This is the first time I am trying to really participate in the holidays on Subeta. Usually, I'll do them for a few days and then stop, but I want to continue collecting things. I love the pumpkin carvings. I did the HA zapper yesterday for a new skin, and I can't wait to see what I get today! I really, really want Blacklight, Reborn, and Spectrum skins. Anyway, I'm off to do some laundry and then continue with my quest and TOT.

- I've been slow collecting these first few days because when I'm on it's lag central. Trying to start earlier today to get ahead of the masses haha I'm glad my new job is a set schedule and I'm home by 4. I used to work retail exclusively and my schedules were bouncing around always.

I agree on the lag. It sucks. Yesterday, it took me a while to complete all my quests and stock my shop because it was taking forever to load. I even took breaks in between, and it still didn't help.

Congratulations on the new job! What are you doing now? When I used to work at the first daycare I worked at, they changed my schedule at the last minute when I was literally just about to leave my house. I got so pissed at them for it. It was one of the many reasons I left. I am not a fan of the job I have now, either, with the schedule, but it's manageable, so I stay.

I work as a behavioral interventionist at a school so I'm a 1:1 for a kiddo there. Totally out of what I'm used to but it's not bad. It just stiniks the school I work at is 40 minutes away. I'm super nervous doing the drive this winter as I get bad anxiety driving in the snow :x It;s nice to be doing something different though and feeling like I could make this an actual career. They'll even help with paying for school if I choose to get a degree for it.

That stinks they'd change your schedule at the drop of a hat like that. I'd be pretty upset if that kept happening to me. I could MAYBE iunderstand once or twice but not if it was a regular thing.

It is excellent that you are enjoying your new job! The drive can be nerve-racking, especially in the winter. I have a 20-30 minute drive to my home location. Still, it also has many hills to go up and down, and during the winter, especially if it just snowed, I have to leave an hour early. Instead, I go slow on the roads and open late, then try to drive fast to open and get into an accident. That is one of the reasons I got my new car back in December of last year. The old one was having issues in the snow, so I didn't want to risk it.

It is excellent that they will help pay for schooling! My job does the same, but it has to be for a career with which I can work for the company. If it's for a nurse and something else that the lab does not have, then they will not help, which sucks, cause they are a medical facility, but that is their choice. Are you planning to get a degree for that career, or are you still considering it? I know it is a lot to think about especially if you have kids and other things to have to take can of while also trying to go to school.

Subeta is slow!!! Taking forever to pages to load

- I'm not sure yet if I'll go to school. I'm going to give it about a year to make sure this is what I want to do long term. I may end up switching to a different position for the same company but they have you wait until you're one year anniversary so you can say you gave it an actual shot. I'm still doing computer trainings for it (one training is 40 hours long!) and its A LOT to learn. I'm not sure I have what it takes to even pass college courses lol I do have two kids as well but they're getting older (son just turned 14 and daughter turns 10 in december) so it's not necessarily them that would hold me back,

That is good that they make you wait a year to really get a feel for the position. I usually allow myself 6 months in a position before I decided if i truly want to change. I did that when I was a lab assistant for the company I currently work for. I liked the position but the hours were not for me but I gave it a try for 6 months before switching. A 40 hour training in insane! I hope it is in sections my goodness that is a lot. I'm sure you will do well in college, I though I wouldn't but so far I seem to be passing my courses. You never know till you try. I do wish you all the best in your new job, I hope it goes well for you.

I'm still not sure what I am doing yet. I am getting to the end of the first semester and I have to decide if I want to continue with the track I am on now or if I want to do the prerequisites for the Sonography program. Although I did look into the winter courses and the class I need is not provided during the winter anyway. So do I take a semester off or do I keep taking courses during the winter. All online of course definitely not driving to campus in the snow.

well probally won't just be me as the whole weekend was crap. People (we had people from an employment agency as we had so many open shifts0 not showing up, showing up late, called in sick but at the wrong person/unit. I've send a lot of emails this weekend about this and added my boss in them so she can see how crap it was. Always people from an employment agency give us crap as suff always go wrong when they hire them and it is not the pay as they get payed more then us.

during my day subeta is do-able, in my evening is is so slow!

I finished watching Hostile Dimensions (2023) and I need a sequel because they finally started to talk with the dog!

The movie is a found footage horror where a documentary crew searches for a missing woman. Is more about the atmosphere than outright gore.
