I haven't been as present lately (though I have been going up and down the "active users" list handing out kisses!) because life has been busy!

I (finally) took a vacation and stayed in a cabin in the mountains for almost a week (including two travel days though). It was wonderful but also not nearly long enough! I'm already looking at trying to book another one later this year lol. I also ended up having to do some work while there (which reminds me that I desperately need to get this post lodge&learn write up done and sent omg). It was SO cold though, which made me SO happy! I saw snow (just a little bit) for the first time ever and it was magical. Foggy Morning in the Mountains Mountain Sunset Deer Watching

Two days after we got home, I did a special transport trip for my friend's rescue. I've never driven so much in my life! I drove 11.5hrs straight (with stops for gas, snacks, and potty of course!) to bring my former foster Lark to her new home. After taking a few hours to get her settled in we drove for another hour and a half so we could crash at my friend's friend's house. Super cool family! Their littlest one was cracking me up (also probably partially delirious from all the driving). The next day we got up and drove a total of about eight or nine hours because instead of coming straight home we headed to a different state (I traveled to three new states on this trip!) to meet up with a transporter from another rescue who was handing off another pup to us. The pup is a dog with wolf content and unfortunately that's illegal where he was living. He's super well socialized and stable for a WD, but his guardian got sick and had to surrender him because they could not find anyone to take him in. The shelter thankfully wanted to try and get him to a safe place vs euthanizing, hence my friend's rescue finding out about him. So we scooped him up and then crashed at a hotel (thank God he was so good in the hotel, Lark would have been trying to tear the room apart). During this part of the trip, before we picked him up, my AC stopped working. We went to autozone for refrigerant only to find out there was something else wrong that would require a mechanic. x.x So we had to go to Walmart and get fans and cooling supplies to make sure we all (but most importantly our pup friend) would remain cool the next day. Thank God it turns out the fix wasn't what the guy originally suspected which would have cost almost $2000. The next day we were up bright and early to try and travel before it got too warm. After five and a half hours we made it to my friend's house where we dropped off our new friend (who she is going to adopt). I took my other friend home and then went home and passed the heck out. Thank God my friend came with me because I would NOT have been able to do that solo. In other news, despite swearing I wasn't going to take a foster for March I am now (of course) picking up this new friend this afternoon and watching them for 1 - 2 months while their mom recovers from a TBI.

It's been a wild but also fulfilling and fun few weeks. Already looking at the end of summer to see if we can plan another vacation, but we're also looking seriously at moving to CAN so who knows what will be going on by then! Honestly, screw this administration. I don't want to have to move away from my family and friends and community. Mountains are awesome and I have always wanted to live there but being forced out because of politics? Sucks man.

Oh, and I started a new medication since my previous combo wasn't cutting it. So far so good, keep me in your prayers and keep those fingees crossed for me please!

I had a busy day of cleaning the house, refreshed my bed linnen, picked up my new curtains, hanged them up and saw my windows needed a clean so did that to... Sweating all over now. Pff now i need a shower lol!

Looks like an amazing vacation! I would love to move to the mountains. Unfortunately, my spouse has licensure in this state only (boo). Been trying to move out but between big things financially keep happening (AC unit, Washer, etc). It's just been one thing after another. I am ready to just sell everything and LEAVE. I'm beyond tired.

I'm glad you enjoyed your vacation. Love the pics! Love the mountains too. I also love snow, but agree with - if it stays around too long it completely loses its charm. lol We get snow every once in a while and stays for a few days if we're lucky, then melts. My favorite is when it only sticks to the roofs and yards. It looks pretty but doesn't affect walking or driving. But usually there's ice and that is horrible. I HATE ice! Ugh. Did the snow in January miss you? I saw that it hit a lot of Florida. I remember pics of snow and ice that ruined all the citrus crops decades ago. In the 70's I think. (I just couldn't believe it snowed there and not here! lol Just jealous.) But it was bad then. Anyway, wow you did a LOT of driving! I get sick if I'm in the car too long. Happy pups tho. :)

I am feeling better, thank you. I'm back at work now, so that's nice. I missed my kiddos, and they've been pretty excited to see me again too. =)

Definitely sucks that escape because of politics is necessary, but I wish you luck with it. I wish I could get out, but I'm much too poor for that. Honestly, I've been wanting out of this country for a long time though. I'm not a fan for many reasons besides what's going on right now.

I can't move down the street much less a different country. So I feel you on that one.

I can only watch a little bit of news and usually filtered by comedians. Or else I would just go insane.

Thank you! We're daunted by the idea of snow (especially so much of it) but in the end if we decide we need to go it will be worth it! I try to savor the moments of peace and quiet, especially a quiet brain that is actually relaxing vs running nonstop about stressors!

It was for sure! Fun and exhausting and fulfilling! Canada! We're looking at Nova Scotia and Ontario. Honestly if it wasn't financially impossible we'd be looking at European countries. But we would have to charter a private flight to bring the animals since some of them would not be able to manage commercial flying. I have hope for the US, but I also have a lot of concerns for our safety with all the food and corporate oversight being taken away, my safety with the threat of my medications being taken away (RFK Jr wants to take away mental health meds and send all of us to "work camps" to heal ?!?), and our option to have children (I'm likely more prone to complications and atm if I did have them there's a much higher chance I would die because I would be refused services).

Cleaning the house is SO rewarding! I hope you get to really bask in your efforts today and enjoy the tidy home!

It was! I enjoyed being able to stop at some local restaurants, I love supporting local as much as possible and try to make up for my amazon / walmart purchases by outweighing them with Costco and local purchases. I even brought home a jar of one places house-made salsa because it was authentic Mexican and the best salsa I've had in my life. omg it was so good. The guy also brought us to go cups and was like "here, take the rest of your margaritas with you" hahaha. Like sir, I'm driving and that is very illegal but also you're great.

I have an endless amount of animal photos lol. I try not to spam y'all with them though. Ugh, I completely relate. We're still working on repairs from the big storms, and there seems to always be something that wants to poop out. Being an adult is so fun isn't it? lol.

That sounds lovely! The ice was what scared us most, one day it rained and then hit super cold temps (there were icicles!) so we opted to stay at the cabin and not try to drive down the mountain lol. I tend to get car sick if I'm in the back or even the passenger at times, so driving is honestly better for me. I also can't read in the car or anything so it makes sense for me to drive and let the other person be on their phone. But I do prefer to trade off every 5 hours or so. This time I didn't trade off since my friend was a little nervous about driving my car in unknown places. It made me feel capable! But also tired lol. The snow here missed us! It stayed further north and broke records!

I'm sorry you are trapped. I hope that changes and options arise for you. We were in that boat for a long time.

Update from me over me

On my way to school i had a little accident. Sun was low, i was on my bike and a car did not see me waithing at a intersection. He bumped me, not hard but still. I am ok, called the doc, they checked me out. I am bruised, sore and a wee bit of a shock. Home now and resting.

Please let us know how she is doing she helped me so much with the survival flowers and other items. She is a good lady. Sending healing energy her way and lighting a candle for protection.
