Popcorn is banned in my sister's apartment complex, for the very reason that people burn it way too often. And when the smoke alarms go off, it immediately sends a signal to the fire brigade, who turn up. Even if we stop the alarm, they still show up to see if everything is okay, and they also charge fees when they turn up and nothing is on fire. So, no more poppicorns. :(

Why can't people just not walk away from the kitchen when they put their popcorn in the micro. But yeah, every time an alarm went off in school the fire department came and they charged like $1500 every time they come if there is no fire, or some other ridiculous prices. So obviously when it's a scheduled test they don't charge a fee because they're informed of it being a test and they themselves actually probably perform it, but in high school when it was that kid who pulled it they were looking for that kid because they wanted to either suspend him/her or have them pay or something like that. I think one time my brother pulled a fire alarm at a museum. He was older than me, like maybe he was 16/17 and he did it, or maybe he didn't it was over 15 years ago so I don't remember but I think he did. I don't know if they ever found out he did it but my parents knew.

Actually this reminds me of a story.

It's not really embarrassing, but one day way back in middle school, also around 12-15 years ago or something, I was on my way to homeroom, which was the gym, and there was a payphone next to my homeroom, either that or lunch, because the gym was across from the cafeteria), but I think it was homeroom because I remember not many people were around. I don't know why but I wanted to talk to my mom, either I wasn't feeling well or something, so I called her cellphone, but no one picked up. I may have tried a second time and still no answer, and I think I also tried my home number and no answer, so the 11/12 year old me started to get freaked out because I didn't know what happened to my mom so I started crying and then I picked up the phone and dialed 911, it rang and when someone picked up I hung up. I didn't even know what happened to me but I just walked away, or something. So either later in the day or the next day I walk by the principals office which was on the way to my homeroom and I see a police officer there and I freak out because I overhear them talking that someone called the police or whatnot and they came to check out if everything was okay. Then I get to homeroom and the whole class is told to sit down on the benches and they talk to us telling us that someone called the police and they think it's someone from our homeroom, etc.. and they ask for that person to come up (which of course I didn't because how embarrassing would that have been to get up in front of 30-40 other students and admit that you called the police for no reason). And I've always been this shy, mousy, keep to myself kind of person in middle school. They never found out it was me who did it and I haven't told many people about it, maybe one or two of my friends in high school or college, but not at the time I did it. I kinda felt like a rebel about it for a while. LOL. At least if they did find out it was me I never got in trouble for it from them or my parents. I'm pretty sure that day in homeroom my face was bright red or something so if they looked carefully I'm sure they could figure out it was me because I know I was nervous and my heart was racing.

They probably thought it was a crank call to the police, but it was just bad judgement and I think when my mom didn't answer, that might have been my first actual panic attack (that I can remember). I've had panic attacks in high school while driving to somewhere new or whatnot and even for other things, and thankfully I try to remain calm and stress free so I haven't had a panic attack in years, but my last one was probably when I got my first speeding ticket three years ago. I got pulled over and I was eating mcdonalds french fries and I started to cry hysterically. I was able to calm myself enough to talk to the officer without bawling (because I didn't really want him to see me in that panicked state). And I had been pulled over literally one block away from my apartment at the time. Luckily, I got out of paying that ticket because in RI (and maybe other states) the law is if you have a clean record for 3 years you can get a ticket pardoned or something (by going to the court date) and I only had to pay the court fee of like $35. It was still on my record but I didn't have to pay the fine. And actually it has been almost 3 years since, so I think by now my record is clean again.

Honestly, I think they really didn't know because I know my parents would have talked to me about it and I kept so quiet. The red-face thing was more of an exaggeration but I could feel my heart pounding when they were trying to find out who it was. It's just about the only thing I can remember that I've ever done that was like naughty or bad. LOL. I'm sure I've been a bitch to my mom several times, and I've done teenager things, but I was never a naughty or bad girl.
