"Yeah but you could always work on your art even if you do something else professionally. I feel like I will follow my dad's footsteps but also own my business. I see a busy future for myself." Gaia giggled and winked. Then turn her attention to the dragon. ()

Sam was watchful of the baby dragon's sparks. but not unduly concerned. Robes could be mended and burns would heal. She was more concerned in finding the spot the baby dragon liked to be scratched the best.

"Good point." Then something she said peaked his interest. "Can you see your furture? Does it drive you bonkers like knowing you ain't gonna do somefing you wanna do? Is it all like fate or shift... or does knowing what could 'appen make you want to change it and perhaps like mess things up or bring about the thing you are trying to change?" Seeing was something he clearly didn't understand at all. He gave the dragon a pet and handed Gaia a slab of meat that was on the table. "You can feed 'im if you want." Magnus' hand brushed against Sam's when he wasn't paying attention. He blushed but still petted the pretty baby. (OOC: No worries lol its been crazy I swear, so I totally understand which is why I thought I should extend the time :) ))

Gaia grabbed the meat and stretched her arm to the baby as he grabbed it Gaia said "I can't see my future, no... but I get blurry interactions of the future. They are rare for me, but since the person I am seeing future is so close to mine theirs becomes muddled in my head. That is why I don't think of my future in a Seer way, because I can't really see it, but I do get feelings. Like if I know the decisions I made will not be successful I can change the way I go about it, but again it is not something certain. I make a lot of mistakes just like everyone else. Besides most futures are ever changing. Sometimes by trying to change it we end up making it happen."

"And worse of all you can't even use it to cheat on test." He watched the baby eat as he considered what it would be like to be a seer. It sure didn't sound that great to him, but he'd never say that outloud.

Millie stepped up and started to scratch one of the babies under it's chin. She was glad to be back with her friends. She could definitely see why people were so enamored with them. She stood up and got a piece of meat and fed it to the one she had been petting.

Paddy stepped closer to the baby dragon, thankful for the anti flame/singe spell - she didn't like the aroma of burning fur. Putting her paw on the dragon's head, she was surprised at the texture of the scales. It hadn't dawned on her that they could look rough, yet feel smooth to the touch.

Maybe it was because he was male or maybe because he was a werewolf or... maybe it was just because the dragons went so well and no one seemed overly scared so he didn't really linger on any concerns over his next animal, but perhaps he should have told everyone what "creature" he had planned for the club. Just because he thought they were amazing didn't mean anyone else would--many people did run screaming from the mere sight or thought of the beast....

It was storming. The wind was slashing the rain heavily and sounded more like drumming than it did water landing on the castle--compounded by the thunder and sudden bright lightening. The rain was coming down in torrents as sodden owls delivered hastily scrawled messages to meet in the dungeon. His own owl Vega was not in the mood to stick around Magnus lest he give her more letters to deliver. He was glad that he practiced the drying spell--in case anyone had to suffer through the gale to get back to the castle. So with the storm a factor Magnus hadn't had time to think about anyone running out of the dungeon screaming when he unveiled the creature. Which he just did... Tapping the air caused an invisible cage with a very furry spider the size of a large horse to come into view. Beside the big cage was a small box with an infant version of the spider...

"Acromantula," he said beaming so deeply one would think it was more pretty or cute than a hideous man-eating spider, "lives in jungles and forests and native to South Asia. Its legs are about 15 feet long, and as you can see its got thick black hair on it. Females are larger than males normally and can lay 'bout a 'undred eggs at one time. They eat meat, including their own dead kin and even 'umans. We can't touch the big one but you can pet the baby if you want. They can talk too. If you've got questions lemme know."

((OOC 1: I'll rp them speaking if you wish to talk to the spiders ;)

OOC 2: Have a horrible migraine that has really been so bad all day. Feeling faint and having a hard time staying upright. Throbbing pain behind my eyes making me cry as well as other symptoms that I shan't bore you all with, but since I'm feeling so bad I'm putting the new lesson up now because I honestly don't know if I can manage to be online... I mean, I'll try but if I manage the mini-coma I'm hoping for then I will be asleep at 11 tonight.))

Aderyn was torn between the desire to remain in the greenhouse where she was checking in on some of the Herbology Club's plants and watch the torrential rain (she absolutely adored storms) and the desire to go to Care of Magical Creatures Club. She had no idea what Magnus had in store for them this week, but she was willing to bet it would be every bit as amazing as all of the weeks before.

Tearing herself away from the windows at last, she cast a quick rain-repelling charm on herself and dashed outside, smiling as she inhaled the scent of petrichor, thick and fresh as it was all around her. She made it into the castle and made her way toward the dungeons, waving to friends and classmates as she passed them in the halls.

As she rounded the corner and stepped into the doorway, Magnus' voice rang out in the air. His words hadn't had the chance to register before her eyes fell on the cage in the middle of the room and the creature therein. Before she could rationalize things in her head, she was already screaming and turning to bolt from the room.

Aderyn was petrified of spiders.

Emmy headed down to the dungeons, tired after doing tons of homework that day after classes. She'd dashed down a quick meal and, pulling her robes closer around her from the damp chill in the castle, and hurried downstairs. She was hoping to meet Aderyn before the meeting started so they could go in together, but she heard a scream as she entered the room that she realized was Aderyn's.

"Wha--?" she started, throwing out her arms and catching Aderyn as the other girl tried to run past her out the door. She pulled her girlfriend back into the room.

"What's wrong?" she asked, alarmed. She looked around, and saw Magnus standing with an enormous acromantula standing beside him, visibly uncaged, and she felt her heart go cold with fear. She let go of Aderyn and backed against the wall, staring with wide eyes. She hadn't screamed, but she did NOT want to get any closer, and as it was, she was considering changing into her animagus form and bolting, since she was much faster as a cat than a human. So, she stood, her back against the wall farthest from the creature, frozen to the spot.

Sam was early to the meeting for a change, The foul weather had kept her indoors, and the dungeon meeting room was not far from the Slytherin common room. "Cool!" she breathed, as Magnus unveiled the Acromantula Before she could ask any questions though, Aderyn's terrified scream startled everyone in the room. Well, maybe not everyone. Sam thought, as Emmy backed wide-eyed against the wall, looking a lot like she wanted to scream as well.

Paddy had been gazing at the storm from the common room window for a while, fascinated as usual by the lightning. When the note arrived, carried by a very sodden owl, she gave her pets a few treats to keep them busy, and ran down to the dungeons. Thankful she didn't have to go outside, she arrived just as Magnus uncovered the large cage. She knew there would be a new creature today and was eager to see what Magnus had managed to obtain for them to learn about. "Wait, what?" she said, staring at the huge spider, taking a few steps back from the cage. At least she hadn't screamed like Aderyn, but she didn't really know how to react. A werewolf shouldn't be scared of any creatures, but the Acromantula just looked wrong, it was so big.... and hairy....

(ooc - I hope you're feeling better.)

Millie finished up her homework, feeling better about not drowning in an ocean of it. She ate a quick dinner and went to the dungeons. She decided to bring Cleo with her tonight and when she saw the Acromantula, she quickly scooped her cat up. She felt all the rush to her head. She started backing up and wondered if anyone would notice her slip out but she knew they would. She could feel Cleo tensing up too. She then heard Aderyn's scream and that was enough for Cleo, who let out a nasty groan and a hiss and jumped from Millie's arms and bolted out. Millie knew Cleo knew he way back to the Hufflepuff common room, so she wasn't too worried about her cat.

Millie decided to stay as long as she could with her back against the wall. It wasn't she disliked spiders. She just disliked big, hairy ones and Acromantula was the biggest and hairiest.

Aderyn was flailing wildly out of the dungeon, her scream echoing down the hallway, when she was hit around the middle with what she quickly realized where Emmy's arms. She squirmed as her best friend dragged her forcibly back into the dungeon, cursing the fact that the other girl was stronger than she was. Her fae heritage made her slight of build and her strength suffered for it.

As they entered the room again, Aderyn staunchly refused to look to where she knew the acromantula was standing. Instead, she waited for an opportunity to get away. Thankfully, such an opportunity presented itself a moment later when Emmy's grip on her eased - the other girl had noticed the spider and was backing up against the wall.

With a little whimper, Aderyn blushed furiously, realizing that Millie, Sam, and Paddy were all there and had all witnessed her initial reaction already. With her face turning redder by the second, she scampered out of the room and stopped outside the door, sliding slowly down the wall until she was sitting on the floor, her knees pulled up to her chest and her face buried in her hands as the embarrassment sank in. She shuddered, hoping she was safe where she was sitting, knowing the creature was too big to get through the door, and she tried not to think of one of those long, impossibly hairy legs poking out through the dungeon door to prod at her.

Paddy spotted Aderyn run from the dungeon, and followed her out. Not as an excuse to get away from the massive spider, but more out of concern at a fellow student. Crouching down to where Aderyn was sitting against the wall, Paddy handed over a couple of chocolate frogs from her pocket. "You ok?" she asked, wondering if all the students would know her for her seemingly never-ending supply of chocolate she carried with her.
