I could find this so called art teacher and punch her in the face. It's funny when ppl think art isn't real work, when art is literally everywhere you look. Commercials, billboards, advertisements, movies, tv, magazines, buildings, architecture, cars, even down to their coveted cell phones- all started out with sketches and drawing- and still use art to convey the look to the world. It's in everything we see! I detest the thought process of those that think art isn't real work or that 'anyone can do it'. Yeah, sure... anyone can boil an egg, not everyone can paint the Sistine Chapel. sigh

And yes, at least it's out there, perhaps some of the ignorant will come around... eventually.

I know. It's utterly ridiculous and insulting that ppl think it's just so easy. It's like, oh, if it's so easy, then why aren't you doing it? Sure, anyone can /learn/ but I think it takes passion to really be an artist. When they think it's simple and doesn't matter, they think it's not worth a price. I mean, I totally understand some of the complaints about the price difference between official CS boutique items and customs, but that's the thing they are forgetting- it's /custom/, it's 'couture'. I'd love for any one of them to go into a Couture designers dress shop and demand of them to make them a personalized one of a kind dress no one else will have (or even 10 copies which is quite exclusive in the fashion world), but at WalMart prices. They'd be laughed out the door! And yet, that's what they want of the cw market, it's beyond frustrating. Bleh. Bleh I say! lol.

Also, sometimes no matter what you're taught, the art you produce is mediocre (like me, terrible art, can't do it). They also forget that staff is paid to release the CS things - as opposed to paying to release them, like the rest of us.

Exactly, and people seem to forget how much non-artist cw releasers put into the cws y'all put out there, it's like, der. That's why it was so stupid when ppl kept bringing up profit and no matter how many times you had to say it, they kept bringing it up. Even us artists don't make much profit, and the prices put out there are reflecting that. Plus, if you take into account the releases we make on our own boards, that's work we've done for free to sell for site currency. I've told people I wouldn't buy cws if I didn't make them cuz I use my profit to buy the cws I have off the csc profit I make- but that's because I save money by drawing the cws myself. All around, I think some ppl are just ignorant and rude.

I suggested an official subeta shop but with user-made items, which would be freaking awesome! I dont know if they'd allow user-made salon hair but that would be pretty neat as well n_n

No worries. Yes, that would be awesome. What would be awesome for user-made hair salon is that CW releasers wouldn't have to submit 20 shades of colors if you just buy the CW the one time and each recolor would cost a fraction of the cost in the hair salon.

Yeah. Some people just wanna hold onto their beliefs, no matter how easily they've been shown to be based on incorrect assumptions. I give up haha.

How about if there was a way we can sell a CW that we bought from a CW releaser and sell that item in our own CW shop since the pawnshop will be gone. This way we recoup more of the CSC we spent on it? Either slot price or at a discount. This CW would show up in the shop search but instead of directing the user only to the CW releaser's shop, it can redirect them to our shop as a secondary seller. Not sure if I am making any sense, but thought I'd throw this idea out there.

That idea seems a lot like the r200 shops idea they're coming up with (the ability to price CWs in CSC instead of using the forums/trades/etc).
