No time for that, college is back.
okays, here I go - SPOILER (click to toggle)
Yes I understand that Sara's death is probably the biggest thing that happened on the show, but there was like no follow up or comments about the first episode, like about the date or bomb. Whelp, we are over that right? I mean Felicity nearly died from an explosion. Just another day in Starling City.
Also, my biggest concern (RANT)...like Sara's whole deal...um she's like in the League of Assassins, right. And this should be the same League of Assassins/Shadows that was in the Dark Knight Trilogy that well, tried to destroy Gotham City twice with a water evaporator machine and then a nuke. The same League who also in Batman the animated series was going to set off bombs all over the world in all the Lazarus Pits and kill like more than half of the world's population. I'm just stating all these things because that is how I know the League from previous interpretations. I am really baffled that the characters in Arrow are so nonchalant that Sara is a member of essentially a terrorist organization. They are like "oh yeah she like has a tough life and swings by once in awhile quickly cause she is like an assassin and all". What? Really? Oliver, sister, father - you got any questions or red flags about that. And you really got that upset when she was killed, because you know she obviously is a walking duck if she is an assassin. I know the League helped out during the siege with Slade in the show, I'm confused and need to do research or something. Does like team Arrow have a friendemy (hate - vs- we're cool I guess) relationship with the League like Batman and Ra's do??
Like Ra's is a wee bit crazy right? Whelp hopefully we get answers and flash backs. And we will get Malcolm. What in the world have those two been up to??!
I'm kind of edgy about Laurel's transformation. I just don't know if the actor will be about to pull if off. IDK.
SPOILER (click to toggle)
I guess for me that was a good thing, but I can see how the continuity and logic in choosing not to following up on Felicity's date or the bomb was a bad thing. ;x
That's a fair point! ;O They do make it seem like being in the League is no big deal at all. The show could have ramped up a lot of drama over questioning her motives for staying in the League more. ;s I wish I could answer your question / dilemma about the League's relationship with Team Arrow, but I only know as much as you do. Hopefully someone can answer it for us. xD I'm also concerned how easy it was to kill her. |D
It really doesn't matter what Laurel does, because in the end, all I'm seeing is bad acting from the actress. Can't look past it. ;c
Oh, I agree, and the change is a bit odd even for folks like me who aren't familiar with the canon at all. LOL in fact, that might actually be a pretty cool treatment of Superman. Fake!Bruce Wayne might be pretty funny too. Nope, he's not Batman, actually Alfred is. HA, TROLLING.
I have seen ep two. And three.
SPOILERS for S3 ep 2+3
SPOILER (click to toggle)
So glad what wasn't Felicity centric? Romance? I wish she hadn't accepted his job offer either, but in a way, it's a convenient setup for an obviously telegraphed "IN WITH THE BAD GUY'S COMPANY" because I'm increasingly sure Ray isn't looking at Top Seekrit weapons plans because he's going to go be a philanthropist with 'em. xD
And yeah, I agree with that the recovery time from Sara's death is ludicrously short. It felt unearned and unfinished, like a plot point they just wanted to check off and yep, okay, done. That's a shocking event that should resonate through the whole season, yet it doesn't. She's all but forgotten at this point, it feels like.
Duuuude. While I'm no fan of Lauren in particular, and I'm deeply side-eying her not very convincing "I HAVE A FIARRRR INSIDE I WANT TO BEAT PEOPLE UP" I guess I can see where the writers thought "hey, if we set up her sister as BC and then kill her tragically, Lauren can have a revenge arc too just like Ollie!" which, okay, but I don't think she can emote enough to pull it off.
But whatever, the super hot trainer is worth all of it. ALL OF IT. I do like that Ollie and everyone she knows shut her down so she's going out to find her own training, and the more we see of Mr. Trainer, I'm totally okay with that. Hello, new cast favorite.
I thought it was neat to see Tommy too, although the whole Hong Kong/Argus segue seems a bit jarring to me. In my mind, his time at the island was far worse than what they're showing us now, and while this Hong Kong bit explains more of his weapons proficiencies, it still seems odd. And yeah, not a fan of the strange retconning important points in their relationships.
I'm happier with Thea as Potential Buttkicker, actually. Ollie is still super annoying as Older Brother Mansplainer I Know What's Best For You but at least he has a couple good lines about "You might not need me but I need you." He should try more of that rather than the "NO YOU CANNOT HELP ME BECAUSE YOU ARE GIRL AND MY FEELS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOUR AGENCY" that he pulls with every woman in his life.
Will be very interesting to see if Thea pops on a mask at some point as well. This whole family is so dysfunctional. xD
BUT IS...IS...IS THIS NYSSA BACK AGAIN? HOPEFULLY FOR MORE THAN THREE SECONDS OF PLOT TIME? YES PLEASE, AND YES PLEASE MORE FALLOUT FROM SARA'S DEATH. Maybe with Nyssa we'll actually find a way to make Sara's death meaningful.
AHAHAHA Alfred being Batman would be too funny omg. xD

Oh lol I meant Olicity, but typed Felicity, my bad. xD
I thought Ray found Felicity's stuff on the computer, but I'm guessing ... it's his stuff really? |D Tired of the old hashed out love triangle they're setting up with Ray-Felicity-Ollie. /snoozefest Idk about you, but I'm finding Felicity more and more annoying. ;s
LOL Especially when Laurel uses the term "fire inside"... did you like get your period?? or maybe you have a case of a really bad urinary tract infection? pelvic inflammatory disease by chance? lolololol She's trying to be SO dramatic with metaphors that I just can't --- it's too funny to be taken seriously. Just no. Tbh she seems too immature emotionally to be a DA. Thea seems more level-headed than her and THAT'S scary.
lol yes super hot trainer A+ xD except I was like Ollie, stop being an asshole and just try and help Laurel out, don't you see she has FIRE inside her and will go train without you anyway? uuuugh
I hope the Hong Kong bits get more psychologically damaging akin to island stuff. I expect them to be? Unless Ollie's "my five years were hell" thing was being overdramatic.
I hated the ARGUS thing with Diggle and Lyla. /yawnfest Funny how Ollie shot a guy with a gun yet couldn't have a gun handy when Diggle got KO'ed. Okay, sure whatever.
Yeah! I found Ollie perfectly handling things with Thea. c: Their scene was so cute. Old bro, young sis. AWWWWW. The highlight of the episode maybe?
Ditto, it was nice to see someone care about what happened to Sara.
Oh, hahaha, this is what happens when I try to continue making a halloween costume and watching TV at the same time I miss stuff.
SPOILER (click to toggle)
I too am very glad Olicity seems to be over. I am not finding Felicity more annoying, but I am finding the Ray/Felicity exchanges kind of annoying. I'm still really confused why she feels the need to hide her new job from Ollie and Dig as if it's some Big Awful Horrible Secret, surely they'd be glad she's financially stable even if it is kind of "omg betrayal". They're all adults, aren't they?
I thought he was looking at his own weapons information, not hers, but you're right it's her office and her computer that she just sprinted away from. SHE KNOWS BETTER THAN THAT WHAT THE HELL. She knows he's an awesome hacker himself, so why the hell....oh god this plot makes no sense.
The thing that made me frown in "WTF really?" confusion is when Felicity literally continues a conversation about casually hacking people in front of her boss and then brushes it away with an "oh yeah, actually, my days are usually much crazier than this." Like...seriously? Really seriously? Break the law in front of a dude you don't know all that well who has access to your personnel file and can take three seconds to email all of that to the authorities? Because if he knowingly employs someone who's hacking on company equipment, on company time, in front of the freaking boss, he's culpable in any wrongdoing too. What were the writers thinking?
Yeah, I wanted Ollie to be less of an idiot with Laurel, especially since he apparently bends over backwards to tell and/or train everyone else in the near vicinity. The about-face seemed annoying. You'd think he'd be interested in giving her a couple of hand to hand lessons, especially face to face with her huge split lip and big shiner, but NOPE GOTTA BE AN ASS INSTEAD. Much more important.
I hope the Hong Kong bits are more traumatic, although I think it calls for subtlety that no one in the cast except maybe Dig is capable of. I mean, Ollie's got to care about some stranger's kid more than his own safety and the safety of family and friends, and that's a big ask for a teenager. I don't think it's being handled well, and I really hope it shapes up into something a little less "oh, we're just throwing this in for...uh...reasons."
I....am not sure I even like Diggle's new relationship. At first, it was like Oh wait, no, not just coworker, ex wife. Oh wait, and now we're together, because...uh....we are! And oh hey, baby, and this supposedly awesomely close family live that happened in the 0.3 seconds after we told y'all about it. It's an unearned story plot and one that feels pretty fakeyfake to me. I'm all for giving Dig some happy family/lovins time, but come on, writers, at least support it a little. Show, don't tell! And I know Dig's excursion with the S Squad means things on a canon level (the team apparently is important in the canon and goes to do interesting things) but it smacked of...yep, we're doing this and okay now we're done. It just feels fast and rushed and bleeeehhhh.
I know, right? Makes me wonder why Ollie doesn't just carry a gun just in case. You know, in case the bad guy hires one more badguy than he has arrows for. rolls eyes
Yes. More Nyssa would be great. Super great.
Okay ... Why is Oliver always falling into bed with girls. I'm just. Sigh.
Oops, long time no reply. SORRY. T__T
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Oh yeah, she's hiding her day job from the team. Idk why either. She honestly comes across as super immature and it pisses me the fuck off now. ;l Probably because of her interactions with Ray. I felt so bad for her mom more than I felt bad for her. Idk. :s Turning into a Felicity hater slowlyyyyyy. /cries
LOL YES her level of vulnerability in front of Ray is sickening to say the least. /facepalm I GUESS SHE LIIIIIKES HIM THEN.
Because learning self-defense isn't important to a DA at all. Nope. Ollie was such an ass. I guess he likes to keep his women as damsels in distress. It helps his hero complex.
That's exactly the problem with Dig's new family situation. We saw him struggle with what's her name in earlier seasons and that didn't go anywhere and out of nowhere this antagonistic relationship popped out and it developed in the reverse direction. Everything is so reverse psychology in the show. I HATE YOU BECAUSE I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU BECAUSE I HATE YOU. omggggg make it stop
How did you like the Felicity centric episode? The ending was the best part lol. Totally caught me off-guard. ;O
What can I say, he has needs? xD
I'M AT SEASON 3. DAMN ROY, SOOOON. sorry, having a moment there lmao.
Doesn't the poor guy know wearing red DRAWS attention? lol color fail but okay also congrats on almost catching up yeah? 8D
He's a superstar, it's fine okay. Damn damn, I missed Arrow ugh.
I still think they should have trained him for longer. His star status makes no sense to me. ;s New episode today woooooooo. <3 If you've seen the latest one (the one about Felicity), omg THAT ending
Dude dude, chill. I'm only at first ep. I'm not Barry ;u;
maybe you should be :C :C insert Laurel poutface here
W-what's with all the Olicity .. I thought he said it for the Slade situation .. gdi I'm confused. @ Starlord [Edit] JFC THAT SMILE NO DOWN BOY, OMG
THANK you. So did I. Apparently he meant it? Apparently I missed his puppy dog eyes towards Felicity during the last two seasons?
way to jump the shark, writers
I ship it but I am heavily confused as in why is he so carefree about it all of a sudden? Like it's really open? I don't know what's going on. But then, he will probably push her away because of his "status". @ Starlord [Edit] He lives in a makeshift house-wannabe hiding spot .. but can buy expensive stuff. I'm. Okay.
ofc because dramaaaaaa xD Idk. Diggle is ONE good adviser. Or maybe he slipped some sedatives / happy pills into Ollie's water out of pity when Ollie wasn't looking. Idk man.
Who? I don't remember episode one that well. :P
Tbh if Oliver is poor .... then I want to be his kind of poor lmao. Diggle is one sweet cookie, I like him. @ Starlord [Edit] Love how Oliver is his own greatest fear. Gpoy eh eh
They showed his make-shift house in episode one? Totally don't remember this haha. lol at Ollie being "poor" ahahahhaha sure sure, wait until you see Thea, she's totally "poor" too
He is, he's just being ignored lately. :c
