hey, mind if i drop by to ask for some guidance? c: started playing again after a long hiatus, and i've been trying to get (back) into battling.

right now i have a mid-tier 6 pet with a reasonable low-budget set (recycle blaster, soma tablets, reborn icewand, frost thorn, minotaur knocker + pquill, freezer). haven't invested much into scrolls, though (i have like ... singed stuffing and one cobalt eternal?), since i'm poor and everything seems to have inflated in my absence, haha.

with battle quests, i can get to level 20 most of the time - hustler is an instaloss for me, and i can beat slavam but he usually takes more than a few tries. i've beaten a few of the level 20 challengers as well (e.g. moradon, lightning sylph), but most of the time i can't, and 21+ ones are completely impossible for me.

any general tips on direction would be appreciated! i've been using mrcool's battle guides mostly, but i'd really appreciate some idea of what i should be looking for as upgrades, what i can do to improve battle quest consistency, what i should be expecting as 'normal progression' at this level, etc.

Your set looks really good! You could save up for a Reviver Of The Lion for more healing at some point, but it isn't completely necessary. Level 20 in BQs for a T6 pet is average, so you are right where you should be. You may not be able to get to 21+ until you are well into T8 so I would do your next weapon upgrade then.

For scrolls, you definitely want to look into buying an Ocean Currents Scroll or an Aftershocks Scroll a some point. They are expensive, but you will use them forever so buying one will be a great investment. Some affordable freezing scrolls you might want to look into are Assassin Scroll or Gelaspell Scroll. Otherwise, I would invest in a few more Colbalt Eternal Scrolls and Fatal Fire Scrolls for defense.

You are doing very well! The weapons you have are good for tier 6, I would definitely work on your scroll set and increasing your AP. Level 21+ is T8 range, possibly T7 depending on your build and scroll set. The cursed effigy is the easiest extremely hard challenger to beat in the 21 - 25 levels, except for maybe bonesaw, but healing being disabled makes him difficult. The best scrolls for him are and . I would equip a few of each of those. Those scrolls are also good against the hustler. Freezing scrolls like and are also good for the hustler and any other challenger that can be frozen. If those are out of your price range, you could try that block 75 fire and have a low chance freeze. You will also want to pick up an infinite use scroll. The two suggested are very good (Ocean Currents Scroll and Aftershocks Scroll). A scroll like morosbane can also be good to give you extra heal if you need it.

thanks for the advice, i really appreciate it! looks like i won't be making much progression on battle quests until i grind out quite a few more stats - which'll give me plenty of time to also save up and see if i can improve my scroll set and ap. sounds like a plan, let's hope i don't lose focus. :')

Or if you know where to locate information like this I would greatly appreciate it. I can find out item info from subetalodge but I cannot figure out where battle challenger information is kept.

the regular mad scientist you unlock right away from that is around t10, and when you beat that challenger 10 times, you get the mutant scientist who is a t12 challenger :)

No worries, this last week has been super crazy and stressful for me from work bs. I was looking at damage to loss ratio and if I had lost as many battles as someone else then I would have done more damage. However, I wasn't getting in enough damage in the allotted time period so my overall damage was less. It would just be better for me to lose more battles per 6 hours than do more damage per battle. Congrats on your win against cursed effigy! He is tough since you can't heal. Definitely equip that crystal. It's a solid fire blocker and you don't see many of those at low tiers. It will also helped against cursed effigy.

Just keep training and you will get to the high tiers in no time!
