idk if pirates of the caribbean on stranger tides was popular but god damn i hated that movie so much

SPOILER (click to toggle) ughhh the more i think about it the more i get mad i wanted to see it really bad because i love the movies but after i saw it im just like what the fuck

most of the actors didnt even come back for this one because they knew it’d be shit. like will, elizabeth, pintel ragetti THE FUCKING MEAT OF THE MOVIE all their characters are gone the movie made no fucking sense and had nothing to do with the previous three movies nonstop distracting action scenes uncomfortable sexual tension between jack and angelica. i could just about deal with the mild sexual tension between elizabeth and jack and elizabeth and will in the first movie but this movie is so over the top holy shit. every time they started to feel on each other i was literally twitching in discomfort plotholes that are either unexplained or covered up by a character telling a story about an even that previously happened

this is going to sound selfish but this is not how i interpret jack to be at all.. in love??? feelings?? the hell? i think he lusts more and has love for the ocean and the black pearl not a woman… it was very anticlimatic imo i still dont know who that priest was, where he came from, or why he was suddenly a main character IT WAS WAY TOO FUCKING FANTASY HOLY HOO OHOO and confusing as shit

i feel like the movies are progressing from somewhat believable to just fantasy… in the first movie okay, there is a curse on treasure and they stole the treasure now they are cursed. okay i believe that. now we got the second movie, which explores will’s dad’s character, which was mentioned in the first movie, and their relationship, and also davy jones, and the kraken, both legends. okay its getting weird but i still believe this. the third film, used to be my least fave. jack is dead in davy jones locker and they need to get him back because they actually need him for something. they get him and theres a massive battle and theres like a giant whirlpool i think? (its been a while) anyway. will and elizabeth end up in davy jones locker im pretty sure?? and thats where it ends

THIS MOVIE THOUGH. okay gibbs is in court?? they think he’s sparrow?? no wait jack is the judge for some reason, the hell is going on. ok barbossa lost a fucking leg what the fuck is going on here. okay big escape scene, very actiony early on- interrupted by a very unnecessary sexual scene between jack and some lady in a carriage? (he appears to be kissing her neck but then steals her earring??) continue the action. THEN HIS DAD COMES OUT OF FUCKING NO WHERE and they have a chat. THEN HIS DAD DISAPPEARS. then there are two jacks ??? then one is a woman. then it gets sexual! MORE POINTLESS ACTION! then gibbs burns a map he stole from jack. then gibbs goes with the english people. THEY’VE GOT TO STOP THE SPANISH OH SHIT. fucking blackbeard all of a sudden! VOODOO! HE CAN CONTROL THE FUCKING SHIP WITH HIS SWORD. magic. holy hell mermaids. random priest oh shit. now the mermaid has human legs. now theres uncomfortableness because the priest is in love with the mermaid. now jack is with barbossa and they get in bed with a dead guy. now they’re at a spanish camp??? and they steal CUPS. THEY GET CAUGHT AH ACTION. now they’re caught and barbossa is like by the way i lost my leg because blackbeard and then jack escapes and WHO THE FUCK IS THIS SPANISH GUY RELEASING BARBOSSA? and then they go back to blackbeard and theres a pig???? okay? then they find the fountain of youth holy hell showdown no wait the spanish are here and they start trashing the place and also the priest is hurt somehow and then the spanish leave and barbossa stabs blackbeard with a poison sword that he got from poisonous frogs WHICH HE APPARENTLY COLLECTS…? and then angelica gets cut on the sword somehow and now they BOTH DYING WHAT DO . then the mermaid drags the priest underwater and then you dont see them again what the hell happened. then jack does what he does and plays a trick which kills blackbeard and saves angelica. BUT THEN HE STRANDS HER ON AN ISLAND but they love each other BUT HE LEAVES and then he and gibbs try to figure out how to get the pearl WHICH IS SOMEHOW A SHIP IN A BOTTLE NOW and they come up with a crazy plan and the movie fucking ends, followed by a scene of angelica finding a voodoo doll of jack.

what the poop did that have to do with anything
why the fuck are they making a pirates 5
why did the director of the first three leave some other guy to make a mockery of the films
why the fuck are they making a pirates 5
WHY THE FUCK ARE THEY MAKING A FIFTH MOVIE GUYS

and this is why i really dont like pirates 4 and think they should have stopped after the 3rd BUT SERIOUSLY WHAT COULD THEY EVEN MAKE A 5TH ABOUT

why dont you just making an animated tv series and murder the franchise that way instead of making bad movies

and yes i do feel strongly about this movie ugh

wow ok i have to chime in because im someone who always love movies

hunger games - i honestly did not like this movie??? i read the books like a few days prior and while they weren't my fave they were better because in the movie there was no background or explanation or plot it felt like to me??? idk napolean dynamite - watched this in class once and i for the love of god cannot understand why everyone likes this movie??? none of the humour appealed to me and the man character was just so LAME and BORING. UGH. the last airbender - everyone knows that was the worst tv-to-movie adaptation ever nuff said rise of the guardians - ok i haven't even seen this but i don't want to because i dont see the appeal? tbh im baffled at how tumblr goes apeshit about it the matrix - watched it in class and again. so boring. maybe im dumb but half the time i didn't even get it? i cant. iron man 3 - i loved the first two movies. i hate when directors change, unless the previous director wasnt good. i can understand his anxiety and such but it wasnt...like the antagonist wasnt that great and everything jennifers body - watched this at a mates and i have to say i laughed so much. its so bad its almost good. also the ending made no fucking sense. dont mess with the zohan - i cant even say anything on this. just toilet humour and dick jokes everywhere. harry potter - ok ive never read the books (dont kill me) but i know what there is to know. i like the idea of the story and how everything ties together in the smallest ways, but the movies were just so boring. the cinematography was so dark and slow paced and i couldn't stand it.

All the Lord of the Rings movies and The Dark Knight.

I can't stand any of them. Too long and too boring, imho. I love fantasy movies, and I love Batman, but these just didn't do anything for me at all.

Haha! Looks like I'm the only one here who liked Avatar. ^_^;

the lord of the rings movies, the batman movies, the princess bride, all bore me to death. i can't stand all the awful comedies everyone seems to love like bridesmaids and the hangover movies. theyre so cheap. and ill never understand why everyone is so in love with tangled, the first 15 or so minutes were great, but the rest was just painful to sit through. its one of disney's worst movies.

My taste in films has always been what some consider strange and scattered.

To be honest, I hated most of the Disney movies. Cinderella, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Snow White, etc. I also despise Mulan 2 (though I love the first one). Honestly, the only Disney movies I ever enjoyed in my childhood were Mulan and Hercules.

I loathe Snow White & the Hunstman, Oz the Great and Powerful, The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, The Sorcerer's Apprentice (the only reason I payed money to see that movie was because of Alice Krige), and good heavens, don't even get me started on the second Ghost Rider. I didn't even like the first one. (Mom dragged me to see both of them.)

But on the other hand, I actually love a lot of movies that most people hate. Silent Hill would be the prime example; it's my favorite movie. There are three possible explanations as to why everyone hates it. 1) It was too disturbing, 2) It wasn't scary enough, or 3) Those who watched it also played the video games. (The strange thing is that I actually played the games as well, and I still enjoyed the movie.)

Then again, I might be of a biased opinion because, once again, Alice Krige.

So, like I said, my perspective of movies is considered to be weird by the vast majority of the public.

Gravity. The universal acclaim is unfathomable to me. Boring drivel. I wanted it to eeeeeend. Just because a movie is stunning visually doesn't automatically make it a good movie. It just makes someone seem like all they care about is eye candy. Nevermind the plot, characters, or dialogue. Forget wit, logic, and development. Let's just throw in some graphics to appease the crowds. They're distracted by shiny cinematography. Well, guess what? Even that wasn't amazing for the kind of budget that movie had. yawn

BRIDESMAIDS. i recently found out how much i hate this movie. for a chick flick, there is way too much shitting and vomiting. insidious is one of of my favorite horror/supernatural movies, and the mother in the movie is the "bad girl" in bridesmaids. she's too hard to tolerate .i may be a little biased because the main character looks like a girl i'm enemies with (but about 10 years older.) so i liked the main character in misery. as far as chick flicks go, the girl gets the guy and things work out. (so it was inevitable i'd hate her happy ending.) i'm also not a melissa mccarthy fan. the day i watched this movie i also watched the heat, and this is 40- so i had an accidental melissa mccarthy-thon. anyway, i am the only person i know who severely hates this movie. everyone i was watching it with was laughing their asses off. and i'm just sitting there. "you don't like this movie... do you..." me: "no...it's...okay. i'm fine....." it's hard for people to watch movies with me because i'm very picky with movies. i rarely HATE movies. it's mostly just a "meh" reaction, but this one was more than i could handle.

- oh thank god. and here i was, thinking there was just something wrong with me. that one part where they were one-upping one another with their rehearsal dinner speeches, that went on way too long and it was sooo awkward. like seriously, why are you fighting for her love? is this what people fight about or really do? -_- it all seemed like an awkward, hour and a half story of bullshit.

If there's a movie that just sounds like crap to me, I try to avoid it. These are ones that I should have listened to my gut telling me, "NO!"

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who can't stand the Harry Potter series. I liked the first two movies and couldn't wait for the Prisoner of Azkaban, which was my favorite of the series. Total let down. I don't even remember who was the director but I always thought for some reason it was Tim Burton. It just had all the crap his movies have that I hate in it it seemed. I tried to watch the Goblet of Fire and gave up after five minutes. My Harry Potter love died completely from a combo of the third movie and the Half Blood Prince book. Any remaining like was completely killed off by the remaining movies. I never really finished reading the books.

Brave could have been so much more. The only good thing about the movie was, omg it looked so realistic in parts in HD on our big screen. Otherwise, I can't even tell you exactly how everything was solved. I was too busy watching the background scenery, both times I watched it.

I only remember this one being very popular on here: I finally got around to watching only because it was free on demand, Repo the Genetic Opera... Yeah, that was like a train wreck that I couldn't stop watching. There was some potential, I could see it but a lot of it just felt forced and flat. I may have sprained something as well in my suspending of disbelief. I'm all for weird but this felt to me like it goes hand in hand with the crap from Hot Topic. (Now for some reason I want to rewatch Hedwig and the Angry Inch)

I'm going to sound like such a snob, but I really don't care nor will I pretend I like these movies.

SPOILER WARNING FOR FROZEN Frozen seems to be well received, but I hated it. To me, it was an unsuccessful attempt to bring Broadway to Disney. Most songs weren't great and the singing usually came out of nowhere. I personally hate sung dialogue though. I also couldn't see past Elsa's voice actor singing. It just didn't feel like ELSA, the character, was singing. Perhaps it was because Idina's voice isn't traditionally the type of voice Disney would use.

Don't even get me started on Olaf's character design.

They didn't even touch on HOW Elsa got her powers, did they? Both parents were normal and she was for some reason special in a land that had supposedly never seen magic? Wtf? Why couldn't she learn how to control her powers while spendings YEARS in isolation? They could've stressed this more by showing more of what Elsa was doing behind those doors. Sitting in front of it all those years/gazing out the window/sulking? Nah. Not convinced. If I had a sibling holing themselves up in a room for years I think I would know to get them some help or I'd get fed up with the lack of communication. That's another thing. How did Anna never lose her temper with Elsa? Their parents fucking died and Elsa still wasn't there for Anna?

I feel like people are going bananas over this movie because of the glorious animation/set design/character design and ignoring the very obvious storyline errors. Disney can and should do better work than this.

I would have loved for Anna to regain her childhood memories. I think this could have woven together a very touching scene between her and Elsa. Sure, her getting frozen for what...all of 7 seconds... was ok, but not heart wrenching by any means.

I didn't totally hate it though. I loved how Kristoff asked Anna for a kiss instead of just doing it. The entire palette of the movie was gorgeous as well as the wardrobe for Elsa and Anna. A lot of research went into getting the designs correct and I appreciate all of those small details. The story though...that poor baby got the short end of the stick :C

Despicable Me. GOOD GOD. I cannot stand those minions and I don't understand why everyone likes them so much.

That's all I can think of right now.
