Mom called and it seems grandpa might not even last a week. He's not eating anything but is drinking liquids. And once someone stops eating it's unlikely they will last much longer.

may this nurse correct you on that... as that is not entrierly (?) true You can go without solid food for a week or 2 long but as long you drink stuff that replaces that you can go on longer. But you can't go without drinking for at least 2/3 days.

And it depends on how the body and heart is... and as long as he is drinking he can go on for longer then a week. When a person stops with everything then it can go fast but also depend how the heart and body is. It can be within days or a week.. i seen people who lived for another week and a half...

Robert Heinlein is a classic for a reason. Haven't read him since high school, though. Am a huge sci-fi fan so I've read a book or two by him.

- I've read most ofHeinlein's work. For some reason, this one just slipped through the cracks so I decided to finally read it. He has a lot to say about bigotry and racisism (plus a lot of other "isms"). I'm 2/3 through it and it will take a little bit to sink into my brain before I'll be able to give an opinion of it. ;) I do like his work, on a whole, though. :D

Getting out of my usual genres and reading Blood Meridian by Cormac McArthy (dude wrote The Road and No Country for Old Men). I admit it's because of how gruesome and unfilmable the book is supposed to be.

Cormac also has a very unique writing style that will take some getting used to.

- The dinner went off perfectly. I had jagerschnitzel and german potato salad. It was really good. We all over-ate and watched one of the live action Scooby Doo movies. Just shows that no matter how old we are, we're still kids at heart. :) Are you getting enough dances? Are you working trowards any achievements? I'm trying to complete the achievement where I ask people todance. Only 1500 left to go! XD

- There certainly aren't and I sometimes wonder how these ideas translated to his own life. I can undeerstand why some of his work is difficult to read. :D
