He joined her in a few jumps and started laughing. It was good to unwind a little. Then he sensed Katsumi's disapproval. He gave her his best smile, "Come on, Kat, please. A little fun is good! Come on..." he pleaded. "We'll practice more after a few bounces... you can curse Aria and she can practice on you."

((I'm amused because I keep wanting to call her Kat, but that's not where a Japanese name would break...plus I have a Kat and Katsumi is nothing like her. Actually mostly because of the latter. But it's totally an English nickname. ^.^; ))

Katsumi frowned at the other two students. They could bounce /after/ they finished practicing, couldn't they? That should come before goofing off. She hadn't jumped around -- just the one hop, and that was when she was crossing over to Magnus. It hardly counted.

A second thought pushed that idea from her mind, and her eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Wait...what did you call me?" she asked the grinning boy. "That's not...." She trailed off. "Huh, I guess it is, in English. In Japanese you wouldn't break a word there. 'Tsu' is all one kana." She hesitated. She'd shared the fact more out of reflex, in order to have something to say while she processed an idea. "No one's ever given me a nickname before," the girl added, a faint hint of a blush creeping into her cheeks.

"Well," he said, "could call you Tsu if you'd rather... or your full name...." he saw the ever so slight colour in her cheeks and thought it was adorable, not that he'd say anything about it. "You can call me Gus if you want... or um..." he hesitated, "or by me middle name, which is Hotness." The twinkle in his eyes belayed the seriousness in which he said the obvious fake name. "Tell ya what, if you 'ave a bit o' fun now, I promise to read a whole chapter about the Greek myths of the constellations... Plllleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaseeeee" His eyes looked like a little puppy as he asked again

"Your middle name is probably something more like Tease. And Gus?" Katsumi wrinkled her nose. "Besides, there's an N in there. I think Magnus is an excellent name, anyhow. ...But you can call me Kat, I guess, if you want to. ...It'd be nice to have a nickname." She considered his proposal. "...I wasn't going to make you learn the myths if you didn't want to. They're not directly relevant. But since you offered...deal!" She leaped into the air and bounced as high as she could. "You're a bad influence, Magnus," she added, with a small half-smirk half-smile.

"Actually, I really don't 'ave a middle name, at least not that I know of." He shrugged not caring too much for the nickname himself, "its what Paul calls me sometimes, very American, I think. But I do like me name." She liked it--well at least that's what he surmised. "Excellent," he beamed and joined in the jumping. He couldn't believe he got her to agree, but he was very happy now. Just a little bit of frivolity.

(( at least Keel haul isn't so bad. then its beerfest, then halloween... its looking like I won't be able to do the patrouns until November...which lol term ends on the 5 th, so really I just have to pick a two week span and hope for the best.

(( Well I understand that the patronus test on Pottermore just went live, if that might help you? =P Katsumi's is an eastern dragon. Probably not a big one, but she has a love of dragons in fiction, and as a symbol found in Japanese culture. And western dragons are just awesome. She connects to them -- that is, fictional and symbolic, not actual dragons. Those she likes, but it's a bit different. In some ways, it's a symbol of how she fits in both worlds, Muggle and wizarding. They don't always have an accurate picture of things in the other, but she bridges the gap.

...Now I'm wondering what her animagus form would be, if she had one.))

(( you can only take it once :/ So I know what my personal one is, but still not sure what Magnus' would be. I have a possibility which would be a little silly but also make sense... so maybe I'll go with that. I figured out Paul's though. Dragons rock XD. Magnus' animagus would probly be a cat if he could. Paul's I think maybe a bear or bird... lol

would be a cool pet lol though I don't think the dogs would be happy anyway. ))
