I'm so glad you are keeping the sidebar and widgets! They are such an integrated part of the site, I'd be blind without them.

The one I use most is the notepad. After you removed the journals it has become a vital part to store information onsite and quickly accessible. So, please keep that!

I use it for example for site bookmarks or event actions. So if those could be turned into their own widgets that would be helpful too.

Others I would think are essential: Quests Currency Coda Caves Oracle Friends Online Userinfo (Subeta: Norn) Melody's Cottage Subscriptions (to forum threads) Events

I would love to see a widget for Account Search.

The sidebar widgets I use are Melody’s Cottage, Oracle, quests, events, my personal info (to see my sp and CSC at a glance), my current HA, and notepad.

I use notepad to create links for myself to things I do around the site or am working on. So, if I’m working on a certain achievement, I’ll create a link to it to remind me to go there. I put them in categories to remind myself why I do them, because some dailies I don’t particularly like, but I want to be reminded that I still do it for the achievement or the chance to win a certain prize. All of the other sidebar things could go away and I’d be fine, but if notepad dies it will completely alter the way I engage with Subeta. I do like poking around and looking at things, but often I just have a few minutes to stop by and I want to prioritize what’s important to me and reduce a lot of clicks to get there. Notepad keeps me engaged with the site daily because of that. If I only had five minutes for Subeta and didn’t have notepad, I probably wouldn’t even log on. Not intending to be dramatic, but it’s the shortcuts that have kept me here for so long. As an example, I already know what Centropolis looks like and how to get there, so it’s nice to save extra clicks by having a link to Job Agency because that’s important to me for the chance of getting a stat increase. If I couldn’t have that link, I probably wouldn’t go to Job Agency but every few weeks when it occurred to me I hadn’t been in a while.

Tldr please account for us to have some level of customization for the sidebar. It’s my most used tool on Subeta. 🙏

I'm in camp sidebar for sure (I'm also in camp bookmark, but that's a separate area). I have all of these active, but some I use more than others.

Essential/Use every day: User Stats Your Avatar - I really like being able to see my avatar on every page, because I mainly make it for myself! Battle Pet - All the quick links to battling are helpful Notepad - I keep random notes, personal bookmarks, and event codes dance/flower/kiss/etc with friends Quests - Helpful for remembering to quest and seeing at a glance which ones I've already done Shop List - Use this all the time to quickly get to shops

Nice to have/reference sometimes: Shop Profits Special Currencies The Oracle

Mainly use when I'm on mobile and the dropdowns don't work: Navigation

Wouldn't mind other seasonal widgets that feature the random dancing/kissing/etc.

I would love to see either a widget for site bookmarks, or a customizable Dailies widget.

I keep track of people I trick or treat or dance with and things like that

For notepad, I have the following:

Bookmarks to selected dailies or pages (like the token shop) - this could def be handled by a customizable dailies widget that lets you choose which dailies you want to keep up with

Goal stats for my battle pets in training, so that I don't have to reference that info off-site and can easily remember what I'm aiming for

During holiday events, I add the dance/kiss/tot/etc tag for friends, and then delete it afterwards.

notepad Ill put things like holiday actions, jot down things I want look up later item wise, names of users I want gift later for various reasons, sometimes bday reminders, generally just a variety of things

It's the easiest way for me to keep track of things

When it comes to the notepad I used to use it for links (but then just used custom bookmarks)

The main thing I use it for now is when I am going through Collections missing items and buying stuff. I will go though buy the ones in my price range til I'm out of my spending money, then make a note which is the next item in that price range so I dont have to hover over all the items all over again.

So my notepad would be like:

Bin Foods - Next food Eddie Bell Sweet Tooth Gummy Bear Clutch

so i could just skip to that item when im buying next

maybe kinda a weird case, but I have also used it for other stuff before like keeping a count of how many Monthly Collections items I needed every month to get the plushies in them. Used Wishlist to know what items to select but would have a running list like:

Monthly collections foods: 2006 - 2 2007 - 1 2008 - 1

etc etc and then reduce the numbers when i bought one

During Survival I also put the strains I have and strains i still need on there so i can see it on every page

edit: omg the holiday actions on the notepad is so brilliant. i always slapped them on my profile lol

For the notepad, I use it

• To add buttons for kissing/dancing/... during events
• To track which tabs I've bought for event/special shops + quicklinks to those shops
• To jot down things I need to check, like on a post it

Widgets I use:

-The user stats one -Quests because I will forget to do them otherwise -Notepad. One of my main uses for it is to keep track of what stats I need to train my pets to, in order to reach their next job tiers.

~ I keep the people I do the events with in the notepad. Example [ToT=Retro] So all the people I do them with and then just change the front part to each event. That way have a quick link to them.

~I keep peoples Bdays there.

~I keep battle info there. How many wins it is for each tier to drop amulets and tomes. Which Moro challengers give amulet and tomes. If I loan out weapons I put which weapon and to whom I loaned it to.

~Just odds and ends info that my old ass can't remember.

nice! my sidebar setup is always as such:

• user info
• shop search
• (if search subeta still worked, it would still be here)
• my avatar
• quests
• oracle
• notepad (i use it to keep track of what needs completing for each of my pets, pets i might want, overlay ideas, etc.)
• melody's cottage (stays collapsed until december but i like to keep it there so i don't forget to re-add it when luminaire starts)

i NEEEEEEEED the notepad widget. it is the only one i use and helps immensely with holiday forum events and gifting during lumi!!

edit: will add some more info:

1. i use notepad to quickly be able to navigate to my friend's user lookups in order to be able to view their wishlists primarily.
2. i also use this to find people's forum posts if they've disabled it from their user lookup (i put their username in the bbc, hover over their name, and i open their HA in a new tab, then grab their user ID from the HA img URL and put that into the URL for recent posts/topics). so for example, if someone recently had a cw approved that i want, i might go check their recent posts or threads to see if they've posted slotting somewhere.
3. i also keep a quicklink to edit my wl in my notepad so that i can try to be better about sorting through newly acquired items
4. i also put friend's names in the bbc there to quickly navigate to their pages so that i can go WL hunting during the holidays or birthdays.

anyway, i think that this sort of freeform widget is great and i wouldn't suggest changing it PERSONALLY, even if folks are aligned on what they use it for (although it looks like mostly they arent) but just my two cents!

i would die without my sidebar widgets. quests, notepad, (GOD THE NOTEPAD IS SO USEFUL PLEASE), and my avatar, just so i can admire lol

Standard on: Subeta: Evy [x] Notepad [x] - I use notepad partially as bookmarks really, with links to certain dailies or forums. Friends Online [x] Quests [x]

What I would like, is that temporary widgets (only needed during certain times), you could put active, but they only actually appear when necessary. Like I don't want to see Coda Caves widget there all month long, but it would be nice if you check a certain box, it would pop up in your widgets automatically on the 6th and 7th of the month. Ditto with Oracle (only pops up when you do have a quest waiting) and Melody (automatically pops up in December).

What I use the notepad for:

• bookmarks like BHH, SBQ or Crypts, food eaten for my gourmand pet, helpful forum threads or some games I enjoy for easy and quick access. So a potential widget could make use of a site map with checkboxes, which pages should show up in the widget as direct links

• event actions in addition to event forums - sometimes forums not loading or being slow or just for a quick click

• pet's jobs promotion dates (when to ask for it)

• ideas to pursue at a later date

• things that I need to keep track of/remember at a later date

• friend's birthdays
