Other Info**: Meant to be a carrier of faithful souls to the pearly gates, so sort of majestic but peaceful, if that makes sense? Showing wings in some way... Type***: SP or CSC. Let me know if you have a preference between the two.

So the main inspiration for the character came from this picture with the designs and tail, but I'm not as fond of the spikes on the back? Other ideas for wing patterns could be basic butterfly wings like on this guy? but I would prefer traditionally dragon-shaped wings rather than the butterfly? I'm hoping for a muted neutral (like stone) color for the main body, with the color coming from the wings as on this guy. Body could have some patterns if you think it needs them, and I found an example of patterns that might go well, although what do I know, here... Colors, I'd love it if you drew from the stained glass windows one might find in cathedrals. Generally bright, powerful colors, but you can have free reign here if you'd like.

Let me know if that makes any graphic sense at all to you. I really hope I didn't just create a horrid monster thing... general idea is a dragon that looks like the cathedral he roosts in, if that makes sense, with the butterflies as possible patterns (although you can feel free to disregard them as suggestions if you have other pattern ideas?)

Doubt it will make too much of a difference, but if it comes to it, had the thought of light passing through the wings like through glass

This guy is freakin' massive, holy eff.

Here's something to start. : Main inspiration taken from cathedrals, with a touch of butterfly -- : roughly 50-50. Lighting will be from behind, so (if I get it right) he'll be bathed in the light from his tail (assuming that looks good). I can fill in more details from his tail & forward (down his sides) if you like, but I don't want to make him too cluttered either. The basic idea I have is to make him a bit stone-like in texture (is he scaled, feathered, or does he have fur?), maybe with a touch of almost-opal around areas where 'cracks' might appear (assuming that works in practice). Let me know your thoughts?

(By the way, I just need to note that the amount of details in this thing qualifies for the extra details fee. I'm sure you figured, but still. ~)

pff what details? He looks amazing! I think I like the second one more and I love all the ideas you mentioned in your post. As for body type I think scales but I certainly like the stony look idea for it.

The one thing and it may be my inability to visualize well but the scale of the tail seems much bigger than head and wings? If that's just perspective feel free to hit me. Picturing 2d into 3d is just hard for my non - visual butt.

I did draw the tail pretty immense (it started out about the size of , but then it just kept growing). I also have a natural (bad) habit of making big tails. ;;; It's an easy fix though.

It's still pretty big, and of course I can keep making it smaller & have it play more on perspective, but the tail in your first example is pretty big, and I figured you wanted something along those lines..? It's up to you, really. (Right now the entire tail, from base to tip, is probably about 1+(1/4-1/3) times the size of the rest of the dragon's length (tail's base to the tip of the nose)).

That looks better. The larger tail I couldn't help but seeing it sort of dragging along as he tried to fly. Such a pretty though! Very excited.

• Now the only problem is that both my programmes absolutely refuse to let me save it with the semi-transparent rays of light without messing it up somehow (I've been at it for two hours now, no luck). So! I've given it a bit of a more subtle glow instead (which it apparently accepts, huh). You can have it without any glow as well, if you'd like or prefer that.
