I didn't quite get my goal this week, or the week before, I haven't had much time to get anywhere near my computer. I got that job and have been going through training. I'm also now on the search for a car that can get me to said job as it appears my family finds it too much of a bother to help me out.
On my writing though I have made an agreement with my commissioner that I will scrap everything I have for the story I'm writing for her, cause I hate it, and will start anew for NaNo seeing how I have it all story boarded and everything. That way she can have it quicker than if I were writing a chapter a month.
That sucks about the writing, but good about the job :) Having your own car works out much better in the end too. I can't wait to have mine =P
As it's my reading week, I'm actually going to give it a go... Wish me luck guys!
This sounds like a great idea! I'm going to think about what kind of goals would be most realistic for me and what would work best, so I'm going to mull this over before preparing myself... Love this idea and kudos to the creator!
❄️ Seeking Elsa or Olaf inspired CWs ❄️
Good luck!
Yes, yes! More monkeys make life better. :P
How'd you all do on your goals this last week? I managed to wrap up my little adventure story thing so I'm happy with that - now just need to figure out what I want to attempt for nano this year. :D
Yay! Good job! I didn't write squat lol I was so immersed in job hunting and preparing for Halloween that I totally forgot =( BUT I did get hired last week at an art gallery. I start tomorrow actually. So excited :P
I'll set myself a goal of 1.5k words for this week, as my new job is only part time. We'll see what happens.
Thank you! =D
I'd like to join this. It sound like a good way to actually get writing done. Would two thousand words be a good start?
Check out my stories. http://www.fimfiction.net/user/Kazlene
- I didn't have a goal last week, but I read through, and edited four chapters of my story. Still a loooooong way to go if I want to finish re-reading it before nano comes again. I don't think i'm gonna make it!
I got a little bit done, but we've been preparing for Hurricane (or Tropical Storm, whatever) Sandy to come through both at home and at the store so I really haven't had much time to even think about my writing. Now that the storm seems to be breaking up into just a wind storm I think I might be writing a bit more, as long as the lights stay on that is.
Yay!! Congratulation on the job! Working in an Art gallery would be a freaking dream for me!! So excited for you!
Yay! Welcome all new monkeys! =D
It was soooo windy last night. The walls were shaking 0_o luckily that was all we got from Sandy up here though. It hardly even rained.
Thank you! Trust me, it's a freaking dream come true right there. I've never been so proud to be hired somewhere lol Finally a part time job that's remotely related to the field I want to work in =P
Yeah, even though our city and county were in a "state of emergency" the rain and the wind wasn't that bad and from what I can tell all the wind did was knock some leaves off their branches.
That sounds awesome! I wish there was more actual jobs in the field I want to be in, but working in shops isn't so bad. :)
I think editing counts as working on your writing. Good luck with the reading! I still need to figure out if I want to try to finish off an old nano, try something completely new, or pick up an old idea that I do have all mapped out - but that I've also started a half dozen times without getting past the first three chapters or so, lol. I do rather like my villain in that one though plus it's got dragons and magical glass horses and other fun stuff . . . now if only the main characters were as interesting as the side characters it might actually get somewhere. xD
That is really great that it is connected to what you want to do! I've yet to reach that point myself, lol.
Ooh, scary! Hope everything calms down around you soon. Stay safe!
Well, I still work in a shop but it's inside a very large art gallery. It basically sells anything that's "artsy". Which is awesome because I love art. I'm happy to hear there's no serious storm damage where you are =) I had to move a small tree out of the way in the park this morning and that's really the worse of the damage I saw in this area.
I still can't believe I got the job. It's really the biggest lucky break I ever got lol
