I feel like is a reference to Okami. as in the game rosaries are one of the main weapons. The colors (yellow and orange) and the shape of the beads are very similar to that of the game. Also, the description could be referring to the game too, as the protagonist is a goddess purifying the land of evil. Okami Rosary
