So with the amount of pain I've been having whilst playing the violin and with the very difficult time I had with the two weeks of rest for my shoulder, I am doing a bit of pivoting... I started contemplating the cello. I had to do a lot of calling and waiting and more waiting because renting a cello was proving to be a bit of a headache. The nearest practical place is in ATL and we were concerned about the lengthy rental and the cost of the cello. So I got the bright idea to call a used music store. There's apparently only one remaining in the state of GA and it's in... you guessed it, ATL. They had 4 in stock. We drove down today seeing as my GP's lab did the labs for my rheumatologist wrong I needed to go to the rheumatologist to get the labs redone (should've just done them there in the first place I guess....oops.) Anyway it was a long drive but we finally got there and I tested all of them out and looked them over. I selected the most expensive one which had been reduced that week by a $100. It was still $750 but way less than a new one. They threw in the brand new cello bow I was using as a tester and the rosin as well. It came with the used gig bag and it's bow. So then we drove down to a luthier nearby and had them give it a once over. He told me I found a gem. Said it was in really good condition and well worth the price. Only one minor repair is needed and we'll try to do that next month maybe. the fingerboard is coming off at the bottom so it needs to be reglued. He also liked the gig bag it came with. It is a nice bag, lol but it's difficult to work with imo so we'll be getting a hard case when possible. Anyway, it was a really long day but I'm pleased. :) If I get along with the cello, then my focus will shift to it. I still plan on playing my violin, just not as much. Maybe like every other day or once a week?

Unfortunately yes 😭 We are all sick ughhh. It was expected though with Jesse in school now. I just want a break from it though D: It's been two whole weeks we've been sick. What have you been up to? :O

LOL! It really is evil XD Oh wow congratulations on the cello!! I hope you find it more comfortable to play than the violin :O A bummer you have to drive to ATL for those things. That place is hell to drive in.

Oh wow thats...a lot of money x.x I hope you like it. Are you still going to keep renting the violin as well if you like the cello I know it's expensive to rent too. Plus if it's hurting you.might not be worth it?

thank you :) i played it a little yesterday lol you know just to have a chance to play it. I love the sound of a cello. Sometimes the violin is a little too high pitched. Right?! Thats a large reason we moved out of Atl. But the area is not quite large enough to support certain things, apparently. But at least we were able to get the labs done as well. Even if the traffic is awful lol

new they typically start at 2 grand and can get even pricey-er. We were saving to upgrade the rental violin to an intermediate level violin so we used the money for the cello. I own one violin which has a peg issue that eventually will need addressing, but yes, i will be returning the rental violin and putting the store credit i accumulated into a higher quality cello bow and possibly new strings for it as well.

I see. Pretty good deal then. I'm glad I was in band I feel like those instruments were a lot cheaper xD

Are you going to take a class for the cello or try teaching yourself for a little while?

Very, I get some peace and quiet again.. not so fond of having to be up early again though 🙃 so your little man is in school this year, right? Oh, that sucks.. at least Illumicrate is easy to get into. FL is a big wait.. I am hoping to get the adult/romantasy combo box they are starting next month. Apparently because I have the YA with items.. I have to go on the 3 book box combo waiting list 😩

Peace and quiet is the best lol. I feel you, I hate being up early 😭 He is!! He's in kindergarten :3 I want Fairyloot soooooo bad but the waitlist is like a year long! It's insane. Oh why's that? Both my kids were so excited to go, lol 😆 Well some spots will be opening with the combo boxes coming out next week for those already subbed. I want the 3 one but can only get the 2 combo so far. I had the items for Illumicrate but got tired of all the damn ceramic items they did so went to book only for a bit but have unsubbed and only have FL now. Had to sign up to the book only YA waiting list, and 3 way combo waiting list but hopefully the 3 combo one isn't too much of a wait as it's not listed on the site yet.

I wish I could afford all 3 of them like that :O I probably could if I wasn’t buying new books all the time 😂 I’m trying to catch up on series that I want to own and stuff like that. Slowly but surely 😂

I missed why you stopped playing the violin and started playing a cello, but I'm guessing it has to do with shoulder pain. Sounds like a lot of money so I hope it doesn't hurt you too! Cellos are great!!

Ugh! Nothing worse than sick kids when you're sick!
I ran errands today and am wore out! Groceries mostly. And some more alfalfa seeds as I've been sprouting them and eating them. Philip and Liz won't touch them. LOL! I also sprouted mung beans and now I remember why I didn't like them as a kid. But I added some carrot shreds and green onions and made pickling liquid to put on them and then put them on my salad they're not too bad.

I've been back for a while. It was nice taking a break but then I had to go and miss it. I know you're happy having the kids back in school!! 👏

Not sure what I was talking about but I watched The Traitors for a few months. Two seasons with players from the US and two seasons with players from the UK. When I'm working out (20 min elliptical and 10 min treadmill) I need a fairly fast paced show so I don't get so bored. It's 90 degrees here at the moment!! 😯Was just 60ish on Labor day.
