PETA drives me completely and totally wall-crawling batshit insane because I knew 11 people who claim they were either in PETA or support them and they were ALL FUCKNUTS! This one chick, Joanna CONSTANTLY harassed me to visit the website and support or join and shit and it drove me CRAZY! Then she got on this "never eat anything with a face" kick and badgered me to no end over enjoying eating chicken(I love the chicken, it's adorable and delicious) but then one day I saw her eating a slice of pepperoni pizza and I was like "What happened to no meat?" and she said "I was really hungry!" Filthy dirty rotting sticking HYPOCRITE!
Oh and she flipped out on me for having cats as pets because in her fucktastically screwed-up brain, it's WRONG to consider animals pets and not equals. Look I love my cats. I take in strays, I get them their shots, feed them, water them, they have cat toys and sleep on my bed. WHAT IS SO OFFENSIVE ABOUT ANY OF THAT?! Jeez, is it so wrong to use the word "pet" to describe them? I mean if you want to flip on someone for having a pet, flip on someone who doesn't take care of the animal.
But anyway, I could never be a vegetarian even though I have nothing against them. Some animals are just too darn tasty. I actually have vegetarian friends and we respect each other enough not to try to force one another to eat the same way. I've never asked them to eat meat, they've never pushed me to try being a vegetarian. And I'd NEVER throw meat in their faces or anything.

I don't have issues with eating meat as long as you can prove it was treated right before it was killed (free range chickens etc) and I think that as long as it had a good life then its ok, you not buying it in a shop isn't gonna change the fact that its dead and if you don't eat it then its a shameful waste of a life.
It's totally natural to eat meat, and its healthy. There have been super vegetarians who have forced vegetarian diets onto their meat eating pets (dogs, snakes etc) and made them seriously ill through this. We and other animals need to eat meat to stay healthy, there are "alternatives" but none of these are healthy to be used as complete meat substitutes.
PETA are completely wrong and I honestly don't see any motive behind them other than trying to make our lives miserable. So far I'm lucky enough not to have met anyone seriously involved with them, one of my friends was a member at some point but gave up on it because their targets and demands are impossible.
On the issue of PETA, I was browsing a small child's (5-10ish) dress up web site with my small cousin and they had a PETA game, promoting their ways and forcing them on children of this age who are so impressionable. They shouldn't be allowed to do that.

PETA makes up half the shit they say anyway. Especially about KFC, those people were paid. It's funny how they only talk about chickens, cows, kittens and puppies. Oh and sea kittens. They don't seem to care about rattlesnakes, where thousands are abused every year at rattlesnake roundups, which is much more horrible than fishing. They only care about the animals who can bring them support and money.
I don't really like meat, but if animals were actually being stomped to death personally I WOULD care, cause there is no reason for them to be killed like that. Not that I'll ever tell anyone to stop eating meat, because I'd be a hypocrite. I just think the way our animals are slaughtered could be a little more humane at times.
...How the hell can you force a snake to be a vegetarian?
Fortunately, the only real vegetarian I've ever met is my aunt, and the only reason she doesn't eat meat is because of her health. I'm not saying I don't want to meet vegetarians, I'm just lucky I never met a PETA educated one. In fourth grade a friend of mine was 'sometimes' vegetarian. As in she'd randomly decide to eat meat one day, and the next, she'd be yelling at people for eating a chicken sandwich. :/...
Seriously, you can find annoying people both among omnivores and among vegetarians. Well, actually, I've only met one of those crazy vegetarians in real life (as opposed to internet forums), while I know TONS of meat eaters who think they're so original and funny when they're cracking childish jokes about vegetarians. Moreover, in my experience, omnivores are those who start abusing you when they find out you don't eat meat (like it was some kind of sin), not the contrary. I guess different people have different experiences, oh well.
Ugh I know what you mean! I have a friend whos like that and it is SO annoying!! She tries to be the best and greatest at school and be eco-friendly even thought she dosent recycle [that much] she thinks all cool and that because of her being vegetarian. HOW DO YOU SURVIVE WITHOUT CHEESEBURGERS?

One time I tried being a vegetarian but it only lasted for 3 days lol.
Has a vegetarian or a vegan ever noticed that when a animal or any other living thing dies it goes back to the earth? o_o and the veggies and all the other stuff you eat are grown on the same earth too? So isnt it kind of being a hypocrite if you keep telling us not to eat meat when then vegetarians are eating dead animals too? I just find it a little weird :D
I've been a vegetarian for nearly a decade because I genuinely do not want to eat meat. The thought of eating something that was once alive disgusts me entirely, to the point where I barely recognize it as food anymore. That being said, I won't deny that I crave it every now and again. It's in my nature to crave protein and iron - so my body will tell me I want it even though my brain disagrees.
It's apparent to me that humans have evolved to a point where they no longer NEED to eat meat in order to survive. For people like me, it's wonderful - we get the choice as to whether or not we want to be vegetarians, while still maintaining our health. Even so, I am fully aware that this lifestyle is demanding, and that not everyone has the power to maintain it - or that everyone should WANT to maintain it.
It's about choice and respect; I chose to be a vegetarian, and I respect that others haven't. I won't push my vegetarianism on anyone, and in turn I hope no one pushes meat consumption onto me. As unpleasant as it is for you to have veggie-preachers telling you eating meat is wrong, it's just as unpleasant from the opposite perspective. It's really upsetting when someone insists that I must be unhealthy and that I should eat a steak - despite the fact that I get regular bloodwork tests from my doctor, who informs me my suppliment-free vegetarian diet is perfectly healthy and well blanced.
The belief that vegetarianism is unhealthy is only right to a certain degree. It's unhealthy when you simply cut out one chunk of your diet, instead of replacing it with alternatives. Do enough research, cook your own food, and put in the effort it takes, and you can be healthy. I mentioned earlier that it's a demanding lifestyle - anyone who thinks vegetarianism is easy is a fool, and likely won't last long before the health issues start creeping in.
Anyways, I've rambled on long enough. That's my two cents.
I just wish people stopped getting all worked up about it - we're not hurting anyone, on the contrary, we are trying hard to NOT hurt other living beings, so why all the hate...? I honestly don't understand. The majority of us is not trying to convert anyone. I only speak about my veganism if someone asks about it and is truly interested, or when I get attacked for it (and that happens A LOT). Obviously I'd be overjoyed if everyone stopped eating other animals, but I don't see it happening anytime soon, so I'm not going to shove my beliefs down anyone's throat. I think it's ridiculous that it's perfectly acceptable for meat-eaters to make fun of vegetarians and shove pork ribs in their faces, but when the opposite happens then it's "OMFG DAMN TERRORIST PSYCHO PUSSIES".
it's all in good humour, my friend. :P
Lol. I've been a vegetarian 17 years - my whole life basically. ;P
B12 deficiency? Hardly likely. Perhaps do some actual scientific research before you spew that kind of crap - I've heard it all before. A tiny bit of Marmite (or yeast extract) contains 60% of my recommended B12. That isn't even factoring in cereal (a serving of which contains about 80%) OR milk/cheese which everyone with half a brain cell knows contains vitamin B12. (that's right, I'm vegetarian not vegan, but as said vegans can easily get their B12 from other sources).
