Maleria asked me for a scroll on all three quests - one being 1m, one being I think 200k, and one being 100k. I skipped all three quests based on my current understanding of her prizes. Not sure if this price range for her quests is intended, but wanted to add data!
Also love that the Wiz is giving me multiple books as prizes each time.
for two of my maleria quests she asked for scrolls that were not available in user shops, while the third was available for ~70k. i just went ahead and made them myself—i assume the intention is to add more incentive / integration to the scroll-making mechanic (since right now it's only relevant if you battle and even then once you've made the scrolls you need for battle, you just kind of never touch the feature again).
I thought it was just me no Beta quests are not reset yet I keep checking them
Thank you for buying from my shops

so thank you very much :)

...did the other 2 as well (cheaper scrolls), came out of both with a profit.
Good to know I’m not the only one! Just checked again and still not reset for me.
The new quests don't always reset daily during this testing phase, they're reset manually by Keith.
With Maleria, I've never lost sP on her. I'm wondering if the loot scrolls have a lower rate of being asked for, or if it's equal to the scrolls you can make at the shrine? I personally like that she asks for scrolls we can create since I feel like I never really touch the feature otherwise, and it's also just... I dunno, I guess it feels more 'quest'-like for me to go make something to bring back to her. It's fun to me even if I don't always save that much sP by making them myself! I don't know how I feel about her asking for challenger loot scrolls - I feel like on one hand it's probably a good way to get some of the excess out of user shops, on the other hand it seems... potentially pretty easy for people to take advantage of once the new quest system is in place, as well as more... potentially frustrating? Like, if there aren't any in user shops and you don't happen to have one and it's a yearly opponent, you're pretty much SOL for one of your 3 Maleria quests of the day.

Ooo no please reset it's killing me but I understand thank u for the info

I've just caught up on this also and have tried the quests which was interesting.
I have a few QPs too and am wondering if I should spent them all soon on the items I need like books, food, beanbags and plushies.
There is a lot to take in here

oh day 3 of no kumos quest reset. i hope keith has some time to reset them soon
and last time i did the hustler quest he has asked for some crazy expensive items. for quest items (over 1M - 2M each) and it being the older SBQ items has me a little worried as they just get more inacessible to collect that way.
and there is not really a steady way to get them. sure you can get 1 from major drills if you are lucky but that's it. with the hustler quest there are way more bought that come into the shops. my guess they will all be sold out and unavailable (or at 40M - 100M price range) at one point soon if not changed
Ooh, I got burned really bad by most of the Kumos quests today. Only the Wizard was really profitable at all. I know the Hustler one is supposed to be kind of a gamble but there's no way to have enough experience with it yet to know if a quest will be worthwhile. With the first one I did, he seemed pretty fair so I thought the prize would scale according to his request, but I just gave up a 4mil item from my vault and bought a 900k one to only receive back around 700k. Ouch! Maleria wasn't much kinder with the expensive scroll she basically stole from me but at least the stakes were lower. Sticker quests are consistently just not worth doing.
I'm sure the prizes will be tweaked so this is more just a warning to anyone doing these right now. I feel like I'm paying to test this feature lol, I hope we'll at least get to keep our reputation points but I'm guessing they'll be reset.
As far as feedback goes, it is going to sting extra hard to have to cancel a bad quest when we only get 1-3 per day. :(
The new quests were not worth doing today. I lost sP (800k to the Hustler for example, and 300k to Maleria in just one quest for a scroll that can't be made at the shrine) or made negligible profit (i.e. maybe ~2-5k tops) on nearly all quests today. Even the quests where I bought directly from the NPC shops - thank goodness I didn't spend more than 1-2k per item! 10k per item would've been breaking the bank.
Admittedly some of the quest reward screens didn't load - about 5 of them I think? However I don't think I earned much more from those. Not sure why they didn't load; it just booted me back to the main NPC page (e.g. the Wizard) after I clicked to turn in the items.
The Hustler and Maleria were the worst offenders. I agree with above that only the Wizard was worthwhile today. I think I'll stop bothering with the rest until I see more positive comments. Not meaning to sound ungrateful, just trying to give honest feedback.
I don't see The Hustler quests as sustainable in their current form. Truthfully, I think this goes for nearly all of these quests. The items will continue to be bought up, but the sP/item rewards will be in line with a much lower starting price. The sP rewards just don't cover it. I mostly do quests as a source of sP and I'm not breaking even with these quests.
Maleria asked for a scroll that was too expensive to purchase outright (20mil), so I made it with ingredients. The reward didn't even pay for the ingredients...so that's pretty bad.
Miss Maybel's rewards weren't worth it today.
Rumi's rewards weren't worth it today.
Wizard's rewards were barely worth it only due to the wizard tokens. I ignore the item rewards unless they're worth a lot. They're more trouble than anything, really.

whew, we've seen a TON of quest activity during this testing phase! here's a quick rundown of updates and what's coming this week. expect more changes, backend updates, and probably a few resets!
i'll be disabling these quests! this was a mid-thread experiment to showcase how quickly a concept could be built and tested. the hustler quests were especially interesting because of the retired sbq items you turned in.
next steps:
overall, i'm really pleased with how these quests turned out and the possibilities they open up! 🎉

we’ve all seen how easy it is to manipulate item prices on subeta (buying enough from shops to raise the average). this has been a long-standing issue, so i’ve started developing a new system to improve pricing stability.
here’s what’s happening:
this is why you’ve seen items vary wildly in pricing or unexpected sp rewards from quests recently—it’s all part of the transition to this new system. thanks for your patience as it smooths out!

new quests are rolling out this week! expect familiar faces like alexander, sagg, and cinthia with updates to their mechanics and item targeting.

I was having trouble starting quests over at Kumos, so I logged out as instructed by the text at the top of the page... aaaand now I can't log back into Kumos lol. It didn't kill my login to old Subeta (obviously) but I can't get back into Kumos at all. When I click log in it just reloads the login screen again.
Hunting for: (It's the only beanbag I need for a full collection!)
I'm really sorry -- I think this should be resolved now.
I wrote here about the server issues rolling today :( it should be cleared up, now!

Feedback for today's questing:
Time Remaining is not working. I waited and refreshed several times
still would like to see the number of remaining/done quests on the quest main page so that I don't have to go to the QG only to see I did that already (yes, my memory is that bad)
is the discount card taken into account now?
not sure if I understand the logic of item drops. So many rare items go out, won't that add to devalueing them?
just dropped some updates. here’s the tea:
the discount card isn’t factored in yet. i’ll update when it is—there’ll probably be a page showing main shop stock. it’s halfway there: you can see the amount in stock and let the quest buy it for you, but it’s not fully cooked yet.
about rare items: the site’s wild imbalanced rn with “useful” rare items (like books/clothing) vs. the ones nobody cares about. i’m tweaking things so quests will give out more useful items since they get used up or hold value. quests will also start asking for the useless stuff to get it out of circulation. i’ve been watching prices and it’s fine so far.
for example, maleria just stopped asking for scrolls yesterday because the last batch she was asking for (and offering ridiculous rewards for 😬) got completely wiped out. we can manage that now—if there are less than x of an item for sale or in vaults, quests stop asking for it. scroll stocks got too low, so she quit asking.
this will hopefully, when launched, have been a signal for ppl to start making scrolls and selling them for $$$, i saw a lot of users yesterday buying the components to make the scrolls and walking away with a huge profit. i'd like to encourage more of things like that :)

I like the changes to the main quest page! Being able to see reputation there is nice. Although, hah, the quests I haven't done yet are showing up as 6/3, while the ones I have done are at 3/3.
It's great to hear that quests will stop asking for items with such limited availability, that was my main concern with the challenger loot scrolls. :)
I'm excited to see more quests roll out!

more of a graphic design thing than a quest system thing, but the box with the quest giver's image / name / reputation points has a very bright saturated background color on every dark site theme, which is a bit hard to read / difficult on my eyes.
