Can someone please tell me how to use adblock to block those images? As a kid I thought that stuff was really cool, but I've been on here for almost 10 years now and my stomach churns every time it comes up. I try to ignore it but it actually messes with my appetite. I really wish there was a way to filter them out too. Maybe there is some sort of compromise that can be reached?

Hehe I kind of find it funny (although yeah a little gross) - Pete loves food SO MUCH he will eat ANYTHINGGGGG.
And to stay on topic, I can sympathize with the OP because I find those items gross too... but I still feed them to my Gourmand pet, so I guess I'm not much better than Pete :P I just don't think about them too much, but I agree that using Adblock/word filters is the best solution. (And actually I didn't know about word filtering extensions! That's pretty cool.)
If you're using Adblock Plus, you can right-click the image, then select "Adblock Plus: Block Image". It gives you a popup with more options. Select the "Custom" option, with the full item image URL, hit "Add filter" and that should be it!
No to this suggestion. If certain images or words bother you, there are ways to filter them yourself. I've adblocked different users' sigs before and it's not a big deal.

Thank you! I wasn't sure how to do it!

No to this suggestion.
I'm scared of clowns so I blocked all the clown-related items.. simple.
The food items don't disturb me at all, I find them funny, I'm from the Ren and Stimpy generation, I've seen worst lol
So all this back and forth about who has a right to see what, where, stuff, aside.. I actually like the idea of underground quests. Just seems like it would be a fun thing. Especially for those who are into the gross stuff. :)
Yeah, I'd just adblock them. That's what I do with all the items that gross me out / get a visceral reaction (excrement, vomit, and graphically-mutilated snakes): just adblock them so I don't see 'em. As much as I'd love them removed, I can't really do much about it.
(That last visceral trigger's oddly specific, but there's a CW that has that in its item art and it sets me off. Subeta, please kindly don't add any items like that in the future, I'd really appreciate it.)
I personally don't get the humor of poop/vomit/bile food items, but I don't think they need to be censored. I do however support moving all the gross foods to Lost Skeleton and Half Baked that aren't there already (ie the poop soft serve cones in Icy Goods). I know I suggested that once and it was shot down for whatever reason.
I can't imagine what sort of coding would be needed for this sort of change but it's probably a lot and therefore not really feasible as a solution.
If I have claimed a Dance from you and do not immediately Dance I will get back to you.
Always Buying:
[/font]i never really understood the poop items or the poop aesthetic. it seems like every year there's more.
but yeah this isn't really feasible for gameplay. i would just adblock them.
i would like everything in this category to be in restocked in one place though, as suggested here and elsewhere. idk about yall but i wouldn't buy poop from my local grocer so i dont get why they restock there tbqh.
I have to say I kind of like the idea of moving them all to another store. Gross looking food just looks out of place with the rest of the fresher, regular looking foods.
I never felt the need to adblock any of it but it just makes more sense that the zombies are in that stuff.
While I'm not bothered by these things, I know many that are.
However, features like these are never a breeze to implement, especially because it involves so many parts of the site. There are other suggestions that may work (moving disturbing foods to a more suitable shop), it won't fully prevent the issue, for example in quests.
Adblock and other variants seems to be the best way to go, though it is a pain to block every new item that one doesn't like.
Yes for the poop items to be moved to the underground.
The mouthy muffin is fine, though. That one doesn't really need to be moved, it's weird and quirky, not actually gross.
Yeah, I don't see an issue with moving "gross" items around to more appropriate shops. It would make a bit more sense.
If it's just moving the items to the underground to fit the story aesthetic for the site I'm fine with that.
That's what I've been saying, after it was pointed out to me in the first post that a filter was a bad idea for numerous reasons.....and someone suggested an alternative. Good lord! Please stop belly-aching that I want something that I don't even want, for crying out loud!
