And I like the idea of focusing more on medieval foods or at least classically European ones since I think Subeta has done a lot of the foods you'd typically find at Renn Faires.

Crafts and clothes could be a lot of fun too- pottery, wood and metal works, blown glass, jewelry, chainmail designs, soaps and incense, brass roses of different colors, crystals, shoulder dragon puppets.. there's so many to choose from.

I put together a pintrest of mostly buildings and crafts here. Maybe it will give staff some inspiration? c:

I'd happily spend all weekend on such a fair! 100% support ♥ And 100% more if Subeta history and lore can be integrated into it.

It occurs to me that the Renaissance Faire is almost a Masquerade equivalent, and could be dismissed with a "well, we already have Masq."

So why not Masquerade in the Park?

It could be so awesome AND still fit the lore!

Masquerade is like Atebus' 4th of July, isn't it? It might be weird to celebrate it on Subeta.

What about holding the renaissance festival during Fireside? It's already got dragons, which fits with the whole medieval thing. I'm kind of tired of getting more and more wreathed rreign dolls year after year, and this could be a good way to bring in some diversity.

I agree with that Fireside is a better time for this than the Masquerade. There is already so much lore and attention given to the Masq and it just gets bigger every year, and that isn't true of most holidays on Subeta.

I came back because I remembered that my school's Ren Fair had trebuchets set up and we could launch water balloons and fruit at targets with them. It was seriously fun. It would be cool to have a game like that. There was also an archery contest.

Yup, there would have to be some colorful bell style pavilions like those as well as wooden booths and at least one 'ye olde pub' sort of building, yay for Tudor style half timber!

I really should have snapped some photos of the chain and scale mail tops the husband is selling at a con this weekend, guess I'll have to get him to send me some shots later to post here.

Ooh. This would be amazing. I really love ren-faires! And I love the suggestions for some of the games. Waterballoon launching at targets, archery. There are usually lots of little stalls that sell clothes, jewelry, food, drinks! ...We had the best home-made cream soda i've ever tasted one year. Yum. Mebbe you could bet on the jousting ranks? Pick a knight who might win, or have shorter contests where you're trying to pick the winner, the trifecta, etc.

Also, I agree that once a week or even once a month is a bit once. I'd be good with once or twice a year. (a spring/summer and a fall/winter theme?)

I like the idea, but monthly seems like a bit much. I like the once or twice a year suggestion.
