Yea, one of the older nannies passed away at the start of the week, so we were busy with things around that, today was the unveiling of another nanny's gravestone, and there were a few other deaths this past week, though we weren't close with them .. it's been a hectic week. And my mother in law knew them, one was one of her students from her/our work, and... so that made work get delayed and while working for the paper, we had a 2 page article fall out, and then its replacement fell through as well.

Shitty week. So, I'll try to read up soon?

Lee's indifferent really about the Nanny that passed away, even though that's one of the Nannies that looked after them at kohanga/preschool, but Catherine's more upset about it. We took them both with us to the marae when Nanny Kui was welcomed on.

On thursday Catherine went to the service at the other marae (she was important to both, so she laid out at both). That one kept her late at night, since it was a service/time to remember and talk/tell stories. Catherine skipped school and went to the final service on friday, and the up to the urupa where Nanny Kui was burried. Catherine's getting close to the Nannies, both on the road we live in, and down in Muriwai.

Phew.

Gee wiz it sounds like they are dealing well with it for their age really. I didn't experience any family deaths until my grandfather in 2010 (goodness has it been 5 years really?) so I'd think they were doing well really.

It's not my father/mother in laws's parents that passed, just one of the extended family Nannies. We are related, about two steps away? But Catherine's close to a lot of them, she visits one of the Nannies down the road 2-3 times after school.

The girls know that my mom's mother passed away, but they only met her once.

I guess its hard to feel attached when you don't see them much at all >.<
