I checked out the Lambent Guardian Crystal with Tharg, who is T8 and it scaled up to: Attack - 9 earth, 10 magma, 9 fire Defense - blocks 15 fire Heals - 7 percent

Since it takes the Healer Slot, at Tier 8, I think it's better to use the Large Gutting Knife. And at lower levels it looks like you're trading the attack plus block for less healing (I think) than the Malevolent Grimfruit, so it looks like it may only be useful for certain challengers. Unless I'm missing something. Next time Gulp is battling I'll try to remember to check it out.

Thank you. Yes, the lack of healing is what made him hard. I was getting sooo close, even had one tie, so I finally just resorted to using a few pylonics. Don't usually like to spend sP on something like Battle Quests, but it was so close and he just made me mad. :-)

Right now my big problem is Zephyre. Tried the Recycle Blaster and looks like I am definitely going to need to borrow a second blaster to get past this one. Just using the Recycle Blaster wasn't enough and my UltimaPlus tag never seems to steal anything from him. I really hate not being able to use any of my finally decent weapons! :-)

Oh hmm, I thought it blocked more fire than that. Prodigy staff would actually be better for the fire block and the heal maybe. Large gutting knife is good against opponents that do light damage where as the crystal would be for anyone that does fire.

Yeah that's why cobalt and SE scrolls are so useful for him. Blasting also helps make him easier as does a negating pylonic.

Zephyre is a real pain in the butt for Oranos. Right now I am at 8 wins and 15 losses. I was going to go for the last wins before the next TBT challenger comes out. Getting a few more stats should help with the last two wins since his curse really makes things difficult. I don't think you can steal from him and he can't be frozen. It's the gigaton bomb that activates the curse so if you could blast at least one of those it makes the battles with him a lot easier. The charged tower shield and trident have been working really well for Oranos against him. Battles are just taking too long now that he has like 8k health.

I have blasted one gigaton bomb and that doesn't seem to be enough, So far he's beaten me 3 times with no wins or ties, and it hasn't even been remotely close. You may well be right about the stealing since I often have surprisingly good success stealing with that UltimaPlus Tag. So far, even having blasted one bomb, I only get a couple of hits before he uses the other and that just doesn't do it for me. And I don't have enough scroll offense/defense to last.

Good luck to Oranos. If I do manage to beat him, I almost certainly won't try for more than five wins (but I will probably see if Tharg can beat him too).

He has two gigaton bombs so blasting one still means he has a chance to use the other =x Yeah the scrolls are the only thing that keep me alive when he uses the bomb. You definitely need cobalt scrolls for him.

I was using swash + PBB as my main weapons and also had reviver, pquill, soma, rblaster, energized helmet, and mecha. All of my scrolls were freezing scrolls except for one healer and one infinite use scroll. I froze him first turn, then double blasted then hoped for another freeze while I double blasted and used the mecha to boost. I think you can definitely get a few wins on him, if not 5.

Save Centropolis, Save the Underground, Save Atebus... I kinda want there to be a plot revolving around these cash shop challengers (or at the very least, one final boss challenger, like the scientist with the research notes)

It seems like at least there will be a challenger from each land, because if you count all of the main ones (except Peka Glade, but that's not really a land on its own) you end up with 11. That leaves 1 missing to be like a final boss or something for the 12th month.

That's true, although I don't think they would do separate for all of the parts of Atebus. It would also make sense to coordinate the lands with the seasons, like we got Shadowglen during Survival and now Coda Caves just before Masquerade.

It wouldn't be too hard to match the remaining lands with like summer/fall/winter or something. I guess we'll just have to wait and see ~

I wouldn't be surprised to see either Ziara or Piña Park get one actually, they're pretty different from the caves, and that'd make sense to do if we're short by one land.

Yeah that's true, I suppose. They also seem to be based around fictitious creatures once again (kind of). Like sewer beast and underground mole monster, there have been myths and urban legends about things like that in real life. The new one doesn't fit that theme quite as much, but it will still be interesting to see what the future ones end up being.

I think either or did say in the first challenger news comments that it was an urban legend theme so they'll all sorta be like that?

I'm guessing next month will be lower tier and we'll get an impossible challenger every 3-4 months

You're probably right about that though, I know they like to have a variety of difficulty in the challengers.
