I never really got Napoleon Dynamite either. There are a few lines that I found funny (his class presentation about the loch ness monster always makes me laugh), but the rest of it was like... so strange.
To be fair, I don't like a lot of popular movies. LOTR, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, stuff like that. None of them interest me too much. The other one is POTC. I think Jack Sparrow was a great character, but everything else in the movies never appealed to me.
i don't understand why everyone seems to love 'the princess bride', either. it was so... pointless.
Agreed about Where The Wild Things are. As a fan of the childhood book the movie made no damn sense at all. As for Napoleon Dynamite I watched this movie probably three times before I understood the humor in it. Its not for everyone, but I liked it.
There was a point to The Hangover. It was a comedy. You laugh lol and that I did.
Lord of the Rings series is probably the most boring movies I have ever seen. Lets continue to walk why dont we....and maybe have a little action every now and then. OMG so many hours of my life I want back. Just no.
Any of the "Toy Story" movies. Ever since I was young, I've been bored to death from those films. Then I went to see number three in theaters with my friends and fell asleep. I was punished for weeks. I can see the appeal and the story line is good for a kids movie but my God, I hate them.
There's a few that were popular, that I didn't care for at all, and the fact that they're so popular, makes me dislike them even more, because I don't see what the big deal is.
The top three that come to my mind are: Finding Nemo Cars The Princess Bride.
I just found them all so boring, cheesy, and trying too hard to be clever, but just ended up being dumb.

I didn't really like The Princess and the Frog. /: And The Hunger Games was okay, and I didn't think that The Avengers deserved all of the obsessive hype. I mean it was cool because whoa awesome computer graphics and all of these superheroes thrown together and sure it was a good movie, but it wasn't amazing
ted cabin fever elizabeth town resident evil afterlife silent hill revelation wedding crashers eternal sunshines of the spotless mind twilight pet semetary the descent but i really hate most action, drama, thriller, slice of life, dry humor, and badly made horror movies i have a lot of hate in my heart
Napolean Dynamite (talk about boring), The Exorcist (it's unnecessarily gross) and Wanted (worst plot ever)
❤️
the dark knight (i think??) i tried watching it because everyone kept going on about how amazing heath ledger was in it (i'm sure he was) but i just couldn't get through it? i tried twice but i just found it incredibly boring.
I'm totally in agreement with you on The Dark Knight (for me it's the whole trilogy). I'm not a fan of the GRITTY REBOOT phenomenon of the last couple years and this is the biggest offender in my eyes. I'll take Adam West over Christian Bale any day, thnx.
Other movies I didn't particularly like include Avatar, Inception (fell asleep during both of them. Also, I just realized maybe I should just stop trying with Christopher Nolan movies), WALL-E (I didn't have the attention span to get past the first scene!), Skyfall, The Matrix trilogy, The Hobbit (though I really liked the LOTR movies), and probably some other stuff I can't remember.
Transformers. I'm sorry, I came here to see alien robots beat the shit out of each other, not watch Shia what-his-face acting like an embarrassing wad all over the screen while Michael Bay beats himself off to the American military.
ngl when i got the ping i thought it would be someone accusing me of blasphemy the only other batman film i've seen and liked is the one in which danny devito plays a penguin?? honestly that's all i remember i just don't see the appeal it's pretty boring
Brave. It might not be fair, I'm sure it was actually a decent movie. But I went in expecting an adventure/action movie and got excited because it was starring a female and seemed clear to not have romance in it. And then instead it was some shit about family issues so I walked out very disappointed.
Haha, sorry for causing you that brief moment of panic ;D
Yeah, I much prefer the Tim Burton ones as well, but Batman's fairly low down on the list of superheroes I care about anyway.
Avatar, Titanic, Zombieland... Hated all three with a passion and was told by so many people that I just HAD to see them because they're so AWESOME. Ugh. I found The Avengers very lack-luster too. The story seemed forced and not very well developed to me... action just for the sake of action. Same with Transformers.
The Iron Man movies. I was forced through the first one and got taken to the second one on a date. They're such dude movies with little plot and just lots of fancy explosions and ooh neato suit
I hated them. Also agreed with Avatar. It's Pocahontas with Blue Aliens and nothing more.
And Nolan's Batman trilogy. Haaaate. JUST WHAT WE NEEDED ANOTHER REHASHING OF BATMAN'S STORY. And Christian Bale is not Bruce Wayne. At all. He looks nothing like Bruce Wayne should look. Not to mention all the white washing that went on in that movie. Lame lame LAME.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, I liked the Green Lantern movie that everyone hated XD
I actually don't really watch a lot of movies, so I dislike the idea of watching the vast majority of them. Except for animated stuff. I was incredibly disappointed with Happy Feet, and Miazaki's Laputa: Castle in the Sky. Couldn't even finish the latter, and I ALWAYS commit to finishing a movie when I start it.
Also, I think Monty Python and the Holy Grail is overrated. It's not HORRIBLE, it's just reallllly not as funny as people make it out to be.
I saw that movie. My response to that was "meh". It was okay, but like you said, it dragged.
Regarding Henry, With Honors, Paradise, Ghost...I never want to see any of those movies again. I don't even get what was so popular about Ghost. All of them dragged so much.
More modern times, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I went to see that one because the trailer looked good. I went in to see it,and I wished I hadn't. All the movie gave me were a few laughs, mostly from Jetfire and SImmons, but the story (if you could even call it that) was ridiculous.
I did like Avengers and Hunger Games enough, but then, I didn't go in with any expectations of them. Had never read the book for one, and only saw the 1st Iron Man movie. Won't deny I liked the Hulk beating on Loki, though.
I almost forgot about that one. Yeah, I was royally bored myself.
Never too late to win the day
