Still no event? School starts in 2 weeks for me. At this point, I'll be too busy to participate in any event actively, and my excitement has ebbed. I don't even care about it anymore. Even if this event is supposed to start this late, I seriously suggest that the staff figure out how to put something during the months of june/july/august, when it's actually summer for most people.
