Bridesmaids, The Avengers, The Hunger Games, Avatar. These are all of the recent ones I can think off the top of my head. I don't understand the hype at all. Bridesmaids was awkward and unfunny, The Avengers was a typical boring blockbuster, The Hunger Games was a PG-13 Battle Royale (where's the gore?!) and Avatar was a Pocahontas rip-off.
Dragonball: Evolution, never saw it, trailer looked like just....the worst trailer in the world:P Would have not saw it anyways.
-the hobbit: so awkward - why the slapstick humour? like they tried to tone down the entire franchise to some sort of children's tolkien bastardization
-that last batman movie: i can't remember jack shit from it, so i gather it wasn't very memorable. a shame, because i actually like batman :(
-avengers/captain america/thor/etc: Never cared for them, found the norse gods/aliens weird since i'm norwegian and have a very different idea about them??? also the whole captain america is just...WEIRD. and creepily nationalistic.
-transformers: actually, just, any pathetic boyhood fantasies transplanted to the big screen. NO THANKS.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Any Tim Burton movie released after 1999. The Harry Potter series. Any of the American Pie movies. Moulin Rouge.
That's all that's coming to mind at the moment, but I'm sure there's more.
I'd rather die than ever watch Fight Club again. Ditto for Inception. Both were terrible, awful, horrible movies. I have never been so bored in my LIFE.
The other day I finally got around to seeing the horror movie Suspiria. All I kept hearing about this film is that it's one of the best horror movies of all time, that being said I had high expectations and was very disappointed. I LOVED the set designs, the colors, the music (that opening number my gosh) all that jazz, but story wise wasn't that great. I was only really scared once during the razor wire scene, but from there nothing. For me it was a 2/5 :*: type of thing.
I usually don't hate movies, I either like it or it's 'eh' but I really hate Cars. I wrote a ten essay once on Disney/Pixar movies, and five of those pages explained my hatred of Cars. Also i'm not fond of Brave, either. I don't have it, but I don't think it's as good as people make it out to be.
the dark knight rises, the blind side, drive, the virgin suicides, a walk to remember, big fish, despicable me (if i ever hear anyone else say it's so fluffy ever again in a "little girl voice", i shall harm them.. with something), a clockwork orange, dr horrible's sing along or w/e, shaun of the dead, ted, despicable me, edward scissorhands, etc. and i dislike most movies with will ferrell in them. i hated cars (it's amusing you did a paper on it, ) so much. brave and tangled were disappointing, also, though not quite as bad. i hope that's not where pixar is heading.
i found these films all terrible, lacking or boring. yeah.
This is probably the most unpopular opinion in the entire world, but I cannot stand any of the Harry Potter movies.
The Dark Knight--The movie seemed to drag on for hours, and right after Batman saved the day and it looked like a happy ending...wait, there's more! I kept thinking "Please just end already!"
Spider-Man 3--Same deal as The Dark Knight. Plus Peter Parker's emo period was unpleasant to sit through.
Twilight--Too many eye-rolling and face-palming scenes, plus the acting was awful. Didn't bother with the rest.
Mostly agree with you. I thought the first two movies were the best, but then it went downhill from there. Especially disliked Half-Blood Prince, since it just seemed like a bunch of scenes stuck together and there was no smooth transition.

Despicable Me. It's just so boring. I do not understand why people found it so appealing.
I haven't seen Avatar. Still refuse to. Everyone I know that raves about says that graphically it's amazing, but when questioned further pretty much has nothing else going for it. Yes I'm being judgmental about a movie that I haven't seen. Still won't see it ;)
I won't say that I hated it per say, but I thought that Inception was a little predictable and didn't live up to the hype.
I also fell asleep the first (and only) time I tried to watch The Matrix..
Man of Steel. (I don't actually know if it's "popular" but I definitely think it is the worst movie I watched this year)

There are a lot of popular movies that I don't care for. But I guess I just have more stories with The Nightmare Before Christmas. When I was still in high school, which was a long time ago, a relative gave me this Nightmare before Christmas wallet (only because she couldn't tell the difference between a real skull and Jack Skellington's head LOL). Out of respect of that relative, I started to use the wallet. And you have no idea how many compliments I got while handing out money. Almost in every store I went to, there was a cashier telling me how Nightmare Before Christmas was the best film ever. It just annoyed the hell out of me!
No offense to those who loved the movie, but it just bores me to no end -_-.

Most comedies hit a sour note with me, especially those that consistently uses awkward situations to add "comedy"... And "bathroom" humor... Just ugh. No. I also don't generally like horror/suspense movies. Oh, and movies with happy/hopeful stories that have sad endings... Hate that! I try to make a point of avoiding the kinds of movies listed above or, if I made the mistake of watching one, I'll actively try to forget it.
Now on to a few specific movies: The Toy Story series fell flat with me... I just couldn't connect with the characters. A.I. Artificial Intelligence... One of the few movies that has actually managed to make me cry. Back to the Future... I think it was humor used that threw me off... Ghostbusters... Again with the humor. Being John Malkovich... The humor, the plot, one of the few movies I actually watched all the way through hoping I'd eventually get into it. But it didn't. The Terminator and every other Arnold Schwarzenegger movie that I've seen except the Last Stand... (And it's weird that I like Last Stand.) I just... feel a disconnect. It's like he is constantly breaking that the "third wall" because he is overacting the scene. And I find myself torn when it comes to Hunger Games... I'm drawn to the characters but hate all the killing.
Also, I've never watched any Harry Potter movies, nor do I intend to... I've attempted to read the stories and just didn't find them that interesting. I don't think I'd hate them, I'd just be bored. Finally, I am actively avoiding the Spider-Man movies featuring Tobey Maguire because Spider-Man is a hard character for me to like and Tobey Maguire is not an actor I'm particularly fond of... (On the other hand, I loved The Amazing Spider-Man... Something about the character, whether it was due to production team or the actor, was different and more appealing.)
I've had several people say they were disappointed with Man of Steel and some went so far as to say they hated it... I'll admit I was disappointed as I left the theater, because the movie moved from scene to scene at an incredible pace (especially towards the end) and didn't give me time to connect with the characters. However, since then, I've had to absorb the story and review the scenes in my head. I've added my own interpretation to it and now I like it, not for what it is as much as what my mind has made it. Which is pretty common for me anyway... Most of my favorite movies are my favorites because I've put my own mental spin on them. LOL
Christopher Nolan's Batman movies - preachy, self-important garbage.

Wall-E, the latest Batman movie(dragged on for AGES), and it would be faster to say which Disney princess movies I DID like.
Goddamn Gatsby. I saw it with a bunch of friends who all read the book in high school and the entire time I was annoyed by the story and the ongoing book club happening next to me.
I get the story but everyone just annoyed me besides that conductor/pianist guy in the party scenes. He was awesome.

I'm not much of a hater, although I was very disappointed with Spirited Away. A lot of my friends really liked it so I suppose I was expecting more. I just found the characters very unappealing and the storytelling side boring. I did actually like the concept of the storyline itself, I just didn't like the way it had been put together.
I was also disappointed with The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers. I loved the first movie, and enjoyed the third, but found it very difficult to concentrate during the second one for some reason. Although I think I actually blame the storyline rather than anything in particular that any of the film crew did. Quality wise it was just as spectacular as the other two movies, but in terms of the events it did not hold my attention as much as I'd hoped.
