I think halving the price to 50k would already be a great improvement XD Asking for 10k is maybe a bit much.

It's been said quite a few times that 250 is just the starting limit. Perhaps if we could have the same amount of shops but half the amount of items that would be fair?

Just waiting for Saturday to see if people start to panic and begin selling stuff super cheap to cut down their store inventory.

By the way, I hate this superlag that's been showing up for the past several days. It takes forever to try and do quests now. :(

I always get a 3 month GA with my loyalty box. I could have 6 shops and autoprice them for those 3 months. So, I autoprice my extra shops on the last day of my GA and remove all profits from the shop tills. What happens after that? Would the items in these shops still show up in shop search for people to buy and would I be able to take the profits from the tills with an ordinary account even if I couldn't add anything new to the shops or reprice them manually?

We&;re making some progress on moving items! I&;ve changed the "all" on the page to actually make the drop down the max instead of refreshing the entire page (still need to do this on the input boxes, when there are too many items).

Right now this works by putting the items in a queue, managed by the amazon simple queue service - so we didn&;t build a system from scratch and also has a ton of protection features ensuring that nothing gets lost into the abyss. Fortunately, the same queueing can be used from moving items in other ways, so the programming team can continue to build on this as we make tools to move items from places to your new shops/galleries, and increase the limits :) I&;ve already made a few optimizations today on the new shops from the testing done already, and am really optimistic about being able to raise the limits.

This is currently in code review, which is another process long overdue at Subeta. Making it a requirement should really lessen the number of bugs let into the wild, and ensure that everyone is able to take a look at something before it goes out. Right now is on vacation (her mom is visiting) so this likely won&;t be pushed until Wednesday, with a few more changes :)

I'm gonna focus on the bolded part for a moment. While it's a good start, I'm afraid this change isn't actually very helpful for those with a lot of unique items in their shop. It'll let users skip the dropdown menu for items they have multiples of, yes, but users will still have to go through unique items one at a time to empty out their shop. That's already tedious for those in the lower (1000~3000-ish) unique item range - for those with a larger amount (say, upwards of 10k) of unique items and upwards, it's still outright unreasonable, and that includes quite a few of the users who've spoken up about this. A "remove all items on this page" button or something in the same vein as that would help a lot more, even if all it does is max out the quantities of all items in the dropdown menu at once (similar to this, but in one go, rather than requiring a click for every item on the page).

The queue is a good idea, though.

But I have to ask again - why in the world are you planning to roll out something this significant, after only a short period of on-site testing while one of the most important people involved is on vacation? I understand that the current system has proven to be a significant strain on the servers, but purely from an user viewpoint, it's hard to see how the situation suddenly became so urgent that you can't take the necessary amount of time to finish up all features needed for the new system and to test it for a more reasonable period of time, or to at the very least wait until is at least back from her vacation before starting the testing period so she has a reasonable amount of time to both address user concerns other staff members have been unable to answer and to fix bugs/issues that are discovered during testing (since as it is, she's missing a significant chunk of the testing period, and once she's back there's only a few days until the system is supposed to roll out for everyone).

There's also a lot of concerns that still haven't been addressed - what about the shop till and its related achievements? What about the Minion Zoo, since it's a potential alternative to galleries for a few users if it's finished? What about the concerns several users have voiced about how the new system will impact the economy (and by extension, things like restocking and questing), since the item limits have a high chance of leading to (and are already leading to, for several beta testers) stocking items selectively and thus causing skewed item prices and availability? When can we expect the item limits to be raised and by how much (since a lot of people have noted that their shop/gallery stocks are not even close to the initial limits, even with up to 3/6 shops/galleries), particularly considering how many times in the past we've been told that features would be adjusted, fixed or finished only for it to take years for that to happen, if at all?

There's probably more concerns that I'm forgetting, but these are ones I've seen brought up quite a few times now. It'd be greatly appreciated if they could be addressed.

So... has there been any talk about when the amount of unique items will increase? I assumed, perhaps foolishly, that it would be raised much more before going live, and possibly more after that. My gallery is almost full :(

We're including a "select all" / move all items on this page as well :)

We did it this way because it means we get feedback (and numbers from testing) while is out without touching too much. It's important to get a few days of usability and data from people using it before changing it too much. I agree that a little bit more time would be good, and it's possible we'll extend the testing window once more changes are pushed. I want to reiterate that the current shops are a huge bottleneck on the servers, and are the root of our problems at the moment. Waiting another day or two just means another day or two of 5xx errors.

Shop till is another example of a short sighted achievement. It has never been hard - people can get friends to buy from their shop, it pushed people to just leave sP in their shop till that "existed" but didn't really get used in the system. It's the same as encouraging people to keep all of their sP in their vault by giving out huge bonuses (interest) which just doesn't really help keep the economy moving. I'm in favor of it being retired.

The economic impact is something that we're going to be keeping a close eye on, but also isn't something we can measure the impact of until this is in the wild. We have a hypothesis of what will happen and are going to keep a close eye on what it does to item prices and have built out a lot of tools for us to measure this once it goes live.

And, I don't have a comment on when we're going to raise the limits. This isn't something that requires hard programming after it's done (because we've been optimizing the queries during testing) and is something that and can do, if that makes you feel better about the chances of it happening.

For my part, I'd gladly trade some 502/504 errors if it means grelca's on site when all this goes down.

Missed that, sorry . Minion zoos are on our roadmap, we've got some work to do on it to make it a complete product (from the user testing and feedback) and separate it from battling which is going to be a little further out.

Well. Maybe we could have a 'main shop' that we get to keep working with, and two other shops that have to go back down under the limit before we can add to them again (or get another GA) I think it'd be unwise to stop us pricing manually in shops where we're over the limit or we'd never get back down under it (speaking from experience with current shops). What do you think would work best?

I do hope you don't retire that achievement. The hoarder ones were a pain and over the top imo, but a lot of people like this one because it helps them save (and then they can go splurge on CSC and other expensive items). Also you're not planning to put limits on the wardrobe or retire filled wardrobe are you? D: It's the same general idea as hoarder so......

&& - The page does say unlimited, but, I found out that currently it's not really unlimited for the old gallery, so I have the beers split between gallery and vault. I'd like to know for sure if I can have them all ALL in the new gallery, because, reasons. Once in they stay in. I don't move them, I don't use them, I sure as shit ain't selling them. Yes, I'm hoarding. I don't think I'm the "only" person who has that problem, but I may have the loargest collection of the beers.

- except saying "You're the problem" didn't really actually at all answer my question of can I have all of my beer army in the gallery, is unlimited REALLY unlimited ? Am I breaking the site now because I'm quickstocking them into my new shiny gallery ? Was I honestly breaking teh site before ? If so, how ? Do I actually for reals have the biggest one item hoard on site ?

GUYS SORRY I GUESS THE NEW SHOPS ARE MY FAULT, SORRY ABOUT THAT. THE BEER ARMY IS DOOMING SUBETA. SORRY.

That item hoard is really bad for the site, no matter where you put it. We should have never made it possible for 850,000 of them to go out. The new shops have soft limits for things like that and will not let you move hundreds of thousands of any item to it. I'd recommend just deleting them (or having us delete them) instead of moving them around, to be honest.

- I have always been a rather ambivalent player. I have areas of the site I like, and use. I have things I enjoy. But nothing really ever gripped me with an all consuming passion. I like the wardrobe best, myself, but even that took me years to get filled achievement. I barely restock, I occasionally quest, I rarely battle... My pets are never finished.... But..... then a day came. One bright day. One glorious day The day the beer started, I decided, long ago, that i had a goal. A mission. I was going to have one million beers. I have spent a lot of time, less so in the past year or so, true, to get myself to that point, by buying, being gifted, and in the early days, refreshing to start the million beer army. And now, because you never should have let that go out, I should just throw them all away ? I'm honestly a little taken aback. Yes, I have a lot, but, I feel that you're the problem for our mistake, delete them is just, sad. My one pride and joy.

I mean, I understand that the giant hoard is cool, but you could frag them and you can buy lots of valuable items with them? They were also asked by the RB at one point, another way to remove them productively.

Oh yes and believe me I was tempted to get them all turned into RB points and get a what, ten or so ametsuchi's ? But.. I... I wanted a one million strong beer army. I just find it rather discouraging that those are now my choices, delete or get rid of by fragging/ recycling. TO what end ? Then I have near a million recycle points/crystals, and then I'm killing some currency. That. and then no more beer army.

I'll ask to my friends how they think about, if I decide participate the beta test. Not they are my bos, but their opionions are just important for me.

that we intend to make that gap significantly smaller when we raise the limits.

The non GA/GA ratio is fine, Keith. Keeping a 1:2 ratio is reasonable, and a good GA boon.

As someone pointed out before, it's actually 4x that. You get twice as many shops and twice as many items in each.

I think the different number of shops between GA/regular users is going to cause more of the same problem we saw before with GAs getting extra pet slots. Basically, the pain it is to handle when users change back and forth between gold and blue users. I think all users should have the same number of available shops/galleries or the same options to buy more. That or allow users to buy more when they have an active gold account, and once bought they are permanent.

The item limit difference is a nice perk. When the limits increase you could keep the same difference instead of the same ratio? Such as GA users always get 250 more items in shops and 500 more in galleries, so if the non-GA shop limit is 1000, the GA limit is 1250. Or if the shop limits get very large, GAs get 500 more in shops and 1000 more in galleries. Simple to handle since when your GA expires, you just can't add more items until you renew or fall below your new limit. Simpler for the staff as well, as they don't need to worry about rebalancing the differences between paid and free users to prevent riots every time they raise the shop limits.

I think that I will be able to force myself to handle this, after the days (weeks?) of moving and recategorizing everything into new shops/galleries is done, only if the limits of shops, galleries and items is increased quite a bit. As it stands now I have already filled 1/4 of my new gallery and have only moved 1 out of the 10 (?) categories from the old one. With the current limits I would need 6 galleries and 4 shops. :(
