I got the nicest Christmas card today!! I am truly blessed to have such wonderful friends!

Also, somebody brought over some gingersnaps made with real candied ginger pieces. The best thing I love to do with them is to dunk my cookie in some Irish Whiskey. it brings out the spiciness of the ginger!

Oh I am jealous over the freshly made gingersnaps. Yummy!!!

Weldon's mom makes them. They are the best in the world. Trader Joes also makes a good gingerbread cookie shaped like little men. They are dipped in White chocolate fudge. Mmmmmm.

I love the Holiday season. Wednesday is for baking Fruitcake. Not the stodgy old store-bought stuff, Weldon's fruitcake with real dried fruits, not just candied citron. No raisins, but dates and figs and apricots and pecans. ...... You would be a believer in fruitcake again if you tasted this stuff!

Unfortunately every city has a trader Joe's but us, it sucks. But I have a German bakery down the street that makes fresh gingerbread men.

Not a fan of fruit cake, I probably never got to taste some with dehydrated fruit.

Sydney and I were just talking about how many of the old-timers are gone. I miss them too.
