Just wondering, are CWs tallied based on their rarity?
Because most CWs will not have a price history, so they'd show up with a "not enough purchase", even though they'll typically be worth more than the average sp gift!
great question! rn it considers both rarity AND price, but if it canโt find a price, it makes an assumption. (unless itโs r1-99 and dropped in the last 2 weeksโthen we assume the price is low bc it hasnโt hit user shops yet.) if the price is totally unknowable, it leaves it blank.
i was gonna try using CSC values to guesstimate, but CSC is inherently โworth moreโ than a CW since you can spend it on anything, so thereโs no clean 1:1 comparison.
today iโm digging through those scores to make sure theyโre aligning w/ expectations.
also, i hear yโall about the events! iโll add an event midway through the day for new joiners and one 2 hrs before the end for ppl who havenโt entered anything yet.
finally, thinking about bringing back โqualityโ since weโve got enough days to make better comparisons now.

Gotcha!
I was asking because i did see a few CWs in the pool before, and wanted to make sure these people weren't hit with a "they put a cheap item in" just because there's no actual sp price comparison - and for the algorithm to think they threw in a faerie or something lol
Thank you for this new MM, personally I love where it's going <3
oh, no that's terrible :( I feel if someone doesn't give any items at all then they shouldn't get any I thought that the others in my group weren't giving anything, but in the end they did, it was after 11pm, so I was wondering what would happen. Thanks for letting me know!

I have just joined a new group for MM and submitted 5 items to the pool, but the counter is showing 0/5 for me. I have the " You've reached the maximum number of items you can contribute. Remove an item to add a different one." notation though 0/5 remains by my name. I have tried to remove all 5 items, do a hard refresh, and to add them back in, but I still remain at this 0/5. The item type markers (where it shows 'wardrobe', 'food', 'book', those markers) on the left are still showing up for the items I have given, representing the items I have added. When I remove them, the markers come off. So the page IS recognizing them in some way, but still somehow not counting them.
Edit: Here is a screenshot of what it is I see: https://imgur.com/a/q0P4AOO It also seems Melody's items are showing with her at 0 as well?
I do not want for my groupmates - or Melody for that matter - to think I am joining but not participating. Are my items still going to go out to the pool at midnight tomorrow, while I receive nothing but a single Melody item in the end? I also worry for my "score".
EDIT: As of right now at 2239 Subeta Time, I am now showing a proper 5/5 - Melody's gift count is also showing properly. So no big of worries, just a strange thing to happen I guess. In case anybody else should have this happen.

I've been doing MM every day since it came into full mode and it's been great. I've had some days where I get stuff back that is drastically lower value than what I put in and that's fine, I don't mind. It's part of the mystery.
However, when i've been in groups where everyone puts in their full items, I've gotten 7 or 8 items in return. Yesterday's reset, though, I only got 5 items out of the exchange. I put in similar items to what I've put in on previous days (mostly items from various event or quest shops, like the higher priced books which I've seen appear most on wishlists), so what would change that I would suddenly get so few presents in return?
I'm not worried about the value of them or anything, it just feels like such a strange break from the pattern that I thought it worth mentioning.
What happens if only one user contributes items?
Happened to me yesterday. Melody bought eight items, but none of the four people in my 'cohort' contributed anything. My five items and four of Melody's items got distributed to them, and I got the other four Melody items. I was wondering the same thing, with only me and 1 other person adding items yesterday, and the 2 others didn't. I couldn't figure out if they did get something or not. That sounds like a loophole in the system, unless that is what it's meant to do? If others don't contribute at all, should they be getting your items + also half of Melody's? At least with the old system, you could send out 1 "test" item to see if the other one was active or not, and see if they would at least not leave junk items. I guess Melody somewhat evens it out, but still doesn't sound completely fair (if at all possible to ever get a system like that to be fully fair).
well. i'm trying to give items but it just prompts me to login, then when i try it says page expired.....
There were 28 total items in the prize pool yesterday. Everyone contributed and I received 3 items out of the prize pool.

๐ some updates!
๐ Mysterious Melody Updates
i'm still watching feedback and making tweaks, but we're starting to settle!

and finally, some major improvements to the ๐ค melody bot ๐
the wishlist item selection strategy has been significantly upgraded to make it smarter and more effective. hereโs whatโs new:
each potential wishlist item is scored based on multiple factors:

Love these new features! But I can't seem to add items to today's new pool.
Same here First I got a 500 error when I tried to look into todays group, now I can't add any gifts.
Here to ditto that I can select gifts to contribute, however when I click the contribute button the page refreshes without adding anything to the pool.
Also, kind of not a fan of the wishlist addition. Like sure, I can understand wanting to get things people might actually like BUT it doesn't help when those items cos millions to purchase. I find that more discouraging then seeing what random items I'll be getting.
๐ท ๐ท ๐ ๐
just want to say i LOVE!!!! the addition of the wishlist thing - thank you thank you thank you!! i was feeling so discouraged and considered stopping playing MM because i felt frustrated just buying random items in the hope of them being useful to people. this is a great addition!!
I love love love the addition of the wishlist feature - makes things so much easier!!
However, I'm having trouble with adding items to the pool - after I click on the button then refresh the page, the items are added back to my inventory :(
Thank you for making these updates! Iโve just seen the gifts from yesterdayโs MM and I was feeling a bit deflated, because the gifts in most of my pools have been quite junky. Keen to see if todayโs pool is better with the improvements.
Iโve noticed the majority of the gifts in the pools Iโve been in are from event shops (eg the Vesnali shop) - I assume itโs because they have a high rarity and a decent shop price, so theyโre trying to โcheatโ the system. But I feel reassured that your data will also look at user demand.
Not sure about the wishlist thing. All the items shown are way more than I can afford so it's sort of useless in this case. It might help if I could see more than just the same 9 items so I can see if there's anything less expensive.
Also not sure about the pool quality thing. I feel like the stuff I can actually afford are considered low quality. How much am I expected to spend on this? Not that it even makes a difference anyway. No one is going to change their items.
The Wishlist Peek is interesting but I about choked when I saw the extreme list of mine today: 5000 credit gift card, other extremely expensive items, is this a random assortment and I'm just getting super unlucky? Is there a way to ensure the Wishlist item peak we are seeing is in a more affordable price range (assuming they have cheaper items on their WL)? I don't see a single affordable option on mine for those "variety" of users. I could see how that could be intimidating to casual/new users, let alone me.
Spend whatever you want. I would take a wild guess if the worth of the average item is 200k then perhaps that might be the baseline between an average pool. I think the pool quality of mine is glitched right now anyways. It was one thing, I took my items out just to see how or if they were affecting the quality of the pool. The pool was still the same value after. I put them back in and now it's saying something completely different on the worth that doesn't even make sense.

The Wishlist Peek is wild. I got wishlist items of one user priced at like 1k, and items of another user priced at 5 mil. And getting the cheap items of course contributes to a below average rating.
Also idk if it's just my browser issue (firefox) or something, but when I click on the check box of an item, it gets a check mark, then the item disappears into the "your contributed items" area, and the item that was directly below it gets the check mark... when I go to deselect/remove the check mark, it just adds that item, too. I worked around it by ignoring the check marks and only clicking the items I wanted to gift, but it's confusing.
