Here's a few ideas I've come up with based on conversations over at Pet Enthusiasts Club:

Spotlight

1. I saw this suggestion years ago: let us nominate our own pets. Not everyone is comfortable on the forums. That shouldn't prevent someone who puts the effort in from having their day in the spotlight.
2. Alternatively, an easier way for users to view pets with the nomination link active, to better the chance of a pet being nominated.
3. Another idea for a Spotlight incentive prize: Pet Spotlight Giftbox. It would work like and give a random item. Maybe these could also be given to users who volunteer to "review" pets?

Other

1. Let our pets "collect" toys and grooming items like they do foods and books.
2. More games/activities we can do with our pets. (Like Rock, Paper, Scissors). Or our active pet could have more interaction with some of the existing dailies? Pets with better stats could increase the odds of finding the treasure in fishing or could help us fish up a bonus item in underwater fishing, for example.

Thank you so much for adding these ideas! New ones are added to the first post. I can see self-nomination being "not a thing" because it encourages social interaction (seems like something the site wants to encourage) and also serves as the first round of "checks" that a profile is ready (someone looking it over may catch errors or non pg-13 things and save staff having to decline for them). But, I like the idea either way and I definitely support the idea of having maybe a "pets ready to be nominated" page attached to the spotlight page where it pulls up pets that have had their "nominate this pet" turned on. Otherwise I think we need to get the word out about the Pet Spotlight Support board so people know they can post there and get visibility!

Love the idea of some kind of prize for spotlight! I would like to see it incentivized so more people are encouraged to invest in their pets! I miss how popular pets used to be!

Yes! Collecting toys would make them have additional purpose and cause people to want to buy them more I think! Especially since it seems like people either use the resort or don't care about keeping happiness up for everyone.

Love the last idea too! Having more engagement of the pets with things like games and having related achievements or bonuses would be great!

I used the mass book reading with my pet Heaven (ID 778647) and while the book number is accurate, the Intelligence isn't. I spoke with a UA and they set to to the number of books I've read to Heaven but that doesn't take into account the intelligence gained from the job agency over the years nor does it take into account some books are worth more points. Is there any way to look into this?

I’ve also had issues with the mass reading option breaking for three different pets. I sent in a ticket for the first pet and received the points back, but didn’t bother with the other two because I didn’t want to keep sending in tickets. I’ve since stopped using the feature :(

I've had the same issue with every pet I've read books to for added intelligence. None have been accurate at all. See here. This is the latest and a normal occurrence. I was soooo looking forward to this great feature! Please fix this!

Just boosting to say that I support a mass remove feature for TCs! when I came back from my hiatus, trying to nav and sort through my pet's TCs were such a slog 😅

Edit: "Make the book package a "stat boost" vs a book so that it can be read multiple times to the same pet and increases int points a range amount (like 5 - 10pts or something) with each use OR create a new item that does this." This would be cool!

"For all the pets that have finished training in the training center, just need to click one button to take them all out and show a list of all the stats gained (like collect all income) so we no longer need to click "Done" for every single pet." This would be awesome! I know some people can ctrl+ to open a new tab but I can't do that for some reason, that I just don't have the time to always train my baby pets 😅

But understand if the priority is to figure out mass reading, that would be so nice too! I haven't tried it yet because of all the bugs that I've heard about lol

I used mass read before and it was wonderful. Sadly, it's stop working. Would love for this feature to be fixed.

I know we don't exactly need any more pet colors or species but, as a suggestion, a spirit or ghostly color would be really cool. Lookin' at you, experiment

(even better if it was the same "color" but with day/night variant??? spirit/green-whiteyellow-pale-orange/foxfire-esque -- daytime and ghastly/haunted/purple-blue-magenta) - an idea for making it have a special acquisition method and/or subeta-lore-local could be something to do with shengui guo or shadowglen or both

Given how much variety and fun the Custom Wearables add to the site, and how we would never have so many cool wearables without lots of people working on it... Maybe a similar system, but for pet colours would help bring new life to the site?

I know custom overlays exist, but I think it would be really cool to have a shop system where users can use csc to purchase premade pet overlays that look like colour variations for the species we already have. I imagine that would not only bring a lot of variety to the pets, but also would be able to do so without being a money loss to Subeta? If anything, and I don't know how pet sites work, but I would guess that could increase the csc and pet slot purchases by creating another option on how users can spend that currency.

As for the details, I imagine it could be done trough some reusable item, like some polymorphing token, so later on that would create a reselling/trading market for that as well, similar to the CW market, which is fun imo.
