Character Name/Ref: Lana
Style: Painted quad
Personality/Pose Suggestion/Other Info: Lana has a kind of serious/stoic personality, she can come off as icy. She carries herself in an elegant/graceful way. She's caring but don't let many emotions show through. I really like this wolf pic as inspiration for her character and her pelt/coloring. I want her to look wolfish. Her eyes are a blue and penetrating (like the color in the wolf ref). She has a little sideways crescent moon design on her forehead in the brownish shade that's on the wolf ref's nose. Around the end of her tail if you could make a leather cord wrapping around it with some jewels attached to it, that would be awesome.

Starting with a base sketch to figure out her details, then we'll slap some colours on after to map that out as well. ~ Thoughts? Anything I missed? Should her mane be fluffy like the ref, or wilder / more grassy, too? Let me know! Thank you!
Ooooh! Either 1 or 4, surprise me :) And for the crescent moon, could it be facing down (lol kind of hard to explain) but like both points of the moon are downward toward her eyes and the curved part is upwards. Bleh idk if that makes sense... shaped like a hill lol if that is a better explanation of the orientation. Tell me if it doesn’t make sense lol I’m trying here 😂

She looks good! I think her ears should be straight like the ref though; since she still uses them to hear, having them bend like that would be weird. I also think the insides should be close to the top of the outer ears like a regular animal. She should have more of her mane fall on her back. I like the vines and flowers on her back, so just put them on top of the fur. Finally, I think the floof on her chest should be trimmed down a bit so it doesn't cover her whole chest. Could you put one or two flowers in her mane? And I think she should have tiny fangs.

Hopefully you aren't sick of my nitpicking yet.
Hmm, tbh, I'm still not convinced about her back man. I expected it to be more like in this ref; though, you know, more grassy and with flowers/vines.
There's something about her raised paw that bothers me. I think it has the same problem as that black dog commission. It looks more just attached to her body than it's a bent limb. I hope that makes sense!
I...changed my mind about her ears. I think they look better in the initial drawing, but I'd still like them drawn straighter.

The last thing I’d say is take out the inside spikes of the back mane and leave the outside the way. So it looks the same kind of "fluffy" as her chest fur.
Pretty!! I love her! Any way you could make the body a little more defined/slender? I know arctic wolves are FLOOF hehe, but maybe a little narrower of a waist, dipping in a little more before the hind leg? And like across the shoulder blades/ upper back?
And then would it be possible to get this detail too? "Around the end of her tail if you could make a leather cord wrapping around it with some jewels attached to it, that would be awesome."

Ahh I love those jewels, they're perfectly what I imagined! And with her body, would it be possible to like, just make it a little smaller/dantier? Like a little less fluff so there's showing more shape of her structure?

I like the pose! I feel like the top part of the snout should be a bit bigger (more space between the top of the head and the top teeth?) so the eyes align better. But Im assuming this is just part of the sketch so with a clean up it shows the eye better
