It seems like we may have just posted at close enough to the exact same time, the system got confused. Because now for me at least it's swapped the order of our posts. Oh well.

That's a good point too, maybe some people got burned out on the lesser guys and didn't have enough energy to fight the boss a whole lot.

it's because posts are done by timestamp and no postid I think (which is not a good idea, hope they can fix this when forums are revamped again)

it was a nightmare for me, I fought 1700 times against the minis, 200 against the gliders, the rest 10 times, then the big boss twice.. I was so exhausted.. so I understand why people didn't even care about the boss.. also, the gap between last war and this one was long so people wanted to catch up with the minis and gliders, learned from a mistake I guess lol

Yeah, I tried to do as much as I could as well since who knows when the next chance will be. I think I did like 2100 minis, 450 gliders, 79 golems, 10 gelashells, and then 1150 losses against Hydragellos. Talk about overkill, lol, but at least it earned me in tier.

For me I did the worst ever in a boss battle but only due to real life things which are more important. No core or weapon for me but I'm ok with that as I already have them.

I would love to get the Hydra Essence but next time and the Leftover Hydragel

Aw, should've have spent a little less time on Rahn and more on Aros. But yay for getting a core. I was worried about switching pets. Also, Aros did more damage per battle than Rahn - what? xD

One reason there were fewer people battling may have been the perception that they never stood a chance at the top prizes. I dk how many people who won cores already had won them in previous years, but I will think twice before participating in any more boss battles. I'm happy for the winners and begrudge them nothing, but disappointed all my time and energy didn't amount to more.

Unless a bunch of top battlers quit the site, I am unlikely to ever make the top 25 pets, and thus will be a long shot for a core -- every year, as will most other battlers. Not much point of even participating.

At least for me personally, I definitely wasn't expecting to receive a core, especially being only a T9. I just wanted to try my best for at least top 10 in my tier, since it had been said there would be tier-based prizes like for the Kiyo battle.

The core for in each tier was a nice surprise, but it wasn't my reason for participating as much as I did.

Not that I disagree with you, I probably will get a bit more discouraged as my pet levels up more and starts competing with even tougher users and their pets. Just saying that putting in the effort can still pay off, even if you have a weak-ish pet.

Thank you! It was tiring, but at least it paid off. I doubt I'll participate as much in the next one though, now that I've got most of the achievements and a core. Give someone else a chance.

that's how I felt two years ago when I didn't earn a core. "the same battlers win every year I didn't stand a chance" at least the cores going to top person of each tier (except 12 and 13) was a better way to do it. but I understand the feeling of hopelessness.
