Thank u so much. Im sorry ur dealing with a loss as well. We have had a lot of loss lately. My father-in-law passed last year in Feb then we had 2 dogs pass last year, and then my mom this past Feb. Its been a lot on us all. My hubby was very close to his dad and he took it very hard and still is. And I was very close to my mom and obviously not doing well still. Plus im a big dog lover so loosing the 2 dogs was very hard on me to. Not to mention we lost my Gram in 2013 which I was extremely close to, even though its been 12 yrs its still hard around the holidays. Then my Brother-in-law passed in 2018, my mother-in-law passed in 2019, and then my nephew in 2020. So the past few yrs have been rough. There isnt anyone left in our families. My immediate family (hubby and my 3 kids) who all live here are all thats really left. My hubby has a brother but he lives in Colorado with his wife and kids and their kids. We havent seen them sine they moved there, I dunno 13yrs or more ago. I dont have any siblings, and the only uncle I have left lives in NJ and I dont speak to them, esp after my moms funeral cause he and his daughter acted like jerks (id rather say a different word) to me at my own moms funeral!!! Anyways long story there.... But basically I have 1 uncle, his wife, and 2 cousins, and my other 2 cousins. Thats it for my family and I only speak to a few of them on FB, but thats it. My hubby has uncles and aunts and cousins but again we barely talk to them either and they live here in PA not to far away. So really its just my household as my family these days. Until my kids start having kids thats it for family. lol Anyways......... I appreciate u offering to talk. ya never know I might take u up on it sometime. Its easier to talk to someone outside ur family sometimes :) Sending love and hugs ur way and I hope u and ur family have a great holiday and I hope it gets easier for u all to. hugs

Yep, I still have 3 dogs. Shelby (mini-pin/ pug mix) was my mom and gram's dog that I helped them get. She is 13 or 14 yrs old now, so she is getting up there. We keep her upstairs mostly because my other 2 dogs r still puppy hyper and they r big dogs and they tromp all over her lol So she lives upstairs mostly. I wish they could be together but I fear my 1 dog ha a prey drive and since she is so small I worry about her well being. My mom would truely haunt me if I let anything happen to her dog lol And my other 2 dogs are Diesel (Yellow Lab) and Daisy (German Shorthaired Pointer) they r both 4 yrs old and full of puppy hyper energy. If I can figure out how to put a picture on here (or if u or anyone knows how to, plz let me know) I will post a picture of the 3 dogs. But thats all the animals I have right now. Use to have small critters but kids didnt take care of them like they should, so once they passed I said no more critters. The dogs r enough. If they want anything else they can get them once they move out LoL My son and I are allergic to cats so we never had any of them. Also imm allergic to the fur of Guinea Pigs we learned that the hard way when we had one, or im allergic to the alfalfa that we fed her or both. But either way.... I do miss the hamsters we had not long ago, they were fun cause we could play with them. I swear we have had so many different things. We also did baby chicks one yr for Easter. We got 5 but them my hubby went crazy and got 13 more! So we had 18 chicks and eventually found them farms to goto because we live in the boro and cant have farm animals. At least my hubby knew a few farmers who were happy to take them and im sure they were much happier on the farm then in my house or small yard lol Also have had parakeets, frogs, lots of fish (had 2 55 gallon tanks) I think thats all we have ever had lol That was enough. But yeah we still have the 3 dogs and I love them dearly.... But I miss my pups that passed :( (Chewy the border collie, Reeses the Jack Russell/Dashound mix, and Mama the Shitzu)

I am so sorry for all your losses in your family and out side of it. You are a very strong person and I feel that you can get threw all that loss a make something better out of it. Bring understanding and inner faith to yourself. Know that family is not just your blood but family is also those who understand what you are going threw and those that try to help when we can and also those that love and try to bring joy into your life as those here try too . Losing people when your not ready is so hard and i know, I have many loses too and I too have tried to understand and bring joy and some sort of happiness to others, as that is what can help the inner you to be stronger to move on and be the person you are meant to be. Sorry to praddle on but I am just saying I understand and I have been there. Be good to yourself.

In January, we lost our sweet boy Cody and in December of 2021 we lost my soul mate Juneau.

I grew up with all sorts of animal friends - dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, ferrets, and rats - but as an adult we only had rabbits and briefly fostered chinchillas. I still miss my sweet Flemish giant Fable, who was one of the best animals in the world. And our boys Quill, Farley, and Nigel. Right now with eight animals we're a bit over capacity and I don't see us adopting anyone who would need their own room or habitat, because I don't think we could give them the love and attention they would deserve.

We also have a bit of a divided house because Cletus and Tonks are 15 and 12 and then Atka and Emerie are almost 4. So the energy levels are different. Plus, Atka has some aggression issues towards Cletus from time-to-time so we use a lot of separation with a gate to make sure everyone is comfortable and safe. It works for us, but is not ideal.

- How do you make flour-less chocolate torte? It sounds delicious. We had pumpkin pie, which was delicious, but I'm always up for a good chocolate torte. :)

- Your issues are exactly why I don't have an Instagram account. It's also why I don't go to facebook anymjore. I'm tired of the poo. I find I'mj more relaxed and stress-free if I limit my social activity to Subeta. :) You got an advent calendar for the kitties? Oh, what fun! QWhere do you find all these advent calendars? I never seemj to be able to find any except the ones for kids that have chocolate in them. :) I bet your getting excited for MMinnie. I can't wait to hear about your adventures. :D

- Oh, your poor son.Type 1 diabetes is so much worse then type 2. He probably doesn't want to cook or eat because every time he does his blood sugar goes nuts and he has to take insulin. I don't like getting stuck so I can guess that he doesn't like it either. :(

Pet stores and supermarkets sell the pet advent calenders. The small ones hold little snack. The bigger one i got from Germany holds big items and full size items.

My own advent calenders are from webshops i follow for my cards and bullet journal stuff. But loads shops in town also sell advent calenders like beauty, men stuff, jewelry, plushies, tea, coffe, etc.

well i be gone for most of the days from now till sunday. Disney and a christmas market, will pop in for the Luminaire and Melody

- I'm so sorry for your losses. I lost my mom a few years ago and it still hurts just as much now as it did then. I was just going to check out your pets and WOW you have so many!! I look forward to reading their stories.

- Haha yup that sounds like me too lol I'll just make ramen or something easy. He goes on a friends trip every 3 months and I just get tv dinners or easy throw in the air fryer type foods for my suppers lol The kids are picky so they basically eat the same few foods anyways that are easy enough to cook.

- I'm sorry your holiday was difficult. Those first few holidays without my mom were by far the hardest. I wish I could say it gets easier but you mostly learn to distract yourself from the fact they aren't able to be there with you. hugs

- I'm going slow with her for that reason. The circumstances around her passing are so traumatic for me but I finally got the courage up to make the pet but it'll probably be awhile before I start working on her page.

Who else is having a Snow Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to work till 2 today, but it wasn't bad. No one wants to drive in this snow and ice. My last patient came in at 10:48 and then no patients till close, which is nice. But during the last 3 hours, I actually fell asleep for 30 minutes. I have never fallen asleep at work; I must have been exhausted.

I have been on the GLP 1 shots for 1 month and a week now. I don't know if anyone else has taken them, but I have been dealing with some side effects. I have been dealing with a lot of nausea and have been vomiting a few times a week, mainly during the early mornings. I don't like the side effects; however, I have already lost 14 lbs since I started the shot. I am very excited to lose more weight.

For the side effects, I found that if I am lying flat in bed, I get sick, but if I am elevated while sleeping, then I don't get sick. I was also taking metformin during the first month, which might have been causing some issues with the shot as well. I stopped it a few days ago, so I am hoping it will help relieve the side effects.

The metformin I don't think should cause you any issues with this shot, you should speak to your pharmacist or doctor before continuing taking them ...no need to make your self any more sick. May I ask what GLP shot is for, only if I am not snooping too much.
Your losing weight from it, that is great , congrats on the 14 pounds lost so far.

Most people use GLP-1 shots for weight loss. But it is also used for diabetes. It slows your metabolism and makes you feel fuller faster. I talked to my doctor about the metformin, which was for my insulin resistance. I know a couple of my coworkers are on the shot too. One of them was taking the GLP-1 shots for insulin resistance. Which is why I got to thinking the metformin and the shots were giving me too much at once. I discussed it with my doctor, and she said to stop the metformin and see if it helps. It seems to be helping right now. This is only the first week of being off the metformin, and I have not been sick this week so far. I have felt nauseous but have not vomited, which is a good sign to me. But I have also been keeping myself elevated while sleeping, making any acid that wants to come up stay down. I'm not sure which is helping, but as long as I am not sick before work every morning, I call it a win LOL.

I wouldn't know! LOL We got ours at the grocery store. My best friend makes an amazing one as well, even better than the store! I should ask her for her recipe!

I'm on a GLP1 as well! Not having as much success as you so far, hopefully my next month will bring bigger changes! I had some side effects - laying on my right side made me have acid reflux type symptoms. Those only seemed to last 48hrs after injection and have been going away quicker. I hope you get it figured out fully and don't feel sick anymore! Congrats on the success so far with the weight loss!

I honestly think I lost 14 lbs in the first month because I felt so sick that I barely ate anything. Which is not the way to go, believe me. It sucked badly not being able to eat, especially since I have passed out in the past from not eating and having my sugar drop or rise too quickly. I had to force myself to eat something. Glad your symptoms are only 48 hours. Mine were almost every day. I go to work around 4 am, and I was getting sick around 2-3 am. It was so not fun. My doctor said to change the injection spot, too. I was doing it in my right upper arm. I am doing this month in my right thigh to see if that helps with symptoms.
