I have no fond memories of christmas simply because I've never really had any joyful holiday season. But I do like the colours and the snow. It makes me happy to see people happy at the very least c:

I remember taking my kids out sledding one Christmas Eve in the evening...we had such fun! Then we went home and made popcorn and hot chocolate and sat by the fire. It was a perfect day!

Until recently I was living in Florida. The first Christmas without any of my kids or grands around I was really sad and feeling sorry for myself. On Christmas eve afternoon I put myself on the couch and started to have a good cry. Some pounding on my doorbell really mad me mad and I refused to get up. Then the rude intrusive person started literally pounding on the door. I finally gave in and got up to give them a piece of my mind. I flung open the door prepared to really let them know how rude they were and obviously I would have answered the first ring had I wanted to talk to anyone. There at the door was my youngest daughter and her husband. Turned out to be a very good Christmas after all.
This sounds like fun event!

My favorite holiday memory is from a couple years ago. My parents were having a hard time financially and my sister and me weren't expecting any gifts because we understood what was going on. My sister loves Bruno Mars and his CD had just come out, I think. Anyways, my parents called us down..told us to close our eyes...and they put something in our hands. They put the BM CD in my sisters and an ITunes GC in mine. As soon as my sister opened her eyes she started screaming, jumping, and crying.. she was soooo happy. That made my parents cry too. Lol I'm tearing up just writing this. My mother told me last year that my father and her fell asleep super happy that night because they weren't expecting our reactions. She told me that they cried together because she saw that even in the toughest times we could be happy.

My favorite memories are always of me and my ma baking in the kitchen. She has instilled the sense of calm and pleasure that baking can give someone and also the merriment of giving it away so others can enjoy it too! <3
Love may not always be destiny, But a Gift.

LITLLE BUB! ❤️
One of my favourite memories is when I got my 2 seater GT Snow Racer sled for Christmas and my cousin and I wanted to take it out for a spin. The two of us were only 12 at the time and this stupid sled was massive and heavy so we took turns pulling the dang thing to the hill to go sledding. When we finally got to the hill, brilliant us decided to go down the steepest hill there. After a long uphill battle with one pulling and the other pushing this sled we reached the top. GLORY WAS ONLY ONE SMALL STEP AWAY! (Or so we thought.)
Excited that all our efforts would finally reach fruition, DOWN THE HILL WE WENT! Sad thing is, we failed to notice the giant jump ramp at the bottom... All I remember was flying down this stupid steep hill screaming at the top of my lungs how big of a mistake this was. Smart people would have bailed, but no we weren't clever enough to think of such a feat in a pinch. Both of us were thrown from the sled due to the jump and sent flying.
The next thing I remember was both of us sitting in the hospital with stupid looks on our faces when the x-rays came back and both of had broken our arms, my cousin's right and my left. To this day we still joke about how dumb yet fiercely determined we both were to go sledding.
What is a GT Snow Racer you ask?
The one I got was the hillarious Brett Hull Noma GT Snow Racer, only reason I remember it cause I got a silly poster with it telling me how much of a winner I was! The memories hahahaha....

My favourite holiday memory would be the first time I was celebrating Christmas with my beloved's parents. I didn't live together with my girlfriend yet and didn't know her family well and was pretty shy and unsure but they showed such warmth and hospitality towards me that it will always warm my heart, Plus they have this tradition of having a fondue for dinner on Christmas Eve so there are these bowls of broth on the table and everyone holds a piece of meat in them and waits till it's boiled. Helps woth coming together very much.

I still love the holiday season even though it's not as magical as it was when I was a kid, but my favorite memories are definitely from when I was younger. On Christmas Eve, my parents always lit a fire in the fireplace and we'd sit by the tree and eat cookies and drink cider and listen to Christmas music. We'd read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and The Littlest Christmas Tree and just have a quiet night at home, which was always just so perfect and cozy. c:

My favorite memory was from a few years ago, here on Subeta. I had the crazy idea to do anon caroling through gifts to people in the shoutbox. A few people actually joined in and it was so fun. I also just found the thread. I forgot that eventually some people chose to read stories. I would love to do it again this year, to be honest. Offline, it hasn't felt like the holidays for several years for various different reasons. I think that's why I do as much as I can on Subeta during Lumi because I know this is like a second home for some and the only place they get to really celebrate. It just warms my heart to gift others and light up their life, if only for a few moments (or see the "Thanks anon! You made my day!").
Thank you so much for doing this event! _ Thank you Cathii, Varsna, Violin, Styx, Mail, Ursa and Mesmer!!! ❤️ __ ❤️

Short but so true: My favorite holiday memory is when we are sitting warm inside with family and friends with hot choco watching movies __

My most fond memory is the last time my mom and I went Christmas shopping. She got something for my brother and something for my sister and then asked me what I wanted for Christmas. As I was walking about looking at things, a flannel nightgown caught my eye and I told me mom, this is what I want. She got it for me and it sat under the tree with the other presents. I'm pretty sure, after I opened the present, I put it on. I've had it for over 25 years. I only wear it a few times during wintertime, because being in So Cal it doesn't get extremely cold. So, it gets warm wearing it, but it reminds me of my mom.
