- The price is perfectly acceptable! You did an amazing job with this! I really like insects, especially those from hymenoptera (bees, wasps, and ants), but I had to have Lepidoptera when it went free :)
A few things of note. I did a bit more research and realized I had the wrong species, the butterfly I showed you is called a Great Mormon, and the male and females of this species are morphological different and also have a very high degree of polymorphism. This means that the males and females have a wide range of wing pattern coloration and design. They also have a tendency to mimic other more unpalatable swallowtail species. There are 13 subspecies with the Great Mormon as well. Got to love the highly variability of nature! :)
I would love if you kept with the male and female forms though, so female with the tail, and the male with no tail. The link I shared with you has some a few images of the male's underside to help with reference.
I like that you have the chrysalis and caterpillar on their own! I will likely crop them for when I do the profile for hovers! :)
Let me know if you have any more questions you'd like me to answer. You have done a wonderful job so far with this commission :)
- omg I suck at remembering stuff...ugh!
Ok...here goes...its another build your own... XD
Character Name: Kez(an) Character Description: Kez is an ftm trans merman/God of Winter. The character looks like an older version of THIS GUY...so that means...more ear piercings (preferably places that you can actually get pierced) and a few grey hairs too. His hair should look like THIS rather than the short hair of the first pic. Kez also has a couple of tattoos (one chest/upper left arm piece, one inner right wrist and one right hip). The chest/arm piece is a tribal piece like THIS. The inner right wrist is THIS. And the right hip tattoo is just a random looking trail of tiny cat paw prints (6 paw prints). His tail is like THIS. Also...Kez has obvious scars with being trans and is still slightly uncomfortable with his appearance as this is a fairly new development.
USD commission etc
I meant to answer you for a while but I've been too busy until now v_v The idea with the owl having no idea what's happening sounds kind of cool, too! I'm sure I'll be able to find a story I can work with soon because I have this lovely art now c: I don't really ask if my pet is owl like usually xD If I can make it work somehow I usually pick a nice Noktoa unless there's another pet that would be just perfect which is rare for me!
Yeah, I just wanted to see if it was just the color that threw me off c: I really love all three version so it's hard to decide! They all look so amazing, thank you so much again! It will be so much fun to make a layout with one of the versions! It already looks so great on a plain profile with dark background c:
Hey, sorry for the slow reply guys! No Internet +++ "orz
;; Hey, that's fine. It's life. I totally get it. d: I guess that works if you really love a species. I'm probably just 'too' picky, ha-ha~ Then again, I very much enjoy the variety in my deck. (: Best of luck with deciding on a story!
I'm glad you're satisfied! Changing colours around is usually a real pain, but the way it worked with this one made it a minor edit. Hopefully one of the versions will give you what you need for a great profile layout! It sounds like it's already coming along nicely. (: Have fun!
;; No problem, I'll have his eyes lowered! But hey, I just realised something - do you have a ref for his whole tail? Because right now the part of his tail that shows is the one that, in your ref, goes half-way behind his head ... so I'm basically lacking half the notes on that side. (I tried poking around for anything, but came up empty.) (:
;; Wonderful! I'm glad you like it so far as well. ^^ Insects (& arachnids) have fascinated me since I was a kid, but I never took the time to look into their technical terms the way you seem to have done. It's interesting that you've taken to the sting-y ones, too! My sister has a terrible phobia of bees & wasps (she literally has nightmares of them chasing her & stinging her to death), and my mum of ants (which she got from being placed into a nest by her sister when she was a child (though she's got to the point where she doesn't need to run away anymore)), so I'm basically surrounded by the extreme negative reactions! In any case I very much understand picking up the butterflies when you had the chance. Congrats on your gain! :'D
Ah! That makes sense. I think I searched for 'crimson swallowtail' & kept coming up with the 'mormon' butterflies! But in any case that website you linked was very helpful, especially with the underside views, so thank you for that! Now everything is clear & quite doable, so I hope I can have the piece ready for you soon!
I got the score from this song ^_^ also I just noticed but, would it be ok to make the fan a little bigger as well? xD;; thanks!
- I've been more of a bug girl than spider girl. I find arachnids fascinating but not quite as much as I do the sheer diversity of the insect world. I use to work with mosquitoes before I became a teacher. If I had the chance to redo a part of my life, I would have gone to graduate school and studied pollinators and their relationships with plants. My husband is not a big fan of insects. He actually sometimes has nightmares where he wakes and freaks out because he thinks something is crawling on him. Its pretty freaky ^ ^ My father is not a spider person at all. Only time I ever see spaz is when he comes across a spider, especially black widows, which are pretty common where I live. I tend to jump 5 feet in the air when I come across them too because of their ability to do harm, but otherwise, I'm fascinated :)
Thank you for being so wonderful and understanding with me. I love when I encounter an artist who takes that time to ask for clarification :)
Character Name: Snod
Character Ref: VV
Colour?:* No paticular color but an over all kind of dark and swamp like look.
Other Info**: It lives in a swamp and kind of want it to look like its covered in moss. It eats people in it's story can you make it scary? The flower on its head doesnt need to be so big and petals should fallen down. Yellow eyes.
Type***: Fullbody
sP / CSC / USD: USD
This work?
;; Just letting you know that I've added you to the list & will do my best to get around to you asap! ^^
;; It should be quite possible to make the fan bigger! However, your link is broken! D: Would you mind providing me with a screenshot or something? Musical notes are pretty much greek to me anyway, so... yeah. xD
;; Ah! Mosquitoes are one of the things that bother me, not because I mind them as a concept, but because they're attracted to me like magnetism! Everyone else is safe from the critters if I'm around to serve as buffet. It's a running joke at home that it's because my blood tastes extra sweet due to all the fruit I eat. orz
I get that spiders can be a bit of a jump-scare if the ones that live by you are potentially harmful. We don't really get harmful spiders around here, and most of them are pretty tiny. I think there's one sort of big one that can be a bit of a menace, but it's generally pretty timid. Honestly we're more worried about ticks around here than anything else.
Anyway!
It took a bit longer than anticipated, but I think we've more or less reached the end. Let me know what you think?
The caterpillar, chrysalis, and egg should be easy to remove / crop out / use for different things, and the butterfly with the tails is made to be 'detatched' as well, so if you want an extra file with just that butterfly for something you can have that too. (:
;;
Pretty basic sketch, but you get the idea:
Are we sort of in the right area?
(Tattoos will be added during the colouring process for the sake of my sanity. orz)
- definitely in the right area ^_^ love it <3
;; Great! Then I'll get back to you when he's done! ^^
- Hehe! I experience the same thing with mosquitoes, and I am also a fruit/sweets individual. I have quite a few scars on my ankles from that job because the escapees would just devour me any chance they got em. We recently had a new mosquito species introduced in my state and the first real introduction spot is where I live. They absolutely love me, and they're vicious too. Ugh. I hate winter but loath the warm days because the nibblers come and get me :(
I'm going to be blunt, you went above and beyond what my expectations were. Your art style was so very perfect for this piece, and I am over the moon with the final product. Thank you so very much! I've sent payment already! If I could, I would very much like the butterfly file as well because I will find some way to use it :)
One small side questions, do you do larger pieces? Like say something for a tattoo??
;; Ha-ha, perhaps there is something to it then! d: That whole situation sounds like a bit of a menace. Roll-ons & spray, I suppose? Personally I just try to avoid the shade on summer evenings, but if mosquitoes were introduced to where you live then I'm sure it's because the habitat is ideal, which I guess would make them a bit more difficult to avoid. Ah! The curse of sweet blood. ;;; ~
That's probably the best response I got have got - thank you! I'm beyond happy you like it so much! You can save both files from ( here ), and they both have transparent backgrounds, of course. I hope you have fun working on that profile! Please enjoy! ^^
As for tattoos, I'm not completely sure I'm comfortable doing them, as I know that my style is a bit messy, and they would be permanent marks on someone's skin, which is a pretty big deal & a humbling concept. That said, I guess it would depend on the specifics of the design. I've never done one before, so I think I would like to sit & fiddle with the piece a bit before 'officially' accepting the job, if only to get a confident overview of what I'm doing. I suppose you can say I'm cautiously optimistic about the idea? Ha-ha;; I guess I'd have to decide on a case-to-case basis. ~
oh whoops! this should work, so the top bar is going to be upside down on the fan stick to our left, and the bottom on right side up to the right, so that the music starts from the inside out if that makes sense xD
Holy wow -this is fucking amazing! Omfg!!! I love him! Wowww
Sorry if youre about to hate me. -I like the smaller petals but can you make them droop a bit more. -Id like if you could flip him so hes looking to the right. -The arms look a bit too big and head looks to small. -I like in the first pic where his body went horizontal then he twisted his head.
Sorry. Still willing to do it?
OMFGGGG AHHHH hes adorable!! 8D do you mind if I actually send payment during the weekend? I realized that Im actually 100 short on csc ;A;
;; It's fine. I'm not the hating kind. d: I just got the impression you wanted it a bit more horror-estique than the original experiment. Let's revert. Round II!
Re-drew the whole thing. Let me know how that looks?
;; So glad you like him! :'D Just bid whenever, and you'll get the final file after that. I'm in no rush. ^^
Ah much better. Sorry by horror I guess I meant like a snake. Overall they dont look to scary but you know that it could do. Being of nature that kills only to eat.
Would you mind making the body a little longer? Forgot to mention dont need the extra leafs on the back since adding moss. Then for the petals could you make the right one a bit smaller? I know when its colored it might not show but it looks like floppy ears right now.
Thank you. I liked the original just not how I saw Snod.
