Hey! It' me again, Sam. The Captain is still missing and I'm getting really worried. A few of the guys in the Squadron are acting really weird too, shady even. They're new recruits. Like even newer then me. Vice Captain Evelyn told me to watch what I said to anyone so I don't think she trusts that group either... And then a bunch of people have been spotting weird shadows moving around against the clouds... big shadows. Maybe this has something to do with the weird tracks in the snow? I've already been back to investigate the ambush scene but the fresh snow from the blizzard covered everything up... well except for a scale. Which kind of confirms my suspicion about the shadow in the sky and the ashes... It doesn't look good. I mean clearly the scale probably was left there after the storm... which means the thing is probably hunting still for Captain Evergrove. So he has to be out there, just hiding. I also found something else.. half buried in the snow. It's a Ji-Meneb dictionary. On the inside of the cover there was a hand written note. Most of it was blurred from getting wet but I managed to make out the words 'don't worry' and then 'agents of' a little later on. I think this is a message from Horace! He's originally from Meneb himself and it's really hard to tell but I think this is handwriting too. I'm going to send the book and the scale to you for safe keeping, I don't really wanna get caught with them myself, just in case. I'm going to try and eavesdrop on a few of those suspicious guys tonight, so I'll make sure to keep you updated and let you know i I find anything out. Sam Rose The United Unicorn Defense Squadron. It does really sound like there are dragons out there. Or fire-breathing unicorns. But mostly it sounds like dragons. Be safe Sam and may you find the captain soon.

Well they are bad guys but not the sort that's going to betray the Squadron and align themselves with the anti-unicorn group. They're more of the sort who were plotting the best way to spy on the Vice Captain when she is lacking uniform for lack of better words.

Since those troublemakers have been dealt with I'm trying to get back on the trail of of the enemy. I'm confident that Captain Evergrove is okay! He wouldn't want me dallying for too long. When I joined the Squadron I took an oath to protect unicorns, and that's what I intend to do.

Vice Captain Evelyn and I have been going over Captain Evergrove's notes to figure out what step we should take next. It's hard though because most of it is in the Ji-meneb language. I had to go and buy a new textbook right after I sent you the one I found! Plus his handwriting is pretty bad. That's probably why he types most of his letters. Don't tell him I think that though!

It seems like the conclusion he came to was that our enemies are a part of a cult that worships an ancient and evil dragon. She was sealed away with a unicorn's magic a long time ago under the ice up here. I haven't been able to translate everything in his notes yet so I'm not sure what she did or was going to do that was so bad... but I think we know why the unicorns are being targeted. That dragon is awake now and she probably doesn't want to be sealed back up again.

We need to find that dragon! If we find her I'm positive we'll find the Captain too. The Vice Captain is rigging up a locator spell and wants it to be as wide spread as possible since the dragon could be anywhere by now! I'm sending you a crystal she enchanted. Put it someplace high! Once everyone has theirs in place I don't think that dragon will be able to hide anywhere in Subeta!

I just wanted to say that even though I haven't been posting, I've been enjoying this so much! Thank you to whoever our mysterious anon is!

Knowing that the anti-unicorn fellows are... cultists scares me; who knows if their dragon overlord has command over some odd arcane magic? I hope you'll be able to translate the Captain's notes, though -- now, I am more certain that he is well and alive, and that we will be able to assist him in defeating this dragon, to protect the unicorns.
