Sam laughed, then paused "Actually, that's a good idea! I don't know about the color of the Disney version, but some Arabian Nights style pants would work." When she found a Princess jasmine wig however, her laughter was uncontrollable.

Well it altered his costume idea but Sam was happy and he smiled when she put on the wig. "It looks very fetching. Oh an' that reminds me..." he picked up his rucksack which had an expandable charm on it and opened it. Pulling out a very large flat square wrapped present he handed it to Sam. "Your belated present. Hope you like it." When she opened it, she'd find a framed picture of her with her pet Chua in one arm and Umbra on her opposite shoulder. It was fully painted by him and charmed to permanently move, just like the Hogwarts pictures. Currently, the painted Sam was waving to them smiling. Magnus waited to see what she thought.

"Oh my!" Sam gasped, touching the painting reverently. The painted gray owl's head swiveled around to regard her with an imperious stare. "it's wonderful! You've captured Chua and Umbra perfectly, though I know I'm not nearly that pretty.... Thank you so much! I can't wait till I can show this to my folks. Ma'll think Hogwarts is making a lady outta me!" Setting the painting down carefully, Sam gave Magnus a heartfelt hug. Sam looked at herself critically in the mirror one more time, before pulling the heavy wig off to make looking for other costume items easier, and setting it next to Magnus' gift.
"Are you sure we can't consider Michael Jackson a fairy-tale creature?" she joked "That outfit I have."

He smiled. "I'm glad you like it. You seemed so taken with me drawings that I thought you'd like your own." He looked at the wig and then laughed, "Nah, but if you don't wanna go as anything--then go as yourself. You can be your own faerie tale. They ain't gonna kick us out cos we decided ta beat to our own drums."

Sam smiled. "well, we'll see how I do with those dance lessons you promised. Though, I'm afraid the less I have to trip over, the better. Still, if you like the Aladdin theme, I could definitely manage that." She looked at the muggle picture book again. "you could either do the desert prince thing, or the wicked visier dude..., I never thought of genii as goofy looking before tho. That Disney fellow sure had a crazy imagination."

"Whenever you'd like them, we can start. i reckon a fair few people might join in if started 'ere. Dont mind if ya want me ta." Shrugging his shoulders he said, "Well me original plan for me outfit was different, but I am 'appy to do whatever theme you'll be most comfortable in. Remember, the little uns put me in dresses before. I know they ain't easy to navigate in... though they do twirl rather pretty like."

"Well..." Sam hesitated, she hated to admit how intimidating those dresses were. "Could you show me something that would go with what you had in mind. I could try it on, and we could see if you can teach me how not to fall on my face in it."

"Well I was thinking something fancy, like... Cinderella-type. I'd thought of the Victorian type suits and such for me, before I learnt o' the theme."

Paddy ran down the stairs, hoping that the best outfits hadn't already been taken. She'd given her owl some treats, settled the puppy down in her bed, then realised the pup was chewing on her favourite book. By the time she'd sorted that out and given the dog something better to chew on, she was a lot later than she'd planned.

She'd done a little research into fairy tales, but she still didn't have a clue what outfit she was going to look for. Running into the hall, she scanned the room for her friends, and sidled up beside them.
