- Is a Lazy Town reference, and is a Portal reference.
- TV show and game respectively.
Thank you. I don't know how they spell it, but my friend's granddaughter's name is the same as your username. Fond memories. :D
- I spell it wrong, lol. They most likely spell it Kiara.
- I know those new donation present wigs are a reference to those doll busts with the extendable hair, but I can't for the life of me remember what they were called. Can anyone help me out?
Added all the rest of the donation present toys to the list.
I assumed they were a reference to the Barbie ones, but I don't know if there's any other brand that made something similar.
- I had no idea, I never played with them, but I remember seeing commercials for them as a kid. Added them now. shrug
I'm not 100% sure but I think could be a reference to the movie Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain (a.k.a. Amélie in short)
the item's image doesn't look exactly the same as the cigar tin in the movie (the subeta one is part green, the one in the movie is entirely red as you can see in the image behind the link), but it is an achievement prize related to treasure chests and the description reads:
"To some, a discarded cigar tin is a piece of useless junk. But to imaginative eyes, it's a treasure box in which to store all manner of tiny but very important trinkets."
which to me sounds a lot like a reference to the fact that in the movie Amélie finds an old cigar box in the wall of her apartment with some tiny trinkets/things a boy who used to live there before her hid there decades earlier.. it is literally referred to as a box of "treasure" in the movie and she eventually returns it to the "boy" (who is now a middle-aged man and is very happy to get it back because the things that would be "useless junk" to others were actually very important to him and bring back a lot of memories etc.)
I'm sorry if this is still too vague/not strong enough evidence, but I felt convinced enough to post about it here anyway since I didn't see it in the movies list yet..
[edit] I think I found another Amélie reference item: really looks and sounds like it refers to the garden gnome Amélie steals from her (isolated) father's garden and gives to a befriended stewardess to take with her on her trips and take pictures of the gnome at various famous landmarks and send them to her dad so he thinks the gnome came to life and went on a trip by itself :')
on that same note the other items related to the same battle opponent could also be references to the film, but I'm less sure about those:
Can be the first Dragon Ball item tribute?
It looks like a tribute to InoShikaCho
Half boar/butterfly

Jubilee from the X-men franchise... The doll's look seems to be based primarily on her appearance in the movie X-men: Apocalypse.
Mist shrouded artifact (A peaceful feeling radiates from this artifact.) - Seems to be a reference to Rydia from final fantasy 4 (game). She was a summoner from 'Mist' but also the hair style is very similar to hers. The decoration part changes in various appearances of her, but one of them is near identical to the one there in the overlay. specifically this one other shots of it available on her wiki page linked above.
