Character Name/Ref: Ricky Style Painted quad, unless floof would make for a better custom overlay. Eye Style: Regular Personality/Pose Suggestion/Other Info: His personality can be found here. For a pose, I was thinking maybe having him laying down with a hockey stick under his front paws and a grin on his face (a more fun looking than the one the reborn clawsion has since it almost looks evil xD). The wings to be more angelic rather than fire, and his fur color to match that of the hair color on his toyhouse character (the personality link). He can keep some fire around his paws though, like the reborn clawsion has. I'm trying to get him to match his human character as much as possible, so I'm also open to ideas if you have a better idea for him. Piece I: Character Name/Ref: Filigree Style - Quad Eye Style: ?? Personality/Pose Suggestion/Other Info: Filigree is my Snail Queen and she sometimes has to lead her people into battle. She isn't one of those sits behind the troops type monarchs, she likes to get in there and get her hands dirty. She has an incredibly strong personality and often its a my way or the highway type. I had an artist who created this gorgeous sketch that I want to pull inspiration for her Quad form. What I like the most really is the filigree/leafy elements on the shell. She wears a beautiful bell necklace as well as strands of pearls and gold beads.

For colors, I'd like to stick with the more neutral tones, lots of light browns and beiges with golds. What you see on the pieces I've given you should provide some palette guidance. She has mossy green eyes and brown freckles all over her body. I'd like some really unique with her antennae if you're up for a little design freedom.

I'd like her like a snail, similar to how you did Phyll, so no arms or anything ^ ^

Piece II: Character Name/Ref: Unknown Style - Quad Eye Style: ?? Personality/Pose Suggestion/Other Info: I'm sure you have seen those images of old places that were abandoned quickly and everything that was left behind is like its frozen in time. I want that feel with this pet. So the idea would be a Nostalgic Kerubi (the Popples) made from satin and lace fabrics. I like how the Hessian and Lace Plushies look, so that can give you a bit of inspiration. The abandoned element would be for there some nature elements to be reclaiming the Kerubi. Here's a Pinterest I found of abandoned gardens that might give you some ideas. There's a nifty picture in there of a couch overgrown with moss.

If you want him to look like a regular quad then quad is the way to go, as floofs are supposed to be more chibi-like (if you prefer that though, then by all means). Neither would make a 'better' overlay - it just depends on your taste. ~

Would the ( sun clawsion ) be close to how you envision his design? (Plus some fire, of course.)

Also, the hockey stick as an included prop would make for a total of 340m sP - does that sound okay? (:

A regal snail & a forgotten satin & lace kerubi - how nifty! I'll look forward to start sketching - and we can work the designs out along the way, as we often do. ~

My 'simple' shading style has one layer of shading + minimal lighting, whereas the painted one obviously has several with blending of colours & so, which adds more depths to the piece (like Phyll). Personally I like painted better, but it depends on your taste, really. ^^

I've been trying to get back into doing full illustrations, but it's easier said than done (especially when my wrist starts acting up if I draw for too many hours a day). I've got some goals set down though, so hopefully I'll be doing / posting more soon ❤️

Yeah, the sun clawsion fits well! The white body markings can be more of a red color, but the orange fur and wings are perfect!

Curious, did you go to art school? Or are in art school? I was wondering if they ever teach budding artists how to help take care of their hands and wrists to help prevent damage. I figured at some point there would be a class on ergonomics, which is essentially how to sit right to prevent wear and tear on the body. If not, that should be mandatory ^ ^ I know so many artists that have hand problems :/

I'm not going to lie that there were so sneaky motives requesting some more snail artwork. I really do mean that at some point in the year or next I'd like to commission you to draw my tattoo. Take small steps to get back into illustrations, goals that are easy to obtain are more likely to be obtained :)

I didn't go to art school (health issues messed up my education, hah), but I do daily stretches to take care of my wrist / shoulder / back, and I also wear support during times when my wrist is extra weak. My wrist has always been a weak point though, since way before I focused on drawing as one of my main skillsets. It's just one of those things I've learnt to deal with. ~

..Good thing I'm zeroing in on my artistic weak points and putting a lot of focus into active development & growth then..! Ha-ha~

(I actually drew Filigree the other way around but forgot that I'd flipped my canvas, so she can face whichever way you prefer~) Please let me know what you think so far!

- I'm sorry for the belated reply. School starts back up tomorrow and I'm trying to myself organized before 160 kiddos come through my doors ^ ^ Its good that you're so self aware and can take precautions to reduce any unnecessary damage. I think that is a great quality :)

Filigree - I am absolutely loving how the antennae were sketched because that is really pretty looking, especially with the crystals dripping down! Could we try a few different mouth expressions? Perhaps a stern look or a maybe something more open? In regards to her shell, could be tilt it down more, so you see it more. Perhaps like this or this? The sketch is a bit hard to understand for the body, especially the part near the shell and kinda "chest" area. I'm thinking the neck area looks slightly too wide....been trying to find some reference images but I'm failing :/

Reclaimed Kerubi - I definitely like the one on the right, and the hubby seconded my choice! I was wondering though, could you tilt the head just slightly to the left or right so that it likes like it was skewed when the toy flopped down? I really want that eery feel/look to this pet as well because honestly...those abandoned pictures always look spooky to me. See exhibit A! Perhaps...this Kerubi will be left behind in this theme park...hm...ponder ponder!
