Thank you for the birthday wishes! I'm having kind of a crappy day tbh because my period decided to time itself poorly this month >< So I'm in bed, with cramps, all that fun stuff lol. But I'm in a decent mood despite it all, and seeing birthday wishes here really cheered me up.

I totally agree, if you're trying to build good will in people that are new to your scene the last thing you should do is jump on them if they ask a question or a make a mistake. The scavenger hunt was such a huge time suck and if you (like me) didn't understand just one tent then you couldn't move on and the time was 100% wasted. I think at least they should have let people send their answers to the tents they did get even if they didn't find all of them. There was one or two people who ran events that seemed friendlier. I do feel bad about complaining about it at all because they are giving away CWs and CSC and prices are just so crazy right now that it is really generous even if it mostly just went to friends and it's more then I've ever done and clearly a lot of work went into it. I just wish they had been more welcoming and helpful.

And yeah, the prizes were REALLY valuable for a contest. Most contest hosters (myself included) have prizes worth 10M or less, or maybe up to 30M if they're really generous. And for that kind of money, you can't give away even 1 CW, let alone a bunch of them, so their collection is kind of amazing...

And who knows, maybe some of us will still win some? It seems like there are still quite a few, so they'll have to have a bunch of raffle winners, I guess...

I've been saving up sP since I started and will eventually pour it into a CSC investment for my HA - I have the same problem, I wouldnt know which items to start with since I love SO many. I have a few "dream" HAs saved in my Wardrobe that are full of CWs and I think I might start by trying to work toward one of those. I've never done any battle challenges, are the rewards really good for restocking? I haven't really put any time in to equipping or battling with my pets and I'm not sure where to start.

And thank you for the idea of homepaging the baths!! I've accidentally missed a day too many times and it's so frustrating! Great idea ❤️

hey i skimmed your guys' back and forth about the CW Fest contest and i gotta ask what made you feel certain people were exclusionary? like, was it things you experienced or is is based on what you heard from others? if that came out snarky i don't intend so i'm just genuinely curious about people impressions after the event. worked really hard on putting things together but i actually didn't join in on every event so i didn't see how a lot of it played out. i do know the intended goal was to bring more people into CWs and make it a little more accessible so it's intriguing to see how that goal fared

I could see that a ton of work went into it and like I said I do feel bad about complaining about it but I've got to say, just on a gut level, I came away with a bad taste in my mouth from it. Personally I had trouble with the scavenger hunt portion of the event and unfortunately that was pretty much my first contact with the event, so it flavored the rest of it. There were a lot of rules that were sort of spread out over several posts and frankly it was pretty hard to keep track of them all; so after spending several hours searching for tents and working the tents I got to a tent I couldn't make any headway on and couldn't move onto the next until I finished that one and had no way to show that had done any work on it. I skimmed back through the rules on one of the pages and went back to the main thread to ask if there was any chance that I/we could get a hint on the tent (whatever number it was); I made sure not to give away any information about where the tent was or what type of puzzle it would be, I didn't want to spoil anything. I got what felt like an angry response about how I wasn't suppose to post questions there and I should have read the rules and how the tents had been tested and so on. The last thing I wanted to do was mess things up for someone else or make someone angry so I felt really bad about it and also couldn't move on with the hunt so that was hours down the drain and a scolding. Not a good feeling at all and basically just because I accidentally asked a question in the wrong place.

I think it was the next day there was a post about how 'some people' had started the hunt early so that wouldn't be fair to others who had followed the rules so the hunt was being down graded. I knew that I was one of the people that had 'started early' but I had read the directions closely on when to start and the rules had said that the hunt would start tomorrow (no day or time specified just tomorrow) so I checked the time stamp on that post and started working the tents 'tomorrow' relative to the time stamp on the post. I apologized for having been part of the problem because I really did feel bad about having contributed to wrecking what was obviously a very well planned event that clearly took tons of work. She told me it was fine, I wasn't the only one, enjoy the rest of the event and I believe she meant it, but I'm one of those people that has a hard time feeling okay after I've been part of breaking something (especially when I know it's been noticed). So between being scolded for asking a question and the whole mess with the hunt it was hard to feel comfortable in the event. From that point on I was always worried that I would miss another detail in one of the rules or something.

And then I heard/noticed other people were having trouble with the trivia and noticed the responses to those questions/concerns where borderline hostile. I personally didn't have trouble with the quiz, I mean the answers weren't as easy to find in the links provided as I would have expected but I felt like I found the answers on my own in other places.

I suppose, personally, I would say that the issue I noticed with the event was that when people brought up questions or issues the response were.... harsh. I don't know if other people felt that way, but that's the way I took the interactions. Personally that doesn't effect how I see the overall CW community or even the event runners. I can't imagine how much work it took to run that event and coming up with rules everyone can understand has to be tricky. I do understand that you need people to follow rules to be fair and to keep things under control. And the prize pool was crazy generous. My main problem was just on a personal emotional level when it's all boiled down and when you're just dealing with text on a screen there's always some level of gap between intent and impression. You can mean something in the most neutral or gentle way and have it hit the person on the other side of the screen as cold or harsh, emotional intent it is tricky online. I hope some of this made scene and that I don't just sound like a whinny little brat.... I wasn't trying to bash the the event it was just nice to know that I wasn't the only one that felt put off by it - that I wasn't just dense or something and that's why I struggled with it.

Oh and when I said exclusionary I meant how limited the time frames were on some of the events. It just seems like if you want to bring more people in you shouldn't have such narrow time frames. Or if you are going to have such narrow time frames try to spread the windows out over the full 24 hours. So if one event runs from noon to 2pm another event runs closer to midnight to 2 am subeta time, so that other time zones or work schedules or whatever can have better chance at access too.

I don't know if you agree with any of that.... if any of that stuff was what you noticed....

Also, I read what you were saying about the CW fest. I personally did not participate because it seemed really confusing... I read the beginning few posts, but it was a lot to keep track of. I was confused about how to get started, I guess, but it's just me.

Anyway, I kinda want to see the posts where you felt people responded harshly to questions... I'm not sure if you can link any, like would that be considered "targeting"? I think it would be fine if you wanted to sMail me or something though. I mean, I'm pretty nonjudgmental and I won't like attack anyone over it. I just want to see what you mean, judge for myself, you know?

As for specific posts... Oh man, I don't even remember which of the threads I saw the responses in. I was going to try to find some but that's a lot of pages to go through and on my computer it takes forever to get each page on the forums to load. Is it okay if I pass? Like I said after I was told I shouldn't have asked a question and had 'started early' I was on edge about doing things 'wrong' after that, so part of the harsh impression was probably just me being anxious. The whole emotional intent behind text thing.... Ugg I just want to put the stress behind me. In general the whole event was very impressive, like site wide event level impressive; it was just nice to blow off a little steam about it with . Normally with an event of that size there are lots of places to go for help or ask questions and it helps blow off steam and with this one there just wasn't a way to do that. I suppose I should ping again in case what I said before needed even more ramblings.... lol
