First day back was late start for us where the kids don't show up until 9:30, and every wednesday is late start, so that was a nice first week ^_^ Still one of the longest weeks ever, though. The groups of kids I have in the tutoring room don't seem that bad, though. Little talkative third hour, but we'll probably just move seats around come Monday.

That sounds like an awesome summer vacation!! :D

First week back at school just seemed super slow even with some shorter days in there. Classes don't seem that bad, though, so I'm happy :) Monday we have off, and we plan on trying to get reservations in the morning for Yosemite. The entire park sells out in like...a minute, so we will be racing x) Last time we were there was with Dad. I want to go back so badly :( I love Yosemite, and I want Andrew to see it. He's never been there.

Another snowy morning here and boy did they seem like they were slacking on the roads. Good thing it's a normal work from home day for me.

Damn that's pretty messed up! Sorry that happened to ya. There's some stuff you can put in your eyes at night before you go to sleep that will make them feel wonderful in the morning. I've had a lot of problems w/ dry eyes so I've used a lot of different stuff. Also learned from the optometrist that a lot of the advertised stuff like Visine and Clear Eyes are good for taking out the red, but really only dry out your eyes even more.
Hope you've been able to get a bit more sleep in the past few days.

Cats are so entertaining. I also love how much they sleep because pretty much at any time of the day, I can take a nap and be sleeping with them. <3 I have a kitten that's about 4 months old and I swear he's just now getting in to the crazy kitten phase.

The whole park sells out?!! How is that even possible? I guess I don't understand the whole process and what you need to get tickets for and what all the ticket encompasses.
Kids are so zombie like this time of year when it's cold and dreary, lol. Then about March, they start realizing that the end of school is just around the corner.
So glad my daughter will be done w/ it in May until she decides what she wants to do.

Think I'll go play around in the wardrobe. At least I'm getting a bit more enthused about that. Hope everyone takes care. 🌹

Morning Everyone! I've been around kinda lurking a lot. I've been getting into my city building game a ton, so mainly I'm playing that while messing around on here some. I am around though if someone needs me! <3

- You know I don't mind the cold, especially when it brings with it the potential for snow! Which, it seems like this might be. They're calling for something on Wednesday most likely. Raleigh looks like it'll get a wintry mix, but we might get the snow, so yay! :D We moved just enough to the west and north that we hit in a very different spot when the winter storms come through!

There have been too many winters that I've had bad tires and had to drive in to work which not only adds more stress, but it really makes you wonder what people do in places that get several feet of it. I'm sure a large portion of them don't have work from home opportunities and we didn't until a few years ago (which is odd b/c we've had people working off site for a very long time). The whole thing is irritating when your job and income depend on whether you get to work w/out ditching it or getting in to a wreck. :( I would much rather - and this is my goal for the hopefully near future - to not live in an area that has snow. I'd rather visit the snowbound states than to live in them.

I'm just not a winter weather type of person. :P Although it's 43 in Tampa today so that's pretty damn chilly, for there.

- If I lived in an area where snow was a constant thing, I probably wouldn't like it too much either (and I'm sure once I'm out of the school stage, where things are easily canceled, I won't be a big fan either). I mean, I'm a huge fan of it coming on a Friday night so it can be mostly cleared by week-day time, but it's never that nice. Usually around here we only get one really nice snow, and then a few smaller ones a year. And those smaller ones, if you know how to drive not like an idiot, are usually okay to get out on. Even the 'bigger' snow is still not too bad to go out in if you are one who needs to for work, etc. Especially since all the schools will be closed, which takes that traffic off the road, making it a bit safer.

I just like snow honestly. If we could like.. get REAL snow, like, the type you could plow easily, it'd be great. We just seem to get lots of ice, which you can't really plow or do much with other than salt and hope it helps melt it.

my dad is getting better daily. Great progress. I am not.

People visit Yosemite from all over the world, and at 7am pst, you can make reservations for four months in advance. So today the window that opened was for May 15 through June 14. We got May 30th through June 5th!! :D The next widnow opens February 15th. Me, Debbie and Mom each had 9 tabs open for three different spots, that spanned three different weeks. We only got the one spot, for the one week! Mom got it, but I paid for it xD Everything sold out in well under a minute o.o It's insane how quickly it sells out. Day-use passes can be gotten anytime, but we got camping reservations. In either case, the pass allows you entrance to the Park, and then you can do whatever you want. Hiking, sight-seeing, etc. A couple things need more, but that is generally for the tougher hiking trails and the like.

I'll take the zombies, lol. Closer to the end of the year, they'll start panicking about the classes they aren't passing...that is always fun. "I'm not passing! What can I do!?" "Uhhh...have you tried your homework and completing missing assignments?" "No..." "Start there, then." lol

If you don't like winter, you should come here to Arizona! :D We just have hot, not so hot, and this is pretty nice xD

I love snow, but I rarely get to see it. Got it a few times back in California, but since then, I haven't seen it for several years now :( Iwas hoping I would get to see some up in Sedona, or even Flagstaff (it's about an hour away from Sedona), but it was too warm there, as well. This whole winter has been too warm.

Got up early this morning and got 6 nights in Yosemite reserved!! I am so excited! It'll be hard going back there without Dad, since we would go every year when we were little. Like...every picture I have taken of Yosemite was with him. We haven't been there since he passed. But now I can share my favorite place with Andrew C: He's never been there, so I will be taking him all over that Park xD We're going to try and bring the pups with us, too ^_^

Roads were absolutely terrible this morning. I already had a kink in my neck when I woke up and the stress I got from driving on those roads made it even worse. Would rather drive in high amounts of snowfall then all the compacted snow and ice.

Don't get me wrong, I do love seeing a winter wonderland, and even playing in it - when I have nothing to do. lol Ice is not s/thing I'm fond of whatsoever. Was in a bad accident w/ my mom when I was 16 b/c the roads were ice and people were driving like straight up idiots, which is how we got hit, spun around and hit again.

I'm glad your dad is getting better but really sorry to see that you're not. Sending some positive vibes your way and hoping you recover soon.

Ohh I see... so it's the camping that you have to reserve. Wow, I can't believe how fast it sells out. I would love just a day pass to see just some of it but I can't imagine trying to get a place to camp. :P Seems like it would be almost too busy and touristy.
I have a feeling that you'll sense your dads presence around you when you're there. Don't let it make you sad b/c you know that's not what he would want. <3

I would love to be in a drier climate, but I also have a beach fetish so while my shorter term goals are working towards a truck and camper, my long term goal is to end up down south. :D

Did you survive some of the bad weather? I wish I could send some of what I've got going on here your way. It feels like spring. I sat outside with no coat on waiting for the train today. I can't believe it's January.

lol I survived. We just had spring like weather here about a week ago. Serious roller coaster weather.
