How many books do you have on the go at once. I have 3. 1 that I read before I eat. 1 in bed and 1 at our house at the beach.

Actually I'm going to finish Deja Dead before I start the others. Also forget about McCourt. I was thinking about Keith McCafferty. His mysteries are set in Montana, where I have a lot of family. I don't know where McCourt came from. Not my type of books at all.

A long time ago I was reading books by D. R. Meredith but she hasn't written anything in years. Her mysteries were set right here in Amarillo and the surrounding areas. I loved recognizing the places she mentioned. Are there any mysteries set in your area?

Picnic at Hanging Rock by .Joan Lindsay... about an hour away from where I live. There are few novels about Bendigo, the town nearest to where I live ,,, but most books set there are related to the gold rush.

I'd think there would be tons of mysteries set in Australia.

I wasn't thinking about Australia in general but specifically close to home.

These come to mind

The Magic Pudding by Norman Lindsey.. a chilldren's book My Brilliant Career by Stella Maria Miles Franklin

Haven't read too many books by Australian authors, tend to stick with the tried and true. Must venture out of my reading safety zone.

I don't know if it was written by an Australian author, but I remember a book called A Walk to the Hills of the Dreamtime. A very good book set in the Outback.
