It's . From my personal experience I actually focused on my strength Health (OMG why do I make so many typos today?) until it was double my Str and Def, and then focus on boosting Str + Def, leaving only Speed to the training centre :P I actually have been quite erratic when it comes to training patterns. I just focus on whatever stat between Str, HP and Def to help me beat the next BQ opponent the earliest possible.
According to 's guide the Snow Fairy is for higher T10/ low T11 so yeah I'd say she's not as scary as her face makes her out to be :P. She's annoying with her chain-freezing though, so she can actually take down a T12 pet easily if it doesn't manage to activate the anti-freeze blessing early or frequently enough.
And thank you! I'm sure you'll feel proud too with every imp. challenger you can beat. T11-T12 is the most exciting phase me thinks. We've got quite many challengers who make battling actually a fun challenge and provide a great sense of satisfaction and achievement when we finally manage to beat them, even just for a couple of times.
Thank you :D She's sure very annoying with her healing too (and that darn scroll). Win 5-10 might have to wait until I have higher strength like you said. Otherwise I'd just hack away at nothing because when she heals she always heals more than I can damage.
Thank you. It's really interesting to know. And thanks for the link to Purge's post too. I'll keep Speed in mind for when I want to experiment with the next builds for my other pets.
[edit] I believe when battlers reach the level cap they'll use either the EXP or stat boosters or both to increase their individual stats :D
You Won! You have defeated Crithbolcan Verdugo earned 3500 EXP Points! BQs done.
Do you mean the hard cap at 5k? I am no where near that. If I need to train level then I will use some exp to increase level and continue to train defense and speed in the training center. Once I reach my stat goals for strength and health, then I boost defense and speed. Right now I am past my goal of 4k strength and 6k health so now I am using experience on defense and speed. They are still far enough behind that I haven't need to raise level.
I just finished her off and she was a breeze with my 4,030 strength and over 6k health. I have been busy battling with my other pets and trying to reach stat goals that I have been leaving a lot of challengers after 5 wins. Probably when you hit 3500 strength you can get the other 5 wins. Definitely don't forget the dark water potions. I also used OC scroll as my constant, gotf when I needed to heal, I used the void scroll so I could double blast first turn, then trident + mecha + SE scroll second turn.
Yeah I had to use my water potions when her health was in the red. I think I'll wait a little bit more like you said. I don't have the OC scroll. I do hope they'll bring it back with Crawbeast some time this year, otherwise I'm really reluctant to pay 70 mil for it atm, seeing I missed one which was sold for 35 mil a month earlier :'( (which makes me hate the Hydra series even more, lol)
Yeah that was kind of funny to see people's reactions even though staff kept repeating that the limits weren't permanent yet. I think people just don't like change, even if it ends up being not so bad in the end.
I tried fighting against Malerias familiar just to see, and I came pretty close but then she got me with a critical hit. At least I know I'm getting close to being able to beat more of the impossible ones.
I meant in the training center, when stats to 2.5x above level :P
guess it's a good time as any to save up parched baguettes? :P
[edit] I know! At least the shop/gallery change turned out to be pretty good hehe.
I can get Malerias Familiar down to half HP I think :P You're further down the path to victory than I am ;)
Early congratz :D! If you're getting close you might get her with a little more stats or a few tries!
Yeah, make sure you visit the Forj before taking on the Fairy. The former gives out quite a lot of parched baguette crystals. You'll be rolling around in them even after you've slotted some onto your weapons for the fairy XD
You Won! You have defeated The Mage 5 times! You won a(n) Impossible token to use in the battle shop! The Mage drops: Wind Mage Amulet Ice Mage Amulet Mastering Death You earned 16403 sP for beating The Mage! Verdugo earned 5905 EXP Points!
DONE WITH THIS JERK FOR NOW.
I was high T10/low T11 when crawbeast was around and I was determined to win that scroll because I needed it. Hopefully he will return but I think there are still quite a few TBT challengers we haven't seen yet.
Rereading that and comparing it to what I remember from doing those tests with slaglord, I wonder if the difference in speed triggers a range that is relatively narrow, like from 10% flat rate up to a max rate of 25% or something liek that. I only did sample sizes of about 100 runs with each pet, so its possible my sample size wasn't big enough to see a smaller difference like that?
I also look at critical hits from the standpoint of trying to prevent my opponent from critting me, where it sounds like many of you guys are saying that you want to try and crit hit back? In terms of beating challengers that you couldn't otherwise beat, very rarely does extra damage make the difference between victory and defeat.
If I had to model how I think crit hits work based on comments by BAs and various tests here is how I would model it:
The way you crit hit an opponent is different the the rate that the opponent crit hits you
Opponent crit hits you: Speed is the off switch. If you cross over your opponents speed, they can no longer crit hit you. If you have less than your opponents speed, the rate = opponents_damage/your_defensive_icons x Constant
You crit hit opponent. If your speed is greater, you can crit hit opponent with rate = opponents_damage/your_defensive_icons x Constant If your speed is less: you have a small chance to crit hit opponent with rate determined by the numerical difference between you and the opponent. Based on reading the post you quoted, I think it is probably based on some multiple of 500 or 1000 difference to set the rate. This is probably the component that needs the most testing (but is also the part that is by far the least important.)
Evidence: When fighting slaglord with 1700 speed pet, you do not get a lot of critical hits, in fact in 50 rounds neither the pet nor slaglord had a single crit hit. This suggests that the rate is definitely not set by multiples of speed, and probably not the difference in speed at all, but rather than the difference or ratio between damage and defense.
Crit strike mods tend to trigger critical hits. This seems to suggest that damage plays a role in triggering critical hits.
Based on this model (and your results with horn being extremely effective vs regular opponents):
How to fix speed to be relevant: Lower the numbers on the opponents. On most opponents the speed is approximately equal to their other stats, but when we train evenly, we can generally beat opponents with multiples of our stats. Speed should be by far the lowest stat, and should be set according to which size pet the challenger is being designed for, rather than some arbitrary number near the other stats.
Just glancing at the EX-Imp challengers I would make arguments for these numbers: Saggitarius 1000 Sandragon 1000 The Gate Keeper 700 (you can beat this guy with a tier 7 pet, but he has speed of a tier 11 pet) Malerias Familiar 1500 Prodigy - I would be fine leaving at 6000 since it has such a reputation for being so swingy. the point would be to bring down a l
Many of the smallest challengers actually have speed as their highest stat, making it completely irrelevent at lower levels.
Then the other way would be to incentivze large numebrs of wins vs challengers so you end up battling them to the [point you need to shut off crit hits to progress.

Was it very difficult going for 5 wins against him? I bet it would be for me because I still don't have a healing water blocker. For now I use the Frostbite Amulet to beat him in BQs and it's nice when its freezing activates, but it hurts because it doesn't heal. What did you use for him if you still remember it? Please don't worry if it's too long ago and you don't remember every item in your set back then :D
I hope he'll come back later in the year if he comes back this year at all. Right now I doubt if I could really go for 5 wins with my stats and sets.
Congratz on your wins against the Mage. Lol he completely deserves it. The rate at which he gives out tome these days is abysmal.
You're right. Every win helps! You're keeping up with BQs every day too so I don't see her being a big threat for your pet anymore :D Soon you'll just steamroll her into oblivion :D
Congratulations on your Crithbolcan & mage wins !
That's the plan :D It's incredible how in 9 days I've made almost 250k EXP (BQ+ battles outside of BQ)
Makes the 450k EXP I earned in like two years look meaningless and pathetic LOL (I think the battle reset was two years ago, anyway :P)
No it's not pathetic at all :D 450k is still a great start for a casual-turn-serious battler. When I first tried my skills in BQ I was a T3 or 4, and got beaten by Cursed Irion lol (and then quit BQs for good) XD. When I started taking battling seriously, all I got was 44k EXP. I echo your sentiment though, I have missed out so much on BQs, but I'm glad they reformatted it so that we can earn consistent EXPs these days. The way I understand it, we could earn either very little or very much EXP per day with the old BQ system.
[edit] Speaking of the reset, I'm such a spoiled brat for saying this but where's our promised reset XD? Also impatiently waiting for this month's CS challenger. Hopefully it will be released later tonight.
do you still think it's not pathetic if I told you Tziety's been T11 since the tiers were introduced? :P
I think during the old BQ system you could get an extremely hard opponent in lower levels of BQ and easy ones in higher levels, because it was random? I think you could do your 20 (30 with GA) quests and quit as many as you could..... I'm not sure, but that's a bit of how I remember them.
All this talk of exp reminds me, where we not told a reset was coming begining of last year?
I have no clue . I went to investigate, and the last reset occurred on May 8th, 2015, but I haven't heard of another reset since.
Not it's not pathetic. You really made great progress with Tziety even if you decided to take a temp. break from battling after the tier system came into effect. For years I had been on and off with training my main pet and hardly ever touched BQs at all. I was all for the profit back then so seeing that I earned no sP doing the BQs (and even wasted sP healing my pet up) I just didn't get the motivation to continue training that way. In retrospect it was so naive of me haha.
I couldn't remember the old BQs very clearly, but it sounds like it how you describe it. I think one of the battlers I stalked earned more than 40,000 EXP per day, which was the highest amount of EXP he said he earned for one day doing BQs. While I would love having that much EXP (basically 10 free stat points for a T13 pet, which isn't bad at all!), being guaranteed how much EXP we can earn these days are much preferable imo.
Yeah, I might try some more against her and Flamagia later to see if I can manage at least one win each, but I'll probably need to get my stats up before getting more wins.
I'm also looking forward to seeing what this month's CS challenger will be ~
I know there is apparently supposed to be a reset coming, but I don't know if they ever gave any hint as to when exactly it will happen.
With old BQs, you were given a random opponent, and you would get EXP based on which opponent you beat. If you couldn't beat them you could skip them.
Regular users has 20 quests Gold accounts got 30 quests. EXP stat costs were also fixed for all pets at the same numbers.
So small pets basically got like 1-2 stat per day, and big pets could get between 20-60K EXP per day if I remember correctly? It was very random, and sucked for small pets.
People have been talking about this reset for something like 2-3 years now I think.

I had two healers, two blasters, the energized helmet, RV, and I had to borrow the Tempestuous Bladed Gauntlet and AU. So definitely T11. I didn't have the mecha at the time but that would make things a little easier. I don't remember my scrolls but I'm sure it consisted of my freezers, gotf and probably skelly. Possibly fatal fire scrolls as well. The first 3 wins weren't so bad, 4 and 5 were tough. 30 losses and 1 tie. My health was higher but everything else was still low. His death rolls make him really difficult, especially when he uses both. If you can blast at least one you will stand a better chance. I also noticed that when his health was in the red he tends to spam the death roll 3-4 times in a row, which makes the battle longer and gives him more time to crit hit you or freeze you if your blessing gives out. You definitely have the stats to beat him now. Once I hit 3k strength he was already easy to consistently beat during BQs unless I somehow got extremely unlucky. Hopefully he will be back!
Thank you! I hate that jerk so much. I could get more wins on him but he has these ridiculous tomes that either instant kill you or heal him for all his health so battles with him can just be luck. I had one battle where I literally generated like 10 bullets and he stole my natasha instead so all my bullets were junk -.-'
Yeah I didn't do BQs for the longest time because the old system completely sucked for smaller pets. I got peanuts (maybe something like 5k exp?) so it wasn't worth it. The change makes things a little more balanced. High tiered pets get less experience but low tier pets can get more experience and you have the chance to skip and repeat a level now (twice with a GA) instead of skipping each level.
Heh yeah. I have been indirectly talking to I guess one of the battle admins and it's supposed to happen when there is a break between events but new events just keep coming out. As much as I want all of that experience, it's going to take forever to battle with all of my pets again on all of the challengers.
Thank you, makes me feel much better hearing reading you say post this. I've always kinda felt like I wasted too much time (which I did), and that it's not worth the time or effort to start now. At least up until like two weeks ago, when I poked around here and kinda established myself on this thread :P I've been able to really see what I need to do, and what I thought was tedious and boring turned out to be fun and challenging.
I am not sure if this is something I needed to make Subeta more fun, but I've really been enjoying it. I probably just burst out of the comfort zone, and it's been great.
I've always been about the profit, or impossible goals that take forever and a day to accomplish (hello Hoarder Achievement, I'm talking about you! lol) But maybe I wasn't meant to dive into battling while I was a student who also worked, nor when I had a full time job that eventually blocked Subeta and other gaming things, because I had to learn things from zero. I have the time now, so it feels fitting :P
While 40k EXP a day sounds delicious, I'd rather have a constant range of EXP to earn a day than getting 40k one day, then 15k the next :P
maybe next week you'll have boosted enough to get more wins ;) I can't wait to get another challenger on my list hehe I just hope it's not a multiple use item again :P
I'll bbl, going out to get something to eat, I'm starving haha
